Will you put the ivermectin / other substances in capsules? It's a bit of a challenge, I think.
Not really…
This is the process that I follow:
1. First you need to find a ‘filler’ that you use to dilute the powder to get the correct dosage. You can use methyl-cellulose (relatively expensive) or maltodextrin (a sugar - cheap). Others have used rice flour, or the like.
2. I use “
The Capsule Machine” which comes in all the normal sizes (000 - 00 - 0 - 1 - 2 etc), with higher numbers denoting smaller capsules. You then need to source empty capsules (usually made from gelatin). They come in two ways, put together or base and cap separated. The former is cheaper, the latter is faster (about 30%).
3. First fill a range of capsules with just the filler to determine the average content of filler if the caps are tightly packed. Measure their total weight minus the empty capsules, and divide this by the number of caps and you get the filler per cap.
4. Determine the amount of active substance you’d like PER capsule. Subtract this from the filler amount and multiply both by the number of caps you want to fill (a tray in the above mentioned caps machine is 24 caps). This gives you the total amount of filler and the total amount of active substance. You then need to weigh the filler and the active substance and mix them THOROUGHLY together. As scale I use a 0.01g resolution scale, for this purpose it is sufficient. You can get them for about USD 20 on Amazon.
5. Put the caps into the caps machine and fill them with the mix, and tamp. Then put the caps onto the bases, which is really easy to do with this machine (while with others it’s a pain in the backend) - et voila!
The Capsule Machine is the best one I have tried. It is smaller than others (24 caps vs 50 - 100), but it is the fastest of all those I have used. I can make about 24 caps in less than 10 min. The machine comes with an excellent description of how to put things together. Once you’ve done it once, it’s easy. Just write down the recipe you used so that you don’t have to recalculate next time you need to refill.
