Plane Crashes

From Russian RT Telegram Channel:
Footage of what appears to be the only surviving passenger in the Boeing plane crash in India is circulating online .

The video was published by a correspondent for the local TV channel APB News. It is clear that the man is walking on his own, and only abrasions are visible on him.

British citizen Vishwash Kumar Ramesh, 40, is currently in hospital, Hindustan Times reports. He was seated at the front of the plane in row 11.

According to the man, 30 seconds after takeoff, a loud sound was heard, and then the plane crashed:
"When I got up, there were bodies all around me. I was scared. I stood up and ran. There was debris from the plane all around. Someone grabbed me, put me in an ambulance and took me to the hospital."

Earlier, the media reported that the bodies of 204 dead passengers were found at the crash site.

The survivor who jumped out—it's strange, it's not even a minute between when the plane takes off and crashes, how did he jump? Through the emergency door?
According to this site, is almost impossible to open the emergency door in flight, although it can be in descent or lower altitude, is needed the captain, because such doors are locked while in the air.

Had not found much about the sound he mentioned.

Didn't see any report saying he "jumped out". He somehow survived the crash while in the plane.

That for some reason, that RT X post is not visible in the forum.

Add, the other part from RT's X post:

From the above report:

"According to the man, 30 seconds after take off, a loud sound was heard and then the plane crashed: "when I got up, there were bodies all around me" I was scared. I stood up and ran"

Sounds like he survived the crash. Maybe "jumped from the plane" refers to after it crashed. It's unlikely he jumped from the plane before it crashed and: a) survived the fall b) found himself surrounded by bodies.

Vishwash Kumar Ramesh, a 40-year-old British national the one who woke up in hospital, seated in 11A (this Hindi-News Nine (Vishwash Kumar Ramesh reportedly jumped from the plane at the last moment.), take the report from Hindustan Times, but that is non mentioned at Hindustan Times, though.

Delete double info.

Air India flight AI314.. was supposed to take off at 10:20pm, boarding ended at 9:50pm! The crew & captain have been talking of technical issues in some software, the AC units aren’t working, and they aren’t allowing us to deboard! No updates either! We have been made hostages on the flight! Isn’t there a rule against it, especially since there are high BP patients & infants on this flight in the midst of Delhi heat minus air conditioning! Truly terrible state of affairs

In the video posted at RT, the airplanes gears are still down (far too long in my opinion) after takeoff!

Speculation from here on - Assuming the aircraft suffered an engine failure close to takeoff or at rotation, the startle factor caused the crew to forget retracting the landing gear.

As the airplane struggled to gain altitude and forgetting that the gear is still down, the flight director commands in the HUD (heads-up display) would be a fly-up! As the airplane gets close to 'stick shaker' speed, an automatic feature in the 787 aircraft called "Thrust Asymmetry Protection" (TAP) reduces thrust on the operating engine to ensure there is sufficient rudder for directional control (TAP reduces thrust when the airspeed decreases below a certain speed on takeoff).

With the gear in the down position and TAP reducing thrust on the operating engine, there was no way the aircraft could have kept flying. Sad to hear about this accident. :-(

So in that scenario we're talking mechanical issue with the plane rather than pure pilot error?
