What exactly is the pineal gland? In ‘New Age’ circles the term is casually thrown around in conjunction with talk about ‘awakening’, ‘ascension’, and ‘vibrant health’, but few are still very confused on it’s legitimacy or the correlation it has with health and well-being.

In scientific terms, what is referred to as the ‘mind’s eye’ is in fact the pineal gland, a small, pine-cone shaped endocrine gland in the brain that produces and secretes the hormone melatonin. It is believed to be responsible for the release of Dimethyltryptamine (DMT). Also referred to as the “third eye”, it has been known for centuries to be the “principle seat of the soul”, as described by Descartes.
Both physically and and metaphysically, this gland has many functions. Human beings are only now becoming aware of its importance, however, as well as how to keep it functioning optimally so every individual may ‘awaken’ to higher consciousness and perceive life in a new way.
The issue is, as all beings age the pineal gland begins to calcify and become sluggish. Depending on dietary choices, mentality, attitude, and lifestyle, the rate of calcification varies; however it’s clear that both illness and feelings of disconnect from Source are related to a sluggish pineal gland.
Fluoride is believed to be a risk factor associated with calcification of the gland. Because it collects in extremely high amounts in the pineal gland, it causes faster degeneration. This compound can also decrease melatonin production, reducing one’s ability to get deep, restorative sleep..
Besides contributing to one’s lack of divine recognizance, calcification of the pineal gland has shown to be in strong correlation with the development of Alzheimer’s disease. In addition to a diet laden with preservatives, chemicals, pesticides, calcification and premature aging often both result.
How Should one Eat to Prevent Premature Aging and Calcification?
Quite simply (though not as simple to adopt), a healthy, preservative/chemical-free diet that is rich in healthy fats, fruits, vegetables, high-enzyme legumes, nuts, seeds, and leafy green foods should be implemented.
In addition to adopting a healthier diet, one can optimize their nutrition for the mind’s eye and de-calcify their pineal gland with the following recommendations:

Remove Fluoride
While it may be difficult to cut it out completely (unless you move to a remote location with pure, spring water), drastically lowering the fluoride levels consumed will positively benefit your health and mission to de-calcify the essential endocrine gland.
You can do this by:
Properly filtering water before consumption. Most communities have water supplies teaming with fluoride. To properly filter, you need a reverse-osmosis filter on the tap. It is also an option to buy bottled water from a clean, fresh spring.
Switching to a fluoride-free toothpaste. Many commercial toothpaste companies add fluoride to their products. While the debate on its efficiency or necessity rages on, it has been shown to be another form of toxic input that you don’t need.
Consume Apple Cider Vinegar
Purchased organic and with the mother, Apple Cider Vinegar is a great tonic to detoxify and de-calcify the body. It is rich in malic acid and helps alkalize the body. An entire website has been devoted to sharing its many benefits, visit it here.
You can sip this vinegar 3 times a day, or add it to a glass with water, lemon juice, and honey.
Opt for More Iodine-Rich Foods
Iodine-rich foods, such as seaweed, kelp, cranberries, green beans, kale, darky leafy greens, bananas, shrimp, and lobster, can help support thyroid function which is essential for the pineal gland. While the list is incomplete as there are far more sources of iodine-rich foods, their importance cannot be overstated.
Iodine is essential for helping to remove sodium fluoride from the body; as stated earlier, this is necessary for de-calcifying the pineal gland.
It is important to note that too much Iodine can be toxic if consumed / supplemented in very high levels, therefore be cautious and use a water-soluble form such as losol to avoid the risk of over-consuming it
Indulge in Raw Cacao
The delicious, mineralizing, and highly-prized raw cacao bean (which chocolate is derived from) is abundant in antioxidants that fight free radicals and keep the brain healthy. Raw cacao – a 7th chakra food – has also been touted to stimulate the mind’s eye and help detoxify it. Highly prized by indigenous Indians throughout South and Latin America, who really needs an excuse to consume this food anyways?
Nourish with Coconut Oil
This incredibly healing food nourishes all parts of the human body. But it’s greatest benefit may be that it revitalizes the brain and detoxes the pineal gland. Rich in medium-chain triglycerides which are converted to ketones in the liver, this food restores neurons and improves nerve function in the brain.
This is incredible news for those seeking alternative form of therapy to reverse damage in the brain and prevent Alzheimer’s disease.
Cultivate & Consume More Herbs
Nature offers many preventative and healing herbs. The following are incredibly helpful for healing the body and de-calcifying the pineal gland:
Gotu Kola: This incredible herb nourishes the whole brain and stimulates the pineal gland.
Alfalfa Sprouts: Rich in enzymes, vitamins, and minerals, these sprouts help to detoxify the body and energize the pineal gland.
Parsley: Not only does this herb detox heavy metals, it stimulates the pineal gland, cleans the body, and energizes the entire system.
These are only some of the herbs which are beneficial to the human body. Add them generously to your dishes when cooking, preparing a nutritious salad, or serving up a delectable side dish.
Ditch the Sunglasses
Light reflected by the retina stimulates the pineal gland. Because our eyes need to be exposed to indirect sunlight on a daily basis, sporting sunglasses at all times can contribute to calcification of the pineal gland.
If they are an essential must in your life, at least take breaks from wearing the sunglasses and spend plenty (intelligent amounts) of time in the sun. Because many people are deficient in Vitamin D, getting enough through sun exposure can not only support your brain health, but also help fight depression.

Ways to benefit the brain and de-calcify the pineal gland are not limited to this list, but these suggestions will most definitely benefit your health and enrich your life.
Nourishing your body is a priority, so should be supporting your ‘mind’s eye’! Adopt the listed habits and experience the many positive benefits that flow into your life when you optimize your body and mind.

5 Ways to Decalcify Your Pineal Gland Regardless Of Your Age

pineal-gland-decalcification1. Avoid all things fluoride:
Fluoride is in so many things – it’s purposefully made to be hard to avoid. Get a reverse osmosis water system if you can. Drinking with tap water and cooking with it heavily calcify our pineal glands. Get fluoride-less toothpaste, and stay away from any sodas and artificial food.
2. Pineal gland detoxifying foods:
Garlic, ginger, cilantro, hemp seeds, coconut oil, kale or any dark leaf similar. static1.squarespace Also raw cacao is incredible for this. Bentonite clay, colloidal sliver, noni juice and so much more! There are many different lists on the internet to check out.
3. Essentials oils:
Bergamot, Lavender, Sandalwood, Frankincense, Pachouli, Spearmint, tea tree oil, eucalyptus, rose water, sage and soo much more! Essential oils stimulate parts of our brain and can help activate our pineal glands.
4. Citric acid:
Putting lemon in water and drinking it every day, not only helps decalcify our pineal glands but it’s incredibly healthy in all aspects. It clears your skin and helps balance your PH levels and can take years off your face!
5. Garlic:
Garlic alone fights so many infections. It is a natural anti inflammatory, immune system booster and helps flush out the toxins in our body. The intense infusing flavors are so strong, it helps take the calcium off our pineal glands!
