JPMorgan: Surging Food Prices Fueling Global Inflation

Nice article on SOTT, thanks.

I just thought I would comment that California is a very important food supply region for the US. A major drought would cause significant food price inflation, and from the last three years of water war activity, I wonder if anyone else but me has heard them drooling over the possibility? The entire Southern portion is the state of California is fed by aqueducts from the North, making it quite dangerous to have a water shortage in Los Angeles. Remember, California's dry season is Summer.

Some of the signs that may support evidence of this lust:

- Bush Jr., administration siding with an endangered smelt, tinkering in the water wars in the Sacramento River delta.
- Pre-draining of major reservoirs late in the year for the past several years (for maintenance).
- Preemptive water rationing last year, that caused major labor upheavals (and activism).
- Nestle's sweetheart deal to seize the Mt. Shasta water source (thwarted by activists).

The drought mongers are the same as the inflation mongers if you ask me.

Anybody know any more about all of this?

Thanks
