Killary Clinton, The Donald, or Jill Stein: The US Election

From the New York Times:

This Pizzeria Is Not a Child-Trafficking Site
http://www.nytimes.com/2016/11/21/technology/fact-check-this-pizzeria-is-not-a-child-trafficking-site.html?_r=1

NOV. 21, 2016 - WASHINGTON — Days before the presidential election, James Alefantis, owner of a local pizza restaurant called Comet Ping Pong, noticed an unusual spike in the number of his Instagram followers.

Within hours, menacing messages like “we’re on to you” began appearing in his Instagram feed. In the ensuing days, hundreds of death threats — one read “I will kill you personally” — started arriving via texts, Facebook and Twitter. All of them alleged something that made Mr. Alefantis’s jaw drop: that Comet Ping Pong was the home base of a child abuse ring led by Hillary Clinton and her campaign chief, John D. Podesta.

When Mr. Alefantis discovered that his employees were getting similar abusive messages, he looked online to unravel the accusations. He found dozens of made-up articles about Mrs. Clinton kidnapping, molesting and trafficking children in the restaurant’s back rooms. The articles appeared on Facebook and on websites such as The New Nationalist and The Vigilant Citizen, with one headline blaring: “Pizzagate: How 4Chan Uncovered the Sick World of Washington’s Occult Elite.”

None of it was true. While Mr. Alefantis has some prominent Democratic friends in Washington and was a supporter of Mrs. Clinton, he has never met her, does not sell or abuse children, and is not being investigated by law enforcement for any of these claims. He and his 40 employees had unwittingly become real people caught in the middle of a storm of fake news.

“From this insane, fabricated conspiracy theory, we’ve come under constant assault,” said Mr. Alefantis, 42, who was once in a relationship with David Brock, a provocative former right-wing journalist who became an outspoken advocate for Mrs. Clinton.

Mr. Alefantis suspects those relationships may have helped to make him a target. “I’ve done nothing for days but try to clean this up and protect my staff and friends from being terrorized,” he said.

Fake news online has been at the center of a furious debate for the past few weeks over how it may have influenced voters in the presidential election. President Obama warned last week that we are “in an age where there’s so much active misinformation and it’s packaged very well” on social media sites. The criticism has buffeted web companies such as Google and Facebook, whose chief executive, Mark Zuckerberg, has promised to work on technology tools to slow the gusher of false digital information.

But Mr. Alefantis’s experience shows it is not just politicians and internet companies that are grappling with the fake news fallout. He, his staff and friends have become a new kind of private citizen bull’s-eye for the purveyors of false articles and their believers.

For more than two weeks, they have struggled to deal with the abusive social media comments and to protect photos of their own children, which were used in the false articles as evidence that the pizza restaurant was running a pedophilia ring. One person even visited Comet Ping Pong to investigate the allegations for himself.

To combat the fake news tide, Mr. Alefantis has contacted the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the local police, and he has asked Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Reddit to remove the articles. Yet the misinformation has continued to spread, growing into a theory known as #pizzagate that has traveled to Ireland. At one point, Comet’s staff counted five #pizzagate Twitter posts a minute. As recently as Sunday night, the Twitter message “Don’t let up. #PizzaGate EVERYWHERE” was reposted and liked hundreds of times.

“It’s like trying to shoot a swarm of bees with one gun,” said Bryce Reh, Comet’s general manager, whose wife asked him to leave his job because of the threats and vulgar messages they both have received on their social media accounts.

Mr. Alefantis, an artist born and raised in Washington, co-founded Comet Ping Pong 10 years ago as a casual spot for clay oven pizza. The restaurant has kid-friendly features like Ping-Pong tables and a craft room. Famous natives like members of the band Fugazi have held small shows there. The eatery, which seats 120, is a mash-up of red and white checkered tablecloths and modernist murals and paintings from friends of Mr. Alefantis.

Mr. Alefantis mingles with other Washington chefs and his establishment helped him to be named No. 49 in GQ magazine’s 50 most powerful people in Washington in 2012. His customers include some high-powered locals, such as Tony Podesta, the brother of John Podesta, whom Mr. Alefantis knows casually. Mr. Alefantis and Mr. Brock, who is the founder of Media Matters for America, a website that tracks press coverage critical of the Clintons and works to debunk misinformation in the conservative press, broke up five years ago.

