I'm not sure why, but this situation has gotten me really angry. :curse:

I'll just post what I wrote in my sott comment as a starter. This is what I think:

[...]
As for this whole Afghanistan situation, I think it stinks more than rotten fish. For the past 10 years, "Christian nations" have been basically 'burning' Afghanistan and Iraq to no end. They have raped their mothers , sisters and daughters and killed their sons, fathers and brothers and it takes some ignorant pastor burning a Koran in the US to set these people into such rage? It makes no sense. And why do we only hear about Afghanistan being so outraged? What about other Muslim countries? Do they not care?

I think most of these people are uneducated tools being used by agent provocateurs like MOSSAD and the senseless violence is connected to them. And finally, I think this line is VERY convenient.

"The deaths are a major setback for the U.N. and international forces who want the Afghan government to take control of its own security by 2014."

It's almost as if the entire situation, beginning with the ignorant pastor burning the Koran was set up just to keep the troops in Afghanistan in 2014. Under the guise of, these people are violent savages, and they need to be controlled, osit.

What about some of ya'll, what do you think of all this?

This pastor was recently informed by the FBI that he had a 2.5 million dollar price on his head. This whole situation is horrible. We legally can't stop him because of first amendment rights. The response by some of the Muslim world is to riot, attack UN members and burn Bibles, and these events are fueling the rage of fundamentalist Christians in the US. I believe this will escalate to a breaking point soon.

What do you mean? The guy is trying to get attention. But to use the word "horrible"?

We should not stop him from being stupid, and not because of any "first ammendment rights". If he wants to say something or do some act upon his personal property, that is his thing. If someone else thinks his acts are offensive, they should change the channel and ignore him.

And those stupid puppets should face the consequences of their actions and their stupid, mindless, robotic slavitude to their religious leaders.

... and burn Bibles, and these events are fueling the rage of fundamentalist Christians in the US.
I do not think that many "Christians" really care if any Moslems burn bibles. I think the reaction is more like "yawn" or "those dumb Moslems..."

hor·ri·ble (hawr-uh-buhl, hor-)–adjective
1. causing or tending to cause horror; shockingly dreadful
2. extremely unpleasant; deplorable; disgusting
Yes. Horrible. I chose the correct word for my feelings about this.

His acts are not just offensive, they're provoking violent action from Muslims, resulting in loss of life. What the Israeli government is doing in the West Bank and Gaza are also offensive, would you suggest we just change the channel and ignore them?

I believe this illustrates my point that fundamentalists and conservatives are joined together on this topic.

Some in the left-wing media (The Atlantic’s liberal loon Andrew Sullivan among them) and liberal sheeple community are, of course, blaming Jones, audaciously saying blood is on HIS hands for this horrific Islamic massacre, the latest in the alarming spread of Muslim violence and murder across the globe — because if Christians had retaliated to a Bible burning by Muslims that had the same deadly consequences, Muslims and not the murderous Christians would be blamed for their barbaric actions by the same media, right?

(edited: profanity)

Muslims kill Christians, burn churches, burn bibles, and the leftwingnuts advocate that as “freedom of speech”. A preacher gives a little quid pro quo, and the f***ing “free speech” proponents scream “bigotry”!

Muslim extremists don’t need a Koran burning as an excuse to riot, murder, and commit atrocities. They’ve been doing it for eons.

There are only two things in the Middle East cesspool of human garbage that are worth a s**t: Israel and the array of antiquities. The rest of it can rot in hell.

At this point, it's escalated to the point where it doesn't even matter to them who did what first to whom....that's what makes it so horrible.

I don't think the Afghans are upset soley because some idiot pastor burns a Koran. The greater issue is that their country is being occupied by a sinister force that is killing innocent men, women and children and then on top of it some idiot from the same occupying country burns a Koran.

This article left a bad taste in my mouth. As if NATO is saying, "Pay no attention to the fact the we are illegally occupying this country and inflicting "collateral damage" left, right and center. Just concentrate on this silly fundamentalist pastor and his stupid antics." As if the Afghans have no other reason to riot other than this publicity stunt. As if General Patreus's condemnation of Terry Jones has any meaning whatsoever. Terry Jones has blood on his hands? What about the buckets and buckets of blood the the entire US administration is wallowing in since this occupation started? :curse:
