There doesn't seem to be any official source for the claim that Howell told the SM police these things about the CIA etc. All I can find is a report that he referred to his work for a known security company as "CIA" on a FB post.

Authorities on Sunday were trying to determine the intentions of an Indiana man with a cache of weapons, ammunition and explosive-making materials in his car and apparent plans to attend the L.A. Pride festival in West Hollywood.

Santa Monica Police Chief Jacqueline Seabrooks initially said on Twitter that the 20-year-old man told one of her officers after he was arrested that he wanted “to harm Gay Pride event.”

But Lt. Saul Rodriguez said later the tweet was a misstatement. "Unfortunately, she was given incorrect information initially, which indicated that that statement was made; however, that statement never was made. He did indicate that he was planning on going to the Pride festival but beyond anything as far as motives or his intentions that statement was never made nor did any officer receive that statement."

Police identified the suspect as James Wesley Howell of Indiana. A Facebook page for someone with the same name in Indiana shows a young man posing next to a white Acura with the same license plate as the car searched in Santa Monica for the weapons and explosives.

At a news conference Sunday afternoon, police stressed they were still trying to figure out what Howell planned to do with the weapons. (Article continues.)

Another ‘Voice’ singer shot dead in Chicago

A Chicago singer who appeared on the Mexican version of The Voice in 2011 has died after he was shot in an ambush while celebrating his birthday with friends.

The Cook County Medical Examiner’s office confirmed that 45-year-old Alejandro “Jano” Fuentes died on Saturday. He was shot three times in the head late on Thursday outside his Tras Bambalinas School on Chicago’s southwest side.

The attack happened less than a week after the killing of Christina Grimmie, who appeared on the US version of the show. Authorities say a man shot her while she was signing autographs after a performance in Orlando, Florida. The man then killed himself.

Fuentes got into his car with friends and an armed man suddenly ordered Fuentes out of that vehicle and shot him.

Howell told police he was turning himself in because he wanted protection. His story was that he had been assured by his recruiters that he would not be harmed in the shooting but, when he heard on the news that Omar Mateen, the lead gunman in the Orlando group, had been killed by sniper fire, he realized he was being set up as a patsy and would be killed.

Soon after that, the FBI took over the investigation, and information to the public was filtered to remove any facts that might show the Orlando shooting as a planned event involving others. It is important to remember that the police officers who are the source of this story choose to remain anonymous, so it cannot be independently verified at this time, but circumstantial evidence supports it. For example:

(1) After the FBI took charge of the investigation, Police Chief Jacqueline Seabrooks changed her original report that Howell was part of a group of five people who intended to do harm at the gay-pride event in West Hollywood. Her altered report made no mention of anyone other than Howell.

(2) The web site that reported this story is still carrying the article without triggering legal action against it. That is significant because, if the story is false, immediate legal action would be expected. If it is true, Howell will be killed or ‘disappeared’ to prevent him from talking, but the last thing the perpetrators would want is a public trial where witnesses can be called to testify.

This news story could be one of the most important reports ever published in the annals of journalism.

That’s quite a statement but, when you consider the nature of its content, it is no exaggeration to say that it has the potential to fundamentally change the relationship between the United States government and the American people, and that could lead to a profound change, not only in America, but the entire world.

The story still is still unfolding, and it is likely that officialdom either will pull it off the Internet or do everything possible to discredit it but, unlike most false-flag scenarios, there are many people on the outside of the plot who can verify the accuracy of this one. In fact, there may even be an entire police department to do that. If so, the sheer number of witnesses could outweigh the threats against job security or physical safety. We shall see.

Interesting was that his apartment wasn't even taped off by investigators. Press could walk right in and see the 'orgy of evidence' including his expired firearms license on the counter along with pamphlets about Islam.

Everyone attending this weekend's Pride celebration at San Francisco's Civic Center will be searched, and searched quite thoroughly. Both the Bay Area Reporter and KRON 4 report that all attendees will be forced to pass through a metal detector, and the latter notes that after getting through the first phase of security attendees will be subject to a second round of search. News of the heightened security measures comes shortly after the hate crime and massacre at the Orland gay nightclub Pulse earlier this month.

On an SF Pride page dedicated to event security, organizers break down what will and will not be permitted at the annual celebration. Let's start with what's permitted, as it's a much shorter list. Those items include "soft bags with a maximum size of 18 [inches] x 18 [inches]" and "authorized animals, such as guide dogs, assisting those with disabilities."

