New show: NewsReal with Joe & Niall

No show today folks, it's Christmas!

No major new developments this week, although the drone episode is ongoing. We asked about it in a session with the Cs last night, so you'll have more info to chew on in due course.

I'm nearly finished watching the Christmas show. Regarding the population differences between the USA and China and mass immigration into the USA to keep the US exceptional and number #1, it wasn't mentioned that one way to level the population difference is not just an increase of the US population but also a significant decrease in the Chinese population, and remember how the Chinese got spooked during covid and started locking down as if they doing a dry run? Well maybe that is on the cards, not been mentioned so far and the video is now on russian boats.

It wasn't mentioned during the show but you're right, that's one way to level the playing field and we've had more than inklings that this tactic is being researched. Whether it can work and whether it will be used is a different story. But it is something to think about and keep in mind.

Indeed, something that would effect generalized depopulation is probably considered as a way to reset the chessboard. Of course, it would most likely end up wrecking the chessboard (and most of the players) but at this stage, they're probably willing to risk it. In fact, having a global economic collapse as a result of a deadly pandemic is probably seen by those types as a 'samson option'. And out of the ashes, the USA, having protected itself to some extent, would rise first and lead us all into a brave new world, much like the old one, but just worse.

ok, here's a thought! Why do you need many millions in the USA? A blockade of China! All those cheap goods from china will then have to be made in the USA (or elsewhere) using cheap labour. Here's a vid of trump saying 'we need a lot of people coming in, we're gonna have jobs like we've never had before". Or maybe its just X blowing things way of of proportion.

Regarding you mention of Liz Truss, this interview popped up on ytube, it was posted 3 days ago. The comment section is full of support for her.

Liz Truss: The Deep State, Grooming Gangs, Economic Reform & Free Speech | The Peter McCormack Show

Liz Truss is a British politician who served as the UK's Prime Minister and Leader of the Conservative Party, known for her advocacy of free markets, economic reform, and her candid critique of the political establishment. In this interview we discuss the UK’s broken political system, the rise of unaccountable bureaucracy, and the fight for free speech. Truss also reveals the challenges she faced in government, the hidden forces behind Britain’s failures, and the critical reforms needed to turn the country around. From immigration and economic policies to media bias and free speech, we dive into the deep issues shaping the UK’s future.

I have briefly watched the opening segments at this time will watch later, it seem strange to me all of a sudden to comes out of the limelight as Starmer is possibly about to go down. I wonder will she renter into the fray if another election is called, a kinder gentler Conservative face...

FYI: This week, we have 4 new cameras and a completely changed setup video-wise, so we might be a little late in starting - and/or there may be some glitches. Hopefully, the stream quality will be better overall.
I guess we'll find out soon enough!
🤞

Coming up today at 4pm ET on NewsReal:

Trump's Golden Era Begins: Western Civilization Ends?

Week one of Trump's second term has been a doozy! This week on NewsReal, we look at the good, the bad, and the ugly developments in the whirlwind of activity since Trump took office, and warn that this may not be the panacea for Western civilization that many wish for...

Yeah, they managed to make it louder, but that also made the hiss louder. The signal to noise ratio should be much better than it is. There's definitely something wrong with the setup.

So, I finally solved this problem...

The FetHeads need to be placed immediately at the output of the mic, not at the mixer ! D'OH! I should have realized that, but didn't read enough about it at the time. Low-noise amps always go as close to the source as possible. I knew this, but didn't apply it to audio mixing. 😖

I also found a page on Shure's site where they explain quite clearly that the SMB7 needs ~60dB of gain, which is a lot... and which our mixer provides, but it's a Behringer so at close to 60dB (the max), it's quite noisy. Not sure why the SMB7 itself doesn't come with a note to that effect, but oh well.

So now each mic has 27dB of gain from the FetHead, and about 30dB of gain on the mixer. At 62dB total gain (27 FetHead + 35 mixer), there is the typical "too much gain echo", so I turned them down a bit today. We're also now using both the compander on the mixer channels and the compander and noise gate in Xsplit.

The result is the best audio we've had yet! And it only took 2 years and reading countless Reddit and forum posts. 🤪
