LegalShield has been providing legal service plans to North American families for over 40 years. Our customers can access legal counsel and advice from qualified lawyers simply by calling a toll-free number. Many other benefits are included, but even at the most basic level our plans allow you to have peace of mind.

They charge a monthly fee for some basic services and they will help you find an attorney for bigger things. Kind of like an HMO for law services I think...

Included with the monthly fee they will file a Will for you, you can send them a certain number of legal contracts (leases, employment contracts, etc.) to review, there's a 24/7 emergency line you can call if you get in trouble with police, they offer something like 50 hours per year of audit protection, they will help with speeding tickets and other minor traffic violations and I think there are some other benefits as well. Basic plan is ~$20/month and you can add extra protection if you are at high risk for lawsuits (through your job I guess?) for $10/month and they have extra services for small home businesses for $10/month.

I'm wondering if anyone has every used this service or knows someone who does. Did you have a good experience? Bad experience?

My other thought is... if it IS a decent service maybe it would be worth contacting them to see if they offer a group/organization discount. My thought is that they might offer a group discount for FOTCM members that would help us get basic legal services. Thoughts?