The misinformation campaign began when John Podesta’s email account was hacked and his emails were published by WikiLeaks during the presidential campaign. Days before the election, users on the online message board 4Chan noticed that one of Mr. Podesta’s leaked emails contained communications with Mr. Alefantis discussing a fund-raiser for Mrs. Clinton.

The 4Chan users immediately speculated about the links between Comet Ping Pong and the Democratic Party. Some posited the restaurant was part of a larger Democratic child trafficking ring, which was a theory long held by some conservative blogs. That idea jumped to other social media services such as Twitter and Reddit, where it gained momentum on the page “The_Donald.” A new Reddit discussion thread called “Pizzagate” quickly attracted 20,000 subscribers.

Glen Caplin, a former campaign official for Mrs. Clinton, did not comment directly about Comet Ping Pong but said, “WikiLeaks has spawned several conspiracy theories that have been independently debunked.” Mr. Podesta did not respond to requests for comment.

Soon, dozens of fake news articles on sites such as Facebook, Planet Free Will and Living Resistance emerged. Readers shared the stories in Saudi Arabia and on Turkish and other foreign language sites.

Last week, one supporter of the Pizzagate theory shot a live video from within the restaurant during a busy dinner shift. Local police, who had parked across the street after Mr. Alefantis filed a report about the fake news stories and threats, told the man to leave.

In a statement, the District of Columbia Metropolitan Police Department said it was monitoring the situation and is “aware of general threats being made against this establishment.” The F.B.I. said it “does not confirm or deny the existence of investigations.”

Most troubling for Mr. Alefantis and staff has been the use of children’s images, pilfered from the restaurant’s social media pages and the personal accounts of friends who had “liked” Comet Ping Pong online. Those photos have been used across dozens of websites. Parents, who declined to talk publicly for fear of retribution, have hired lawyers to get the photos removed.

Musicians who have performed at Comet Ping Pong have been pulled in, too. Amanda Kleinman, whose band, Heavy Breathing, has performed there several times, deleted her Twitter account after the abusive comments became overwhelming. Similar comments have flooded her YouTube music clips.

“We are at a dangerous place in American culture where a good percentage of people aren’t distinguishing what is a real news source based on real reporting and fact-checking and only reinforcing pre-existing ideas they have,” Ms. Kleinman said.

The frustration has been compounded by the lack of recourse for Mr. Alefantis, his friends and employees. Yelp blocked the comments sections of Comet Ping Pong’s review page after reports of abusive comments and fake news in reviews. YouTube said it prohibits threats, harassment and hate speech and has tools for flagging violations and filing complaints for the site to take further action, but has largely not blocked comments on these videos. Twitter declined to comment, and Facebook did not have any further comment.

After employees and Mr. Alefantis complained to Reddit about how Comet Ping Pong was being targeted on the site, the #pizzagate discussion thread posted a warning that revealing personal information about individuals was prohibited.

“We know that we have more work to do and we take our responsibility to address online abuse seriously,” Reddit said in a statement.

Little relief appears in sight. Over the weekend, Comet Ping Pong received dozens of calls from people screaming obscenities and threats. Mr. Alefantis got 50 nasty Instagram direct messages, including one that warned, “This place should be burned to the ground!”

On Monday morning, when Mr. Alefantis picked up his phone, he saw a text from a staff member warning that an individual might protest in front of the restaurant.

“It’s endless,” he said.

Just want to clarify something on the Kane-Clinton connection. Kane was in the process of doing her own internal investigation on child trafficking and pedophilia. The spark that initiated the flame was information from a former investigation - connected to the Sandusky trial that included emails. Two of those emails were leaked by someone in her office and sent to a Philly newspaper... and then blamed on her. The leaked emails were later termed "Porngate" due to their content. Authorities in Philly then took up their own investigation and several prominent Politicians, Lawyers and a few Judges were indicted or made to retire. While all that was going on, Kane went after the Catholic Church and its pedophilia problem and set up a 24 hr. hot-line. She declined a potential run as a Democratic candidate for the 2016 U.S. Senate election, instead wanted to run for a second term - so she could continue her investigation and get the proof needed to prosecute and get indictments. They stopped her in her tracks and now she facing jail time?

