New Year's Eve lights: UFOs or too much revelry?

I had just arrived from Santiago De Chile this morning. I was there during the new year festivities but I was still home. I have seen something at midnight and now I found this article. I'm a little shocked to read this article so excuse me.

At midnight I could not sleep because of the thunder-like noise of fireworks and of people partying :)
I got out to the backyard and I saw that amazing orange brighting star who moved very rapidely in the sky and as it moves between the stars it was brighter and it scintillation was great (so the object was small and high yet very bright). I saw some other objects on the night skies of Chile some nights before but I would not talk about here. I have just to say that IMHO, those people cited in the article have probably seen something in the sky.

actually the article is about san diego and not santiago... didn't find how to erase this post :(

Glad to see this news article. I was up late, looking out my window when I saw this group of red lights come across the sky, there were a mass of them, around 12 or so, or lots of little lights on a big thang...soundless, after it passed there was a bright white flash in the night. May I add that the night was clear, I was sober, and it was around 1-2am PST. I see a few strange things up here in the skies at night, but this was the strangest ever.

Christmas eve also brought some lights in the California sky, maybe the same one as over San Diego, or one more of several? This one was further north in Shasta county.

Whatever the case, there are lots of meteorites flying around these days, most probably going unreported. And if their arrival has something to do with the "human experiential cycle", I wonder what kind of experiences 2008 will bring. Get the hard hats out!

UFO sighting? Firemen go toward the light

A Christmas Eve flash in the sky over northeastern Shasta County has some speculating about reindeer on fire or season's greetings from little green men.

But the celestial light show was probably just a meteorite, said Fall River Mills firefighter Quincy Hatch. [...]

And so it was in Mexico, actually it was described similarly as the San Diego's UFOs. Orange lights in Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve, moving at intervals.

Here is a pic and the link of the story (in Spanish):

Just remembered another story... A fire ball was reported in Argentina on the 30th and it was categorized as a UFO, but from the description, this one was probably a meteorite. The previous stories, I dunno.

One of the most impressive videos I've seen of UFOs was shot in Santiago. Impressive because it looks genuine. Check it out here:

It appears to have been shot in 2003.
