Someone has made a hilarious spoof account on Twitter: Peter B. Jordanson.

I recommend it. #PBJ (LOL!) takes JBP quotes and ideas, turns the into their opposites, and thus exposes the absurdity of what JBP is NOT saying. Funny and totally insightful.

Hilarious. Brilliant. What's even funnier is a few Tweeters don't recognize the satire. Thanks so much for the link. Was a tad depressed today and this PBJ Twitter feed cheered me up.

I had a good laugh too. Ironic that some people just don't get the satire! And when you frame things in the way that the SJWs are arguing for, you realise just how ridiculous their notions are. I mean some BLM peeps at Universities are actually campaigning for segregated dorms!! :headbash:

CALIFORNIA STATE UNIVERSITY OFFERS HOUSING 'FOR BLACKS ONLY'

Sometimes the more things change, the more they stay the same. Presidents of leftist colleges across the nation are creating segregated dorms for blacks students in response to the Black Lives Matter mafia. You can’t make this stuff up.

In 1964, Democrats fought tooth and nail to preserve segregation. Racist southern Democrat Dixiecrats like Alabama Governor George Wallace refused to follow the Supreme Court’s Brown vs. Board of Education decision, the law, and even resorted to sanctioning police brutality against blacks to keep his state “separate and unequal.”

It’s more than curious that California State University of Los Angeles proudly announced segregated housing for blacks only. It’s also grotesque that black students praised the move because they feel threatened living with whites at an integrated school. I wonder if any of these students realize that their forefathers fought and died for integration during the Civil Rights Movement and this housing arrangement is a step backwards.

No, you’re not misreading anything, leftists are harkening back to the pre-Civil Rights glory days of segregation.

The newly debuted Halisi Scholars Black Living-Learning Community “focuses on academic excellence and learning experiences that are inclusive and non-discriminatory,” Cal State LA spokesman Robert Lopez told The College Fix via email.” Does Lopez understand the definition of the word "inclusive"? Never mind, insert the laugh track run here. But Cal State isn’t alone in their backwards-leftist thinking. University of Connecticut, University of California Davis and Berkeley all offer housing for blacks only. It’s like it’s 1954 pre-Brown vs. Board of Education all over again.

If white students demanded segregated dorms in the name of “safe spaces,” they would be called racist. But today in the name of social justice, it’s just another “must do” for blacks. State’s segregated housing is the latest fruit to be borne of the Black Lives Matter movement’s grievance fleecing of college administrators. This housing debacle was part of the Black Student Union's litany of demands presented to the school nine months ago. In a letter of DEMANDS to President William Covino, the students wrote:

“Black students at Cal State LA have been, and still are, consistently made the targets of racist attacks by fellow students, faculty, and administration. These attacks come in many forms. Some are more overt and some subtle. Racially insensitive remarks, and micro-aggressions, by professors and students create a learning environment that is not conducive to the overall learning atmosphere.”

Yet, they listed no examples of these racist remarks or micro-aggressions in their list of 14 demands. Each one began with bold letters “WE DEMAND . . . .”

Number 13 was their housing demand:

“WE DEMAND the creation and financial support of a CSLA housing space delegated for Black students and a full time Resident Director who can cater to the needs of Black students. Many Black CSLA students cannot afford to live in Alhambra or the surrounding area with the high prices of rent. A CSLA housing space delegated for Black students would provide a cheaper alternative housing solution for Black students. This space would also serve as a safe space for Black CSLA students to congregate, connect, and learn from each other.”

They also demanded the school create a Pan-African Masters program, presumably so that black students could graduate with a useless, high-priced degree with limited job opportunities. Considering another one of their demands was “a $30 million dollar endowment to help support Black students” pay for college, why would they demand the school out more resources in African Studies degrees with little to no use in the job market?

Another laughable request was the Black Student Union’s DEMAND the school devote “$500,000 in funding for outreach programs that will focus on the recruitment of Black high school students as well as transfer students.” Regardless of a student’s qualifications, the militant group demanded that Cal State “increase the Black student body from 4% to 15% minimum within two years and to increase Black student admissions to 25% within five years.”

None of these demands address how affirmative action, namely weakening academic admission standards for blacks, has led to the high rate of blacks not graduating college at the rate of whites. Cal State’s Black Student Union’s demanding the school admit blacks to fill politically correct quotas will only lead to more blacks dropping out of college with high student loan debt because they’re not academically prepared.

If these black students don’t feel safe at an integrated university with white students, maybe they should apply to the nation’s historically black colleges and universities like Howard University, Morehouse College and Spellman College. At these schools, black students can get the segregated, all-black experience they crave because evidently that’s more important than black minds!

The best ten and a half minutes Peterson's ever done. It's positively Gurdjieffian.

