Crazy Town: Skopje Court forged documents, abused Ivanov’s name to jail 2 DPNE officials
The Cabinet of the President of the Republic of Macedonia has responded to the announcement of the Basic Court Skopje 1 and considers the Court explanation of “independence and no interference in the judicial power” very much intended to conceal horrendous illegal activities by the Court involved in misuse and publishing of forged and inaccurate information.
– Do not hide your criminal responsibility behind your so called “independence of the court” where on the basis of forgery and untruthful content, constructing vicious lies and abusing the name of Macedonia’s president, you decided prison conviction orders and carry out detention policy. We point out that, just like the public we too saw the Court’s announced Detention Decisions and introduced forged contents to a document marked “strictly confiedential” which carries additional criminal responsibility for the Court and its officials, – the statement from the Presidential cabinet says.
The Cabinet of the President of the Republic of Macedonia, as it is stated, has never reacted to a court decision/decisions.
“We think it’s about time, and in the interest of the EU, the standards that the country is seeking to fulfill, for the judiciary to not hide its own shortcomings behind supposed interference in its independence,” the reaction says.
The Cabinet of the President of the Republic of Macedonia is still expecting an answer to the request sent to the President of the Basic Court Skopje 1 Ivan Dzolev for response to the official note of the Ministry of Interior and UBK, which is false and forged, which gave away the information that president Ivanov’s cabinet is ilegally wiretapped.
The Court via the UBK provided forged documents as ‘evidence’ to jail DPNE officials Mile Janakievski and Kiril Bozinovski. In addition, in the Government’s rush to jail the two officials, the Court through their cooperation with Zaev’s UBK accidentally released a confidential document where it’s noted that Macedonia president’s office and residential villa is being wiretapped without his knowledge.
UBK surveillance of President Ivanov and Janakieski throws fresh doubt on Government official position on Nikola Gruevski
Allegations raised by President Gjorge Ivanov against the UBK service throw an additional light on the actions of this branch of the secret service with regard to securing former Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski.
The UBK prepared a classified report which was apparently unlawfully published by a Criminal Court judge who ordered detention against former Transportation Minister and a frequent Gruevski co-defendant Mile Janakieski. The report makes it clear that the UBK is surveilling the activities of President Ivanov. Janakieski was detained after he met with Ivanov, allegedly for the crime of asking him for pardon. President Ivanov said that the report is full of falsehoods, such as that the communication was being done through intermediaries, but also, more worryingly, that it reveals UBK surveillance of the President’s office. On top of this, the publication of the classified report is likely a crime in itself.
Still, the revelations on UBK activities against high profile defendants in one of the numerous criminal cases against former VMRO-DPMNE officials throw fresh doubt on claims by Prime Minister Zaev and Interior Minister Oliver Spasovski, that they had no information about Gruevski’s movements prior to his departure for Hungary, where he claims political asylum. It’s extremely unlikely that the UBK service was keeping a close watch on Janakieski, to the point of surveilling the work of the President, but was not following Gruevski. VMRO-DPMNE condemned Gruevski’s departure, but also expressed serious doubts that the Zaev and Spasovski led security apparatus, with its “unlimited resources”, forgot to follow Gruevski, a person who was target of Zaev’s ire and defamation for years and was treated as political enemy number one. On top of criticism from the general public, Zaev and Spasovski were criticized by activists and legal experts close to their own party, who demanded accountability for the security lapse which happened on their watch.
Janakieski followed court ordered security measures to the letter, but was never the less detained a day after Gruevski reported he is in Budapest, along with former Government Secretary General Kiril Bozinovski. Janakieski’s defense team called this a revenge detention which is not justified by the actions of the client, while Janakieski himself said that this is like bolting the stable door after the horse has fled.
President Ivanov appalled by copied detention order, demands answers from the UBK and judicial authorities
Macedonian President Gjorge Ivanov said he is appalled by how the Skopje Criminal Court copied a detention order in the cases against former Government officials Mile Janakieski and Kiril Bozinovski, even forgetting to correct obvious mistakes in the haste. President Ivanov is especially appalled by how Janakieski’s contact with him is used to justify the detention, based on a fraudulent report by the UBK secret service and likely wiretapping of the President’s communications.
– In the detention order against Bozinovski, the court again cites the identical UBK report that was cited in the Janakieski case. Again the President is wrongfully cited as a reason for the detention. We categorically deny that Kirl Bozinovski asked, personally or through an intermediary, for a meeting with President Ivanov. We also deny ever meeting an intermediary of Janakieski, as cited in the UBK report. The Office of the President of the Republic of Macedonia demands to know whether a case of unlawful wiretapping is being covered up by mentioning made up sources by the UBK, the Office of the President said through a press release on Friday.
Janakieski and Bozinovski were detained on Wednesday, even though they were faithfully following all court orders put in place to secure their presence in the country and at trial hearings in cases against them. They were detained a day after former Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski, in whose administrations they served, left Macedonia for Hungary where he is claiming asylum citing death threats and political persecution. The detention orders prepared by the court quote a still classified UBK report, whose very publication likely constitutes a violation of the law on classified information by the judge. The text of the two orders is clearly copied, given that the Bozinovski order contains a number of mistakes copied over from the Janakieski order.
The President again calls on the Interior Ministry and the UBK secret service to determine who is responsible for unlawful surveillance of the President’s work. He also called on the Intelligence Oversight Committee of the Parliament, the Council of Public Prosecutors, the Judicial Council and the Directorate for Classified Information to get involved in the case. The President has also notified foreign diplomatic representatives in Macedonia about the developing situation with the detentions.
Pressed for answers on Gruevski, Zaev raises prospect he was kidnapped by Hungary
Macedonian Prime Minister Zoran Zaev today raised the possibility that former Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski was kidnapped and said that he wants answers from Hungary, where Gruevski is claiming political asylum.
– We need to investigate whether Gruevski left the country voluntarily, or if he was maybe kidnapped. I expect Gruevski and Hungary to provide answers, Zaev said at a press conference.
Gruevski was sentenced to two years in prison over an armored vehicle purchased by the Interior Ministry during his term in office, a case which he calls entirely politically motivated given that the vehicle was purchased and is still in use, and he gained nothing from the purchase. He was expected to begin serving out his sentence, and police made several attempts to detain him earlier this week, before he notified the public over Facebook that he is in Budapest, claiming asylum due to death threats he has received. Zaev today denied that Gruevski was being threatened with death.
It is still unclear how he got to Hungary. Albania informed that he used one of its border crossings to enter Montenegro. Zaev said that his Government will do all in its power to return Gruevski to Macedonia to serve out his sentence.
