Puts me in mind of the illusion of separateness. There's a "barrier" in the waters, but the waters have the same nature. Water is water, up or down, side to side, no matter how you "separate" it. And when the "barrier" is gone, it rushes back together

For the first pic, I thought the same thing as TheLostBoy, "as above, so below and vice versa." The original reminds me of my Navy days working the flight deck of an aircraft carrier; except that my view of the water was mostly grey and often matched the sky because that's what the ocean looks like when that far from land. I would call your view, Mediterranean blue! :) Thanks for sharing.