Another news report has come out on "Porngate" Kathleen Kane had all intensions of naming-names but the guy who replaced her has declined to do so.

Porngate Report Released (Video)
_http://wnep.com/2016/11/22/porngate-report-released/

HARRISBURG -- The acting Pennsylvania Attorney General released the long-awaited report on the so-called "Porngate" review, but it may not put an end to the controversy.

Attorney General Bruce Beemer says the review of more than six million emails and documents shows there is nothing that impacts the administration of justice in the state.

Beemer says the report found 13 judges or senior state government officials were labeled high-volume senders of emails that were identified as inappropriate that includes the two former Supreme Court justices who were forced to resign when the so-called Porngate scandal broke.

"This was an extraordinarily difficult decision for the attorney general's office and myself, personally to make," said Pennsylvania Attorney General Bruce Beemer.

Beemer says it would unfairly damage the reputations of workers in the state judicial system if he released their names.

But the attorney general says it will be up to their bosses to decide what to do to anyone who sent inappropriate emails on state computers.

We are forwarding to the appropriate agencies or the appropriate employers, information about what was found in this report to allow those individuals or agencies what they deem appropriate," Beemer said.

The independent report into so-called Porngate has already cost taxpayers roughly $400,000.

Former Attorney General Kathleen Kane hired a Washington DC law firm after her office discovered judges and prosecutors traded emails she described as containing crude jokes, racist pictures, and women engaged in pornography.

Kane left office in August after she was convicted of engineering the leak of confidential information to a newspaper and lying about it.

The current attorney general says that independent report has turned up more objectionable emails, but added Pennsylvanians should have confidence in the state court system.

"The report provided no evidence to support the idea that there were relationships between prosecutors and judges," said Beemer. "That might have affected administration of justice in Pennsylvania."

The bolded "title" is taken from the previous post (This Pizzeria Is Not a Child-Trafficking Site) is from a small greyed out statement at the bottom of the article:

I think the title at the top of the article, "Fake News Onslaught Targets Pizzeria as Nest of Child-Trafficking", is slightly less opinionated even though the article as a whole is questionable to me. The large print title at the top of the article is difficult to miss I think.

Changing "the Title" of an article, even within hours after publication - is a common practice at the New York Times. Also "changing part of the articles content" to reflect the newly attached Title is also a common practice of the NYT ... as is the tiny little gray insertion box (which you quoted) at the bottom of an article "after alteration" to denote a change from the original. Nothing new there. This practice is not exclusive to just the NYT, Huffington Post does the same, along with many other news agencies. It's one of the reasons, I often include the full contents of an article, if I feel the information is important.

When I Posted the article - the title on the article was This Pizzeria Is Not a Child-Trafficking Site
which has since been altered to ""Fake News Onslaught Targets Pizzeria as Nest of Child-Trafficking".

The reason for Posting the article, I felt it represented "a form of damage control" to minimize and cast doubt on revelations surfacing in "PizzaGate" and the Podesta emails. As you noted - "the article as a whole is questionable to me" reflects what I consider - as damage control.

Indeed for the bold above. And those "sleight of hand" are revealed for what they are: liers, manipulators, with deviant behaviours if not psychopatic ones. They are taken at their "own game", because they are so confident in themselves that they even are not able to imagine how their behavior turn back like boomerang in their own faces/masks. As it physically hurts, the mask can fall and let the real being seen by all those who want or seek to see.

It's amazing the HUGH sums of money that was coming into the Clinton Foundation and a sister company,
Clinton Health Access Initiative from other Countries?

No More Pay to Play? Australia Halts All Clinton Foundation Funds
https://sputniknews.com/us/201611241047774465-australia-cuts-ties-clinton-foundation/

24.11.2016 - Following Hillary Clinton’s US presidential election defeat, it has been announced that Australia has cut all official ties with the Clinton Foundation.

