Gunman kills four in Denver-area shooting spree before he is killed by police

DENVER, Dec 27 (Reuters) - A lone gunman shot four people to death and wounded three, including a police officer, on Monday in a Denver-area shooting spree that unfolded at several locations and ended with police killing the suspect, authorities said.

Investigators have yet to determine a motive for the rampage, which began around 5 p.m. when the gunman shot and killed two women and wounded a man near downtown Denver, Police Chief Paul Pazen said a news briefing.

The suspect then fled in a car and fatally shot a man in east Denver's Cheesman Park neighborhood, before opening fire again in a west Denver community where no one was hit, Pazen said. According to Pazen, the suspect twice exchanged gunfire from his vehicle with Denver officers pursuing him, disabling a police cruiser.

From there, the gunman drove into the neighboring city of Lakewood, where he shot and killed a fourth person inside an unspecified business, according to Lakewood Police spokesman John Romero.

The gunman fled from Lakewood police when they attempted to pull him over and engaged in a running gun battle with officers before fleeing on foot and entering a hotel, where he shot and wounded a clerk, Romero said.

He then shot at police officers again, wounding one of them, before police shot him dead, Romero told reporters. Authorities did not publicly identify the suspect, and said circumstances leading to the shooting remained under investigation.

The conditions of the wounded officer and civilians were not immediately known, Romero said.

Anne Wilson, a shopper who was inside a cellular phone store in Lakewood when gunfire erupted nearby, told a Denver-based NBC-affiliate TV station she heard "seven or eight gunshots, and then like another set of maybe five more."

Wilson said she and other customers were quickly ushered by store employees into a back room behind security gates until the danger had passed. "It is scary, scary times we live in," she said.

In Heidelberg, Germany shot a man in a lecture hall of the University of Heidelberg and several people got injured. The shooter himself is also dead. So far, motives and further circumstances are unknown. Imo it is only a matter of time that he maybe was against corona.

A hostage situation is unfolding at an Apple Store in Amsterdam, with police closing off the nearby area and positioning armed officers outside. One local media outlet said eyewitnesses had reported hearing gunshots at the scene.

Footage shared on social media shows a large police presence in the area, with the surrounding streets apparently devoid of pedestrians. Some of the videos posted show a gunman inside the store gesturing while holding onto a possible hostage.

Unconfirmed reports from local media suggest the hostage-taker has demanded €2 million in bitcoin or else he will “blow up” the store. Employees reportedly remain trapped inside as the police presence outside the Apple store grows.

One clip, apparently filmed from a café across the street, shows a man in a dark hoodie holding a second individual by the neck with one hand and waving around a gun with the other. Police are shown in another video running to the scene to join officers already positioned across from the Apple Store, some with their weapons drawn.

“Due to a report at a shop on Leidseplein, police are now deployed there,” the city’s law enforcement agency said in a statement on Twitter. In a later update, it confirmed a hostage situation was ongoing and that specialist units were being brought in to help “get the situation under control.”

The store in question is in central Amsterdam’s Leidseplein – usually a busy hub of nightlife and entertainment. Police were called to the square at around 5.40pm local time to attend what was reported to be an armed robbery in progress.

According to Dutch outlet, Het Parool, the incident began when two masked men tried to leave the store. On seeing police nearby, they reportedly grabbed a bystander and went back into the Apple shop, taking the man inside as a hostage. Officers have since evacuated buildings close to the Apple Store, while visitors to cafes in the area have reportedly been told to stay away from the windows.

Another man who has "lost it" in Singapore.

He was wielding a sword in the middle of the street. He attacked three cars and a passer by. He slipped while attacking the passer by and was immediately subdued by the person he attacked and other people nearby. Video in the article below. Initial reports just described the attack - but later headlines after his arrest stated that he had swallowed "unknown pills".

There was actually in total 3 knife/blade attacks on the same day (14th March) in Singapore. Besides the sword wielding man posted above; there was a man arrested for throwing a knife at the police; and another for slashing residents with a razor blade.

NEW YORK, April 12 (Reuters) - Multiple people were shot and at least 13 were injured on Tuesday in a New York City subway station, the fire department said, in the latest spasm of violence in the city's sprawling transit system.
The shootings occurred during the morning commute at the 36th Street subway station in Brooklyn's Sunset Park neighborhood.
CNN and other media reported that at least five people were shot, citing sources in the New York Fire Department, but Reuters could not immediately confirm the specific number. It was not immediately clear whether the number of injured people included those who were shot.

The whereabouts of the perpetrator were unclear.
Juliana Fonda, a broadcast engineer at radio station WNYC, told local news website Gothamist that she heard shots while in an adjoining subway car.
“The reaction of the passengers was terrifying because they were trying to get into our car away from something that was happening in the back of the train," she said. "None of us in the front of the train knew what was going on, but people were pounding and looking behind them, running, trying to get onto the train."

She added that she heard "a lot of loud pops" and that there was smoke in another train car.
Authorities shut down a dozen or so blocks around the 36th Street subway station and another nearby station, and closed off the immediate area with yellow crime scene tape.
The New York Police Department warned people to stay away from the area, which is known for its thriving Chinatown, views of the Statue of Liberty and Industry City, a sprawling warehouse district that has become home to many creative businesses.

