My Daughter Goes to the Gym

another message from my daughter:

Men usually take their workouts more seriously than women (I am generalizing here), but there are
some things I've noted @ the gym (any gym) that drive me bananas.

Most of these irritations are created by young girls - the older a woman is, the more likely she is
to value her time and to put her heart into getting a great workout. Most young girls are there to see
how many numbers they can get from the guys. I understand that, but like they say, "don't stand too
close to me!"

- Women who insist on wearing full makeup and having their hair done @ the gym. (What is this, a
commercial for Cosmopolitan?)

- People in general who do not wipe down the equipment after they've just sweated all over it.
(Men, this is mainly for you)

And my NUMBER ONE pet peeve:

-Woman AND men who COAT themselves in perfume or cologne before the gym who get next to you while
you're busting out some great cardio, making you want to gag and call someone for a GAS MASK!

Aaacccckkkk!!!

it's a status thing. There is this subset of "women who lunch" who insist on going everywhere -- shopping, visiting with their kids at school -- as if they have just come out of a gym or a tennis court glamor shoot. They are always wearing spotless workout clothes and full make-up-hair-manicure-pedicure whatever. Goes together with a Lexus SUV and a cup of organic chai from Trader Joes in the cup holder. I mean, you just have to laugh :)

If you don't look all maked-up, with perfume all over you and wearing new Puma clothes these days at the gym, you do not belong to the ''fresh'' and ''beautiful'' new community! And I think that counts for any place... However the McDonalds workers don't look always that maked-up, mostly very tired and sweaty....
