Jordan Peterson on Diet

Over in blighty we usually say "Great minds think alike....but fools seldom differ"
In this instance I guess I am the fool, because in my haste I forgot to provide the link!

I feel like I've slowed in rolling along on my pin wheel, and the only way to speed it up is to power it with consistently doing the things I have learned. I honestly can not figure out why I sabotage it when I KNOW the difference.

Maybe you don’t need to figure out the WHY - I think it often is a bit of a sideshow we are leading ourselves into. It is what it is, and the more important question is HOW - how do I get where I want to go?

I thnk that more often than not it is a matter of taking personal responsibility and to be ruthless with ourselves. You know WHAT you need to do and WHERE you’d like to go.

So draw a line in the sand, take the decision once and then walk that path. The reason I said “once” is, that it is easier to take a stand now for the future, that trying to negotiate with myself on the HOW every single day.

So take a stand and move on - or as JBP is wont to say - “Pick up your suffering and bear it!”

But do this knowing that we all are in the same boat ...

'Pick up your sufferning and bear it' , it is similar to working with past hurts or wrongs by noticing not how it was then but how it affects you now and if you want to keep reliving that past pain and suffering by doing nothing now and keeping that energy of suffering alive by refeeding it even though the event is over.

I'm slowly reading Healing Developmental Trauma. I'm early into the book yet I can already see that the way I choose to function or malfunction is a representation of the past and doesn't suit what I think about myself in the now or how I see myself in the future. I like the NARM approach of separating that past and the now and not hashing over things that have been hashed to death already.

CHOOSE has been a word that I keep on thinking and subtly hearing. You're right, it's time to be ruthless with myself, how I allow my past to affect my now and the decisions I make to change and move forward. I'll say it once, not change my mind every 5 minutes - thank you for noticing that's what I needed to hear!!!

That's a good extension to the saying too. I just didn't want you to feel alone since I have done the same thing. "Full awareness and concentration" is not an easy task for any of us. :)

But seriously, it is good to realize there is more than one person who is familiar with the same topic to be there as a back-up so to speak if needed.

I am kind of on "The way of the Fool" anyway. :P

Just wanted to mention that we'll be interviewing Jordan Peterson's daughter Mikhaila Peterson on the Health and Wellness Show today! Tune in if you can!

On this episode of the Health and Wellness Show, we interview Mikhaila Peterson, daughter of Psychologist Jordan Peterson, about her truly amazing recovery from serious health issues. Since she was a very young girl, Mikhaila was plagued by rheumatoid arthritis, severe depression, chronic fatigue among other health issues. She was on a cocktail of medications, including antidepressants, immune suppressants and amphetamines, to address her multiple conditions.

But through diligent research and sheer will, she was able to get her health condition under control through the implementation of a strict elimination diet. After having success in this experiment, she put both her father and husband on the same diet, who similarly suffered from health issues, repeating the success. Now she inspires many others to regain their health through her informative blog "Don't Eat That" at mikhailapeterson.com.

Join us Friday, February 9, 2018 for this episode of the Health and Wellness Show as Mikhaila shares her inspirational story of regaining her health through strategic dietary experimentation. Tune in to https://radio.sott.net at 11am EST/ 5pm CET.

It was a terrific interview, dugdeep. You and Gaby did a great job with Mikhalia! And in case you didn't know, JP tweeted about it too - which resulted in A LOT of downloads of the show in just one day. This'll probably mean greater recognition of Sott for a lot of folks who probably haven't been to site also. Nice work :)

"I love it when a plan comes together", as someone said. :halo:

Another good thing is that JP fans, who never even considered the importance of diet, may now start thinking more about it.

I had a dream about Michaela last night: The press was furiously trying to come up with a way to paint her and Jordan Peterson as dietary fascists.