On Tuesday, Foreign Minister Julie Bishop announced to the joint party room that agreements with the Foundation previously set up by the Rudd-Gillard government had not been renewed.

“[Former Prime Minister Julia] Gillard also donated $300 million of our money to the Clinton-affiliated Global Partnership for Education,” Australian newspaper the Herald Sun wrote in an October article titled, “Why have we donated to Clinton’s foundation?” The Foundation, set up by the former first family of the United States, has received large amounts in donations from foreign governments, leading many to question whether it was part of a pay-to-play scheme during the former first lady’s tenure as US Secretary of State.

Disparities in the amount of funds given to the Foundation by the Australian government have raised eyebrows.

Reports from the Clinton Foundation list the Commonwealth of Australia and the Australian Agency for International Development as having collectively donated somewhere between $20- to $50 million. The Foundation also has a sister company called the Clinton Health Access Initiative however, which appears to have also received funding from Australian taxpayers.

“Since 2006, Australia has contributed $88 million to [the Clinton Health Access Initiative] and its sister organization, the Clinton Foundation,” Bishop said in a statement on September 22, 2014.

Documents released in July by Australia’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade provided a different number from both, however, listing 11 separate grants to the Clinton Foundation, and a “China Clinton Foundation” that totaled almost $71 million.

These disparities prompted Republican Representative Marsha Blackburn of Tennessee, the vice-chairman of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, to bring the issue to the attention of the IRS.

In July, she told the Daily Caller that “reports have shown that the Clinton Foundation has failed to accurately report tens of millions of dollars in foreign government grants, including some while Hillary Clinton was secretary of state.”

“This should be troubling to all Americans as it gives the appearance that there could be a pay-to-play arrangement between the Clintons and foreign governments while the interests of the American people were pushed aside. The tax-exempt status of the foundation should be reviewed immediately,”
Blackburn said at the time.

It has been proven over and over again that the Clinton Foundation receives large donations from abroad. However, a striking revelation came recently when it turned out that a German state institution was also among its sponsors.

Striking Revelation: How Germany Financed Clinton Foundation
https://sputniknews.com/politics/201611221047723016-germany-financed-clinton-foundation/

22.11.2016 - According to Sputnik Germany, the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) appeared on the list of sponsors of the Clinton Foundation on the official website of the latter and is assumed to have donated from one to five million US dollars to the American institution. (Screenshot: website of the Clinton Foundation)

As the screenshot shows, there is a **symbol after the name of the organization which, as explained below, means that the donated amount also includes subsidies from the state.

Some Internet users from Germany have already expressed their criticism in this context. "Oh no, does it belong to the federation?! Our government has just donated a million or two to the Clinton Foundation?!" a comment said.

The GIZ confirmed on its website that it has donated a total of 2.4 million euro to the Clinton Foundation from 2013 to 2016. The money was supposed to finance a project that was commissioned to the Foundation by Germany's Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development.

In the framework of the project, the Clinton Foundation has been responsible for the implementation of a development initiative in Africa and was supposed to use the donations "to equip health centers (f.e. in Malawi) as well as educate health care workers," an official GIZ statement said. Around 500,000 people in Malawi were supposed to receive access to essential health, HIV / AIDS and nutrition services thanks to the program.

Although the initiative sounds quite well-intended, questions have arisen of whether the funds have really been used in an appropriate way. The Clinton Foundation has repeatedly come under sharp criticism due to its remarkable sponsors and enormous expenditures.

The Clinton Foundation is a charitable foundation established by former US President Bill Clinton after he left the White House in 2001. Among others things, it includes the Clinton Global Initiative, which devoted itself to the fight against AIDS, and the Clinton Public School, which is supposed to motivate more young people to work in public services.

According to various sources, only six percent of the Clinton Foundation's revenues have been spent on these goals. At the same time, it was reported that it had paid out enormous salaries and claimed dubious business travels. As reported by the website FactCheck.org in June 2015, the organization spent 30 million dollars (20 percent of the total revenues) on salaries alone.

On November 13, the foundation once again came into the media spotlight, when it became known that
in the 2011-2013 Switzerland had donated to the institution over half a million US dollars. It is noteworthy that at that time the US exercised pressure on Swiss banks in the context of their efforts to combat tax evasion.