Amazing! He says so many important things and with such a conviction that is inspiring to actually get on to action. :)

I really liked the part where he says:

"How do you overcome the suffering of life? Be a better person!!! That’s how you do it! And, that’s hard, it takes responsibility."
And then he goes on saying something like: if you want your life to have meaning, consider that everything matters but it means you have to carry it with you always.

He shows us how every single thing that we do in life is an opportunity to learn and actually has a meaning because of that. It is hard, yeah, but the sense I get from watching it is that it's actually one of the most encouraging messages that I've heard out there. I understand why he's known as a "life-changing professor".

--

Yesterday I finally watched the video "Slaying the dragon within us" and it also was absolutely amazing. The way in which he expresses the idea of facing fears and the treasure embedded in them is very motivational. I don't know, maybe it is because he uses these stories and myths to express his ideas so most of us feel touched by it as we do with this kind of stories and myths, because they touch our subconscious, so to say.

This video encouraged me to list all the fears I'm aware of but with a very different feeling than I would normally do something like that. I first wrote down this part of his lecture in my diary:

"Why would a dragon hoard gold? Because the dragon represents everything that you're afraid of.
What's embedded in everything that you're afraid of? Absolutely everything that you need to find.
Run from what you're afraid of - run from exactly what you need to find"
And then something he says about "being bigger than the fear". So, with that in mind, I didn't see myself as victim of these fears but as my own "hero", so to say, not afraid to face them and actually quite sure that I will do my best to overcome them.

One thing that I've found very interesting is the approach he exemplifies as asking "what can you do about it?" So, yeah, we are all afraid of many things, and we can be caught by our fears, but by asking what we can do about it, we already start moving beyond it and the fear diminishes, and that can prompt us to actually do something about it.

I'm so glad that there's someone like Jordan Peterson out there helping other people. Being a psychologist, I imagine that he's helped some of his patients already, and that's great!

I wasn't 100% sure where to post this but thought a JP related thread would be ok. I just saw on Instagram that Jordan Peterson is offering a 50% discount on his future self-authoring programme with the discount code NY2019. For anyone else like me who has been putting off purchasing the programme  now's your chance! http://instagr.am/p/BsHB6F6noZy/
For anyone who hasn't come across the self-authoring programme before, here is a description from the website:

Most people have never been asked to contemplate the question: "What do you hope to achieve in your life and what kind of person do you want to be?"

This realization was the genesis of the Future Authoring program. Dr. Jordan B. Peterson, professor of Psychology at the University of Toronto, decided to ask his students to sit down and write about their ideal future. They were asked to specifically describe the type of person they wanted to be, the skills they wanted to attain, and the relationships they wanted to have, among other things.
Simply through this guided contemplation, Dr. Peterson's students found themselves feeling like they had more direction in life. They were less anxious about the uncertainty of the future, and knew what they could do today to start down the path of becoming the person they wanted to be.

Since that first class, the Future Authoring program has been designed, refined, and deployed to thousands of people. It has been found to be profoundly effective at aligning goals with actions, and helping people define what they want their future to look like and achieve it.

How it works
The Future Authoring Program is designed to help you imagine your ideal future, three to five years down the road. What would your life be like if you could set it up in the manner that would be best for you? You will be asked to consider the people you admire, things you could do better, your educational and career goals, what habits you would like to improve, your family life, your social network, and your leisure activities.

Then you will be asked to write freely about your ideal future, without regard for grammar or spelling, for 15-20 minutes. It is best to use your imagination, to daydream, during this process. After that, you will be taken through a series of exercises that will help you specify, in detail, your ideal future, by summarizing, titling and prioritizing your goals, evaluating your motives, considering their personal and social impact, strategizing for their attainment, identifying potential obstacles and their solutions, monitoring your progress, and evaluating your decisions.

Good find, thanks for sharing! Yes, he'll have different deals at various times but that one is one of the better ones. A while back I ended up getting a similar deal, except it was buy one and get one free. It's the whole package (past, present, future) authoring.

Self Authoring - Self Authoring Suite

Anyway, I still have the second login, unused. I had offered it to some friends and family but they either already had an account or weren't interested.

Soooo, if anyone here hasn't yet purchased it or wants to do it but doesn't have the means to buy it, send me a PM and I'll send you the login. It's been sitting dormant for a while now and it might as well be put to use! Just promise me you'll actually do it... ;-D

I don't know if there were any takers for your spare login fabric, but I just wanted to say I have one spare one too and I'm happy to share if yours is taken and someone still needs it :-)

Not yet! I'm going to give it a couple of more months and if there's no takers I'll offer it to the rest of the 'web' in a YT comment or something.
May I take you up on your kind offer, please? The Self Authoring Suite has been on my buy and 'to do' list for awhile and I had intended to do the same as you i.e. buy it when there is a two for one offer on and give away the spare code here. However, I see that you have had this offered for two months now and it seems wrong that no-one has taken you up on your generosity.

Sure! I'd very much like for a forum member to get some use out of it rather than a complete stranger. I'll send you a PM with the details.

Happy Authoring! :-)
