Painting of Famous People

Devar

Jedi
I wasn't sure to post this in "Tickle Me" or "Creative Acts", but this painting has been tickling my head all night.

Note this is a large 600kb image:

It was posted in a chat channel I frequent, but I can't find any other information on who painted it, nor any other information on it. It's a mystery. Ziza.ru seems to be some links site. Anyway, we busied ourselves in identifying as many people as we could. This is them so far. I'd love to know the rest, can anyone identify anyone?

Of course we probably have some incorrect, so point them out! And I really find it a marvelous artwork, what do you think?

Nice painting. Fun to look at and to try to identify this prominent cast.
One mistake might be Mark Twain, who doesn`t look much like the guy in the picture, who also seems to wear some bavarian looking dress.
The other clear mistake is Picasso. He`s in fact here:
The man between Lincoln and Spielberg is definitly Picasso.
The drinking buddy between FDR and Elvis could be Hemingway.
Beneath Che Guevara: Very propably Johann Wolfgang von Goethe.
Between Castro and Arafat: Marlon Brando in the role of the godfather.
Between Van Gogh and Picasso: Toulouse-Lautrec.
The painter you`ve mistakenly identified as Picasso could be Braque.
And lastly, could the uniform between Arafat and Pavarotti be General MacArthur?
More guesses: Between Sun Tzu and Confucius: Moses?
The man between Shirley and Einstein: Tolstoy?
Gimme more of those!

Wow, I think you certainly hit the nail on the head with those!
I agree with the Picasso mistake, looking at the eyebrows and cheeks makes it a lot more obvious. Also Twain. Hmm.

The only one that doesn't fit is MacArthur. All the other ones brought up great matches with google image search. :-)

Hi Devar, playing the nerdy kraut here: You`ve misspelled Goethe.:)
The guy under the table still tickles me, among others.

Oh thanks, I have too. :) Thanks again.

Edit: The guy under the table is Hans Christian Anderson, osit.