Other donations came from Ukraine that had been one of the main physical sponsors of the Foundation in 1999-2014 with overall donations amounting to 10 million dollar. In early November 2016, the foundation also confirmed reception of one million dollar from the Qatari government. At that time Hillary Clinton was US Secretary of State and should have informed the State Department about the donation, which she, however, didn't.

In recent years, Norway emerged as one of the most generous contributors to the Clinton Foundation. After Hillary Clinton lost the US presidential election, however, the support plummeted.

Norwegian Support to Clinton Foundation Shrinks After Hillary's Loss
https://sputniknews.com/europe/201611221047716225-norway-clinton-foundation-loss/

22.11.2016 - Since 2007, Norway has provided a total of 640 million NOK ($75mln) to various projects the Clinton Foundation operates. Millions in Norwegian aid funds were flowing into the Clinton Foundation for years, peaking at 174 million NOK ($20mln) in 2015. Incidentally, little Nordic Norway has been one of the largest donors to the Clinton Foundation, on par with mid-Eastern oil-rich monarchies, such as Saudi Arabia.

Top Donor nations 2 Clinton foundation; Norway, Saudi Arabia, Australia, Netherlands, Kuwait. After Clinton's harrowing loss to Donald Trump, support has now been cut by over four fifths. In 2017, only 23 million NOK (€2,7mln) is allocated, which represents an 87 percent drop compared to the peak year.

According to a former Wall Street hedge fund manager and financial analyst, the Clinton Foundation is used by tyrants and despots worldwide to get an access to Washington.

Clinton Foundation 'Illegal Slush Fund for Dictators' - Ex-Wall Street Executive
Clinton Foundation 'Illegal Slush Fund for Dictators' - Ex-Wall Street Executive

05.11.2016 - The Clinton Foundation is a service offering corruption and slush funds for the use of tyrants and despots around the world on a scale never before seen in history, former Wall Street hedge fund manager and financial analyst Mitch Feierstein told Sputnik.

The Clinton Foundation is an international illegal slush fund for despots and dictators used to sell favors and gain access to Washington, Feierstein, author of "Planet Ponzi" and a hedge fund manager who has spent 37 years working in the financial markets in London, New York and Tokyo, said.

"It is a cover up unequalled in history and none of the US media wants to cover it," he added.

[...] Feierstein described this technique to avoid accountability and prosecution a "Four Ds" strategy.

"I call this Clinton scheme the four Ds — Divert, Deflect, Deceive and Deny. Accuse your accuser of exactly what you are doing," he said. (Article continues.)

Roger Stone's Clintons' War on Women is a good overview.

Thank you!

Just wanted to mention that another good book which helps to provide some context to the one above is Hidden History by Donald Jeffries, which covers the period between Kennedy and Obama and provides sections on things like body counts for each president. The section on the Clintons is good, but I particularly enjoyed the one on Obama.

Looks like Canada's Trudeau has a Foundation set up similar to the Clinton Foundation, along with some of the same connections? Soros is also involved in Canada's affairs including refugee sponsorship.

Trudeau in hot water over “pay for play” but Clinton parallels don’t end there (Video)
http://www.therebel.media/trudeau_cash_liberal_leader_in_hot_water_over_pay_for_play_but_clinton_parallels_don_t_end_there
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-qtOJPi917o (4:26 min.)

Justin Trudeau is in some hot water over the Trudeau Foundation, which he says he hasn’t been involved with since he was first elected to the House of Commons.

He attended a $1,500 per plate fundraiser with billionaire Chinese investors that donated $1 million to the foundation.

The Trudeau Foundation is the Canadian version of the Clinton Foundation and the Liberals also have their own version of the Center for American Progress: Canada 2020.

These two groups have hosted joint functions at which Trudeau was a featured speaker as we now know from the Wikileaks release of Clinton campaign chairman John Podesta’s emails.

American Progress is an attack dog at the Democrat’s disposal. They’re funded by the United Arab Emirates and George Soros and are so influential that Barack Obama implemented many of their policy suggestions when he took office.

There is a clear web of progressive funding that entangles progressive Canadian politicians, American Democrats and activists.