In recent months New York has experienced a rise in gun violence in general and a spate of attacks in the city's transit system, one of the world's oldest and most extensive.
Local and federal law enforcement officials gathered at the scene, watched by small crowds of people on sidewalks huddled against buildings in a drizzle. Many officers could be seen donning heavy-duty armor and helmets.
Konrad Aderer, a commuter, was in the stairwell about to enter the 36th Street station when he saw a man with bleeding legs explaining what had happened to a worker at the station booth.
"He just said that there was a lot of people bleeding," Aderer told Fox News in a phone interview. "He took it upon himself to make sure that people were alerted, despite being injured."
The fire department initially said that undetonated explosive devices were found at the station, but police later said in a Tweet there were no active explosive devices.
New York City Mayor Eric Adams was being briefed on the situation, his press secretary said in a statement shared on Twitter. Adams recently tested positive for COVID-19.

- A new one in Texas.

At least 4 significant shootings in the US this month. Again, you read the words: race, supremacist, radical, right, left, and whatnot.

The Grandpa in Chief's administration and Dems are pushing for gun control again.

The environment is certainly tense in the US with the economic and food crises already underway. But maybe triggering some programmed individuals could help to increase chaos and polarization, and prepare the scenario for a civil war?

May 24 - Uvalde, Texas - Robb Elementary School shooting: Seventeen people were killed and multiple people were hospitalized during a shooting at Robb Elementary School. It was the deadliest school shooting in Texas history and occurred four years after a gunman fatally shot 10 people at Santa Fe High School in the Houston area. Abbott said the shooter was an 18-year-old male who resided in Uvalde. He said it's believed the suspect, who he named Salvador Ramos, abandoned his vehicle, then entered the school with a handgun and possibly a rifle.

May 19 - Chicago Illinois - Magnificent Mile shooting: An individual opened fire during an altercation between two groups of teenagers, killing two and injuring eight. The shooter engaged in a chase with police in the subway, during which a woman fell onto the train tracks and was electrocuted during the chaos.

May 15 - California - Laguna Woods shooting: A man suspected of being motivated by anti-Taiwanese sentiment opened fire at a church, killing one and wounding five others, before being physically restrained by churchgoers.

May 14 - New York - Buffalo shooting: An 18-year-old white supremacist clad in body armor opened fire at a Tops supermarket, killing ten, including a security guard, and wounding three others. The suspected shooter, who was taken into custody, described his political beliefs as "mild-moderate authoritarian left" in a manifesto reportedly written by him. Leftist politicians and pundits have attempted to pin the shooting on numerous right-leaning figures, including President Trump and Fox News host Tucker Carlson.

Apr 12 - New York City Subway attack: Ten people were shot when a gunman motivated by black supremacy opened fire on a New York City Subway train as it approached the 36th Street station in the Sunset Park neighborhood. Immediately before the attack, the assailant donned a gas mask and threw smoke bombs. The incident caused 19 others to be injured as they fled. The suspect was arrested the next day.

Feb 19 - Portland - Normandale Park shooting: Near a racial justice protest, a man allegedly confronted a group of protestors and argued with them, before pulling out a gun and opening fire, killing one and wounding four others. One of the people in the group allegedly returned fire and wounded the perpetrator. The Portland mass shooter has been identified as Ben Smith,44, who has a history of violence and has vocally talked about killing Antifa and BLM protesters in the past.

More horror on Tuesday. It is very sad but a necessary sign of the times that school children are now regularly taught how to react when their classes are confronted by gun wielding maniacs. The statistics for school shootings are off the scale.

On Monday, an FBI report found that "active shooter" rampage attacks have doubled since the coronavirus began in 2020. This won't surprise anyone who reads this forum. Something else to blame on covid 19 or related to the vaccinations perhaps?

The sessions on Sandy Hook 👆21 December 2012 And so much more considering the Signs of Our Times

Whoopi Goldberg Threatens AR15 Owners, 'Get Ready' We're Coming For Them
Snip:
Self described “Republican” Ana Navarro chimed in, in agreement with her liberal cohost.

“What happened after Sandy Hook? We didn’t pass legislation. We taught kids how to do more drills, and we invented bulletproof backpacks,” she said. “And so I would like Republicans — and let’s just say Republicans, because they are the ones that are standing in the way. It is not Congress. Congress, the House of Representatives, has passed a gun reform bill that’s been sitting in the Senate now for months and months. It’s going to get called up again. Republicans are being held hostage by the NRA, which is a gun lobby and a special interest that holds the purse strings.”

She then, inexplicably, managed to bring abortion into the conversation.

“So I would like Republicans to show the same energy that they do for banning books, and banning conversations about gays, and banning conversations about black history, and regulating my uterus, I want them to show the same energy for banning guns,” she said. “There is no reason why an 18 year old should have access to weapons of war that can kill children in a matter of seconds.”

And then Goldberg went into her gun control rant.
