Javier Milei has been elected president of Argentina: Madman or genius?

A surprise victory for Javier Milei,

La Libertad Avanza (LLA), President Javier Milei's party, won 40.66% of the vote, consolidating its power in Congress and reversing previous defeats in key districts such as Buenos Aires. This represents a "confirmation of Milei's mandate," according to his own post-election speech, and allows him to move forward with economic reforms with greater legislative support.

Trump's dollars certainly did the job.

At 1:48 a.m. on Monday, 23 minutes after Donald Trump's post congratulating him on his "landslide" victory, Milei responded from his X account to thank him "for trusting the Argentine people."

"You are a great friend of the Argentine Republic. Our nations should never have stopped being allies. Our peoples want to live in freedom. Count on me to fight for Western civilization, which has lifted more than 90% of the world's population out of poverty," said the president.

Trump's dollars certainly did the job.

Years of dollar inflation to damage the economy of a country and generate discomfort in the population, then Trump arrives and if he likes you he fulfills the pantomime of buying you some meat to "disguise" that way he will fight the parallel dollar and then "relieve" the economy. That is, the dollar rises or falls/inflation at convenience and since that is what people want, to see low prices, they sacrifice other things that "Freedom" encompasses and now we have the solution to inflation, to be friends with Trump.

They also talk about that Anti-Peronism played a fundamental role, that is, they don't care that Milei is a crazy person and everything that characterizes him, there is simply a large part of the population that does not want the left to return to Argentina.

There is also a considerable abstention from voting and perhaps something to do with the change in the way of voting:

Argentina registers the lowest participation since the return of democracy in legislative elections: only 66% of the voters

These elections were also the first in which the Single Paper Ballot (BUP) was used, a system aimed at simplifying the voting process and avoiding irregularities, replacing the traditional party ballots.

Javier Milei's party gets strong support in the mid-term elections: "Today the construction of the great Argentina begins"

After months of anxiety - with a defeat in the legislative elections of the province of Buenos Aires on September 7, corruption scandals and an economic crisis for which he had to be helped by Donald Trump - the libertarian leader was able to celebrate this Sunday in Argentina.

With an electoral absenteeism higher than the last two elections of 2023 and 2021, Argentines renewed half of the Chamber of Deputies (127 legislators) and a third of the Upper House (24 senators), but, above all, they gave strong support to the current president.

With almost all of the election counted, La Libertad Avanza, the official party, obtained more than 40% of the votes, with resounding victories in the city of Buenos Aires and the provinces of Córdoba and Santa Fe.

Judicial investigation examines audios that would link Karina Milei with alleged bribery scheme.

The accusations involving Karina Milei and one of her closest collaborators, Eduardo “Lule” Menem, came to justice after the dissemination of a journalistic report that presented audios attributed to a former official. These recordings describe an alleged mechanism for collecting bribes linked to the purchase and provision of medicines, with an estimated premium of 8%, of which 3% would have been referred to the General Secretariat of the Presidency. CNN was not able to independently verify the authenticity of the audios, although their contents are listed in the court file.

The government insists that this is a political operation, but so far they have not given specific answers about the allegations.

The president always introduced his sister as “The Boss". He even went so far as to say that she was Moses, the leader, and he was just a popularizer of his ideas.

There is a channel on YouTube called "El Destape", they show interesting information to analyze. Although they do not seem very objective, surely for an acute mind you can easily deduce the madness that Argentina is experiencing as well.