All the major players are involved and our own Prime Minister is one of them.

He rubs shoulders with the likes of Podesta, the Clintons and even George Soros and after Hillary Clinton’s stunning election loss, the globalists have to stick together.

Canada to join with UN, George Soros to export private refugee sponsorship
http://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/private-refugee-sponsorship-soros-un-1.3769639

Sep 19, 2016 - Some 13 countries interested in adopting program, Immigration Minister John McCallum says.

Canada is forming a partnership with the United Nations and billionaire George Soros to help other countries implement their own version of Canada's private refugee sponsorship program.

Immigration Minister John McCallum told Rosemary Barton, host of CBC News Network's Power & Politics, he knows of about 13 countries that are potentially interested in Canada's model for private refugee sponsorship, adding he has already had talks with the United Kingdom.

McCallum said the program would be announced at the UN on Tuesday, but a news release issued by Citizenship and Immigration Monday outlined the initiative's three main priorities:
■Expanding the use of private sponsorship as a pathway for refugees.
■Encouraging the expansion of resettlement by building the capacity among states, civil society groups and private citizens to launch private sponsorship programs.
■Mobilizing citizens to directly support refugees and encourage "a broader political debate that is supportive of refugee protection."

The release said the initiative will start by creating training modules for private sponsorship based on an analysis of the Canadian model and will offer countries "tailored advice" on how to adapt and implement the programs.

The joint initiative between the government of Canada, the UN High Commission on Refugees and Soros's Open Society Foundations will have a kick-off meeting in Ottawa in December, the release said.

McCallum said Canada's decades of experience with private sponsorship, going back to the resettlement of Vietnamese refugees in the 1970s, puts it in a position to help other countries.

"I think we can offer practical advice to those countries who are interested in going this route, and I do believe, based on our own experience, that it will be a successful thing to do, and I'm grateful to the UN and George Soros for co-sponsoring this initiative with us," he told Barton.

McCallum said Soros would contribute funding to the project.

President-elect Donald Trump will encourage foreign governments to investigate the Clinton Foundation’s finances, according to a Sunday report by the New York Post.

11/27/2016 - The proposed action follows only days after a rapid-fire series of announcements from many major Western foreign capitals that they are reducing their contributions to the Clinton Foundation, or investigating the charity’s money trail in their countries.

The Australian government confirmed Friday it is not renewing its several partnerships with the Clinton Foundation, according to Australian news sources.

The Norwegian government also announced a 90 percent cut in contributions to the Clinton Foundation shortly after Hillary Clinton’s presidential election defeat, as first reported by The Daily Caller.

The Commonwealth of Australia and the Kingdom of Norway have each contributed up to $25 million, according to the Clinton Foundation’s website.

In France, federal comptrollers reportedly have begun an investigation into millions of dollars of government money that ended up at the Clinton Foundation, according to a document reviewed by The Post.

Financial pullbacks by such large Western foreign governments suggest their support was based more upon Clinton’s potential influence as president of the US, rather than on the merits of the foundation’s work.

Sources close to the Trump transition team told the Post the new president will ask U.S. ambassadors to raise the Clinton Foundation’s financial transactions with foreign governments, and suggest they probe their financial dealings.

Trump previously said he will not press charges against his former presidential rival over her use of a private email server or over alleged corrupt practices by the Clinton Foundation. The FBI has had a multiple-city investigation of the Clinton Foundation since last February.

However, the U.S. government may still probe a number of special Clinton Foundation projects, including its massive infusion of funds into Haiti and Columbia, according to the Post.

Overall, the Australian government has given up to $460 million to the Clinton Foundation and to its affiliated AIDS project, the Clinton Health Access Initiative.

Former Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard has been accused of participating in a “pay to play” scheme with the Clinton Foundation.

After Gillard lost her prime ministerial post in a June 2013 confidence vote with Labor Party leaders, she became chairwoman of the Clinton Global Partnership for Education in February 2014.

“Lo and behold, she became chairman in 2014 and has been actively promoting Clinton as president ever since,” wrote London Daily Telegraph columnist Miranda Devine Oct. 29, 2016.