As for what's prohibited? That might be better off communicated with bullet points:

Any bag over 18” x 18” in size
Alcohol
Coolers or containers of any type
Glass bottles of any kind
Illegal drugs or substances
Firearms, fireworks & explosives
Weapons
Dangerous weapons including any type of edged weapon to include knives, impact weapons and electric pulse weapons

Smoking cigarettes or e-cigarettes, chewing tobacco

"There will be a significant police presence at all Pride activities in the city, with both uniformed and plain clothes officers on duty to monitor the events," note organizers. "Safety is everyone’s responsibility, including participants, organizers, security staff and law enforcement."

Violence has erupted in and around the Pride celebration before, with the bystander shooting of a 64-year-old man in the arm last year only one recent example.

The Civic Center Pride celebration runs from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, and from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday.

Howell was arrested around 5 a.m. after residents called police to report suspicious behavior by a man who parked his white Acura sedan facing the wrong way. When officers arrived they saw an assault rifle sitting in Howell's passenger seat, Santa Monica police Lt. Saul Rodriguez said.

That prompted them to search the whole car. They found two more assault rifles, high-capacity magazines and ammunition and a five-gallon bucket with chemicals that could be used to make an explosive device, police said.

Santa Monica Police Chief Jacqueline Seabrooks initially tweeted that Howell told officers he wanted to "do harm" at the gay pride event, but she later corrected her statement to say only that Howell said he was going to the parade, about seven miles from the scene of the arrest.

Authorities would answer no further questions on Howell or his motives. The FBI is leading the investigation.

However, after the FBI quickly took over the case, a Santa Monica police spokesman Saul Rodriguez indicated that Seabrooks was mistaken and offered that the Santa Monica detectives who were working the case are “not aware of what the suspect’s intentions were at this point.”

The official version of this story released by the LA Times falsely claims that on early Sunday, Santa Monica police received a call about a suspected prowler who was knocking on a resident’s door and window about 5 a.m. in the 1700 block of 11th Street, Santa Monica police said.

Patrol officers responded and encountered Howell, who was sitting in a car registered in Indiana, police said. Officers inspected the car and found three assault rifles, high-capacity ammunition and a 5-gallon bucket containing “chemicals capable of forming an improvised explosive device,” police said.

According to two department sources, Howell called the Santa Monica police on Sunday morning claiming that he needed protection from the CIA. Howell further elaborated to the dispatcher stating that he “had been set up by the CIA – they are going to kill me.”

According to Howell, he was in LA to meet with another person in a collaborated attack on the gay communities in both Florida and Los Angeles.

Howell additionally stated that, “everything has gone south. Dan was gone when I got here. They killed the leader of the Florida attack this morning. They are going to kill me. I need protection.”

According to sources within the police department’s investigation Howell indicated to officers who first made contact with him that Howell claimed he was one of five people involved in a planned Sunday attack on both the east and west coasts.

Howell stated that he was suppose to “hook up” late Saturday night with his contact in LA who was suppose to have more weapons and chemicals to mix with the Tannerite he was in possession of.

“When I got here, Dan was gone. I went to his apartment and he had cleared out….I tried calling him but he never answered me,” said Howell.

When questioned about the other four people involved in the plot, Howell was only familiar with the first names of three of the alleged suspects, naming his contact in LA – Dan and two of the three contacts in Florida, Omar and Brandy.

Speaking of the suspect killed in the Pulse Bar massacre in Florida, Howell stated, “Omar was not suppose to be killed. They lied to us – Omar and Brandy were suppose to get away.”

I'm thinking, there might be some truth in James Wesley Howell's story?

Reports state that Howell drove from Indiana to Santa Monica, in the early morning hours and stopped to pick up his contact - Dan - who was suppose to have more weapons and chemicals to mix with the Tannerite he was in possession of. Howell discovered Dan had cleared out his apartment and couldn't be contacted by phone. When he heard on the news "that Omar Mateen, the lead gunman in the Orlando group, had been killed by sniper fire, he realized he was being set up as a patsy and would be killed."
Howell called the Santa Monica police, "claiming that he needed protection from the CIA. "It's stated "Howell was arrested around 5 A.M."

Prior to Howell's arrest, Omar Mateen had entered the Pulse Bar in Orlando at 2 A.M and began firing shots, killing and wounding several patrons. A Security Officer at the Pulse Bar began firing and Omar retreated to a restroom, taking several hostages with him. Then there was a 3 hour stand-offwhich ended when a SWAT Team entered the building, in what was described as a “hail of bullets” - before Omar was killed?

No one has explained - why it took the SWAT Team - 3 hours to organize and storm the Pulse Bar with wounded and dead patrons inside?

