Is Algerian boxer Imane Khelif a hermaphrodite?

I have a coworker who is a world champion in the sport of kickboxing and some time ago he told me about the whole madness of gender inclusion in combat.

Mixed locker rooms, women in the men's locker room, men in the women's locker room, etc...

The last competition he went to he told me that there was a woman competing with men.

Thank goodness I didn't fight her! - he told me.

It's nonsense! They destroyed her in a minute! - he told me.

I meant that the Lizzies have to follow certain rules of engagement, and shooting fish in a barrel doesn't seem very 'balanced', does it? They should be powering up when all we see is a puppet show going into crazytown mode for self destruct. They seem to be going after the lowest common denominator and seeking massive chaos in place of real STS power play. What kind of recruits will that generate in long term? Same here in the States with all the 'woke' warriors in the military. If tunnel vision or wishful thinking is their hallmark, and they know it, don't they still receive 'help' or guidance from their masters? Are they so self centered in this wishful thinking that they don't want any guidance or assistance? It's no wonder the Quorum met to discuss the situation lest they have to repeat the cycle again as well as so many of us. Then from an overseer level, you got to shake your head and wonder about all of this and whether it's not just best to trim the branch and let others take a turn.

My two cents: I think she is born a hermaphrodite, raised as a woman.

Here in The Netherlands there is a famous person who was born a hermaphrodite too, and she was operated right after birth, the manly part of the genitals being removed, raised as a girl, but with clearly man-like features. Kinda simular to Imane.

There are some pictures circulating of Imane as a kid, being dressed like a girl. She is not raised in a place where it is likely she would swap gender along the way. A scenario like above would seem most likely to me.

A little late to the discussion (I'm new!), but this was my first instinct as well. I don't know much about the boxer herself, but from what I understand, Algeria is culturally pretty conservative.

I think intersex/hermaphrodite is the most likely scenario here, coupled with good old fashioned opportunism. She's very young, and came of age during this wild shift towards embracing gender dysmorphia. Perhaps she (or, more likely, her parents) saw the writing on the wall and recognized that fear of becoming a social pariah a la JKR is enough to keep most folks' mouths shut when it comes to pointing out the obvious imbalance at play.

Now that I'm coming to realize that all this fear of genuine discourse is intentional, it feels a little less depressing. Still frustrating, but... ultimately not as soul-crushing as it could be. Especially since, you know, "Help is on the way!" ;-D
