Kassiopaea Karaoke

Oh, there's one that I've been meaning to mention ... "Follow the Gleam". We used to sing that in music class when I was 9/10. I loved it.

Well, I looked for it on youtube... almost NOTHING. There is some person playing a slightly inexpert version of it (not TOO bad though!) that gives SOME idea of the melody here:

The lyrics are even included below the video:

To the knights in the days of old,
Keeping watch on the mountain height,
Came a vision of Holy Grail
And a voice through the waiting night.

Follow, follow, follow the gleam,
Banners unfurled o'er all the world,
Follow, follow, follow the gleam
of the chalice that is the Grail.

And we who would serve the King,
And loyally Him obey,
In the consecrate silence know
That the challenge still holds today.

Follow, follow, follow the gleam,
Standards of worth o'er all the earth,
Follow, follow, follow the gleam
of the light that shall bring the dawn.

See if you can sing it along with the piano player. You'll see what I mean. It's very satisfying.

Speaking of Hallelujah and the primordial sound of Ahh in it, here is one of my all time favorites, gorgeously sung by a preacher.

Pretty simple and very powerful:

I remember watching this video a while ago. I'm pretty sure it was here on the forum. I really like this song, but when this priest sings it I like it even better. And from watching his facial expressions he seems to be quite the fun priest. :)

He became quite the hit with 48,698,340 views on youtube.

Thanks, Pashalis, for posting this again. It's really great (or at least so I think). :flowers:

This song popped into my head not that long ago. I hadn't heard it since I was in school but I liked the chorus.
Lord Of The Dance

Sydney Carter

I danced in the morning when the world was young
I danced in the moon and the stars and the sun
I came down from heaven and I danced on the earth
At Bethlehem I had my birth

Dance, dance, wherever you may be
I am the lord of the dance, said he
And I lead you all, wherever you may be
And I lead you all in the dance, said he

I danced for the scribes and the Pharisees
They wouldn't dance, they wouldn't follow me
I danced for the fishermen James and John
They came with me so the dance went on

Dance, dance, wherever you may be
I am the lord of the dance, said he
And I lead you all, wherever you may be
And I lead you all in the dance, said he

I danced on the Sabbath and I cured the lame
The holy people said it was a shame
They ripped, they stripped, they hung me high
Left me there on the cross to die

Dance, dance, wherever you may be
I am the lord of the dance, said he
And I lead you all, wherever you may be
And I lead you all in the dance, said he

I danced on a Friday when the world turned black
It's hard to dance with the devil on your back
They buried my body, they thought I was gone
But I am the dance, and the dance goes on

Dance, dance, wherever you may be
I am the lord of the dance, said he
And I lead you all, wherever you may be
And I lead you all in the dance, said he

They cut me down and I leapt up high
I am the life that will never, never die
I'll live in you if you'll live in me
I am the Lord of the dance, said he

Dance, dance, wherever you may be
I am the lord of the dance, said he
And I lead you all, wherever you may be
And I lead you all in the dance, said he

It's such a shock to hear Nana begin at such a high note... but then she does it. Yikes!

This is just amazing:

That's crazy I just found and downloaded their ten year commemorative album! I also love their rendition of Baba Yetu (which is the Lord's Prayer in Swahili):

"Wholly Holy Way" by Rickie Byers actually induces tears in me.