Howell claimed, he was to pick up Dan and then drive 7 miles to the Gay Pride event. Was the 3 hour lag time, so that the planned attack at the Gay Pride event would send a second shock wave - back to back - through the gay community? One in Florida and another in California with Daesh claiming responsibility?

The attack by Daesh affiliate Omar Mateen on a gay nightclub in Orlando, Florida, left some 50 people dead and 53 others injured on June 12.

In a 911 call shortly after the onset of the attack, Mateen swore allegiance to the leader the Takfiri group.

Mateen’s link to Daesh “automatically leads to people like Ashton Carter using the event to promote more wars in the Middle East,” E Michael Jones, editor at Culture Wars Magazine, said in a phone interview with Press TV on Tuesday.

“The United States is directly involved in promoting these groups in the Middle East,” he noted.

Many believe that US policies in the Middle East, including the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, have prepared the ground for extremist groups like Daesh to emerge and flourish.

Almost 50 years ago... crazy. My grandmother lived in Austin at the time and has told me stories about that infamous day. She lived off 32nd Street, which is only 9 blocks away from the tower. She said she could faintly hear the gunfire from her patio as she was listening to the broadcast on the radio. She told me it was so surreal to everyone because nothing like that had ever happened before. It was a much different period of time in the 60's, nothing like it is today. Time stopped for that 90 minutes.

My grandmother was also in Dallas at the motorcade when JFK was assassinated in 1963, just three years before the tower shooting. She didn't actually see it happen, but she says she and a couple of her friends saw him drive by about 5 minutes before it did. Pretty crazy she experienced both historical events.

I just ran into a reaction which never occurred to me.

I mentioned somewhere the connection between shooters universally being on psychoactive pharmaceuticals and found myself rebuffed with hurt indignation. "We can't talk about that because it would stigmatize those with disabilities and would discourage people from seeking help." (Words to that effect.)

While I can sympathize with this viewpoint, it struck me sideways.

I'm not saying anybody should stigmatize anybody. I'm trying to point out that such individuals are being *used* precisely because they are easy targets for manipulation. I made an effort to clarify this.

Just another roadblock to reality.

Anyway, it brought up something else...

I think there is another aspect to all of this meticulous effort to not see; it is more than just fear. It is also a clumsy sort of compassion, and it is built into the process of people becoming aware as souls. -That is, the drive to attack those who are seen as oppressive or "shaming" of minority groups, (trans-gender politics) is often, I think, coming from people who are not directly affected. They just perceive unfairness and hurt and become angry.

And that's pretty cool, I think. It means putting yourself into another person's shoes. Hurting with others despite not being in harm's way yourself. That's where souls come from, it would seem.

However...

I think during certain early stages of soul-growing, the realization that "There are others who hurt and I love them, so I don't want them to hurt!" can and often does overwhelm larger rationality. Sometimes hurting is required. Truth hurts.

"Having learned this glorious connection, We resolve to do nothing to hurt others. If that means pretending reality isn't what it is, so be it! People have flaws and rough spots in their characters which need attention.., but pointing that stuff out hurts, and I refuse to hurt anybody, so instead we will all collectively agree to pretend that the problems do not exist. If we do not... we cause pain, and we must be compassionate!"

I think it might be a natural stage of soul growth. -Like adolescence; awkward and painful and full of confusing new energy. But it is going somewhere.

I just came across an odd report of 7 stabbed at a protest rally outside the California state Capitol building in Sacramento. The article goes into all these details on the Traditionalist Worker Party (TWP) that obtained a permit to rally and a group that showed up to demonstrate against them. A member of the TWP states, "one of their marchers had been stabbed in an artery and six of the counter-protesters had also been stabbed." No other details of those stabbed - like if they were admitted to a hospital or if they were treated at the scene by emergency medics - nothing? Just that "no one" has been arrested?

At least seven people were stabbed Sunday when counter-protesters clashed with members of right-wing extremists groups that planned to hold a rally outside the California state Capitol building in Sacramento, authorities said.

California Highway Patrol Officer George Granada said about 30 members of the Traditionalist Worker Party were gathering for a rally around noon Sunday when they were met by about 400 counter-protesters and a fight broke out.

As people tried to leave the area, smaller fights broke out, Granada said. He said no arrests had been made as of Sunday afternoon.

He said the Capitol remained on lockdown three hours after the large fight broke out but that things had calmed down and only about 70 "anti-fascists" remained in the area.

Videos from the melee posted on social media showed mounted police officers dispersing a group of mainly youth, some with their faces covered, while some throw stones toward a man holding a stick and being shielded by police officers in riot gear.

Sacramento Fire Department spokesman Chris Harvey said many other people had cuts, scrapes and bruises.

"There was a large number of people carrying sticks and rushing to either get into the melee or see what was going on," Harvey said.

The victims were all present while a protest took place, said Sacramento Police spokesman Matt McPhail but he said it was still unclear whether and how they were involved.

The Traditionalist Workers Party had scheduled and received a permit to protest at noon Sunday in front of the Capitol. McPhail said a group showed up to demonstrate against them.

The Southern Poverty Law Center has described TWP as a group formed in 2015 as the political wing of the Traditionalist Youth Network, which aims to "indoctrinate high school and college students into white nationalism."

Matthew Heimbach, chairman of the Traditionalist Worker Party, told the Los Angeles Times that his group and the Golden State Skinheads organized the Sunday rally. Heimbach said that in the clash, one of their marchers had been stabbed in an artery and six of the counter-protesters had also been stabbed.

Vice chairman Matt Parrott, who was not present at the Sacramento rally, blamed "leftist radicals" for instigating the violence.

A message left at a phone number for the Traditionalist Worker Party was not immediately returned to The Associated Press.

A post recently uploaded to site of the Traditionalist Youth Network said TWP members planned to march in Sacramento to protest against globalization and in defense of their right to free expression. They said they expected to be outnumbered 10-to-1 by counter-protesters.

"We concluded that it was time to use this rally to make a statement about the precarious situation our race is in," the Traditionalist Youth Network statement said. "With our folk on the brink of becoming a disarmed, disengaged, and disenfranchised minority, the time to do something was yesterday!"

The clash Sunday follows a confrontation in March between Ku Klux Klan members and counter-protesters in Anaheim, California in which three people were stabbed.

No other details of those stabbed - like if they were admitted to a hospital or if they were treated at the scene by emergency medics - nothing? Just that "no one" has been arrested?

New York State Governor stated that authorities of the US northeastern state of New York will create a monument to honor the memory of the deadly shooting in the US city of Orlando.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo said New York state will pledge up to $1 million for the creation of a monument in New York City dedicated to “the victims of Orlando and the victims of hate crimes everywhere.”

The governor announced the LGBT Memorial Commission Sunday morning ahead of the city’s gay pride parade.

“We want this terrible event remembered and we want the lesson learned so it never happens again,” Cuomo said.

He said the commission of 10 people will pick an artist, a design for the monument and its location by the end of the year.

Cuomo said possible locations include Christopher Park, Hudson River Park or Battery Park City “in the gaze of the Statue of Liberty.”

He also announced that the Stonewall Inn would be designated as a state historic site after President Barack Obama designated it as the first national monument to gay rights on Friday.

A police raid on the bar in 1969 helped catalyze the gay rights movement. Cuomo sees the Orlando massacre as a modern-day Stonewall, WCBS 880’s Peter Haskell reported.

“It has opened the eyes of this world to the injustice that is still done to the LGBT community,” he said.

The shooting at the Pulse nightclub left 49 victims dead and dozens more hurt in what became the worst mass shooting in U.S. history.

ISIS Throws Some Footage Of San Francisco And Las Vegas In New Threat Video

In a new, essentially empty threat video from ISIS/ISIL recruiters, partly in Arabic but featuring other languages as well, including French, images of the aftermath of the shooting and of Mateen are juxtaposed with images of soft targets like the Las Vegas strip, and random cell phone video that tourists took on the Golden Gate Bridge and on the Powell Street cable car. (Fast forward all the way to the last minute of the video above.)

As CBS 5 translates, part of the footage is accompanied by one of the armed men in the video saying, "Arise, o Muslims and kill the unbelievers in their own homes."

The station speaks with its own "security analyst" who tries to draw some connection between the video's release and this past weekend's Pride celebrations, but that doesn't appear to supported in the video itself.

Also, as the Chronicle reports, the French-speaking man in the video refers to Mateen as one of "my brothers," and says, "You have pleased our hearts, you have pleased the hearts of Muslims," adding something about ignoring all "hate from the hypocrites of the Muslim community."

Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez, who sits on the U.S. Homeland Security Committee and who is running against CA Attorney General Kamala Harris for Barbara Boxer's Senate seat in the fall, reminds us that threats against the Bay Area have basically come on the regular since September 11. "Let me tell you something about the Bay Area and California: we’ve never been spared," she tells CBS 5. "We’ve had just really good intelligence and people working every day to keep us safe."
