Why would you restrict the name format? You're asking people to give something close to their real names on a forum where conspiracies are discussed... Somehow that seems a bit odd, but okay... I guess you can run the show however you want.

Anyways, I don't appreciate the spam either. Even though I didn't get any, I'm sure those forum members who did were mighty surprised given that most of us come here to get away from that junk. I'm glad Laura decided to nip this in the bud.

Pottersville, I would normally welcome all new members with an open mind but having been on the receiving side of your spam/PM, I don''t feel motivated to do so.

I would highly recommend reading the rules again and becoming more aquainted with this forum in general.

An apology might be a good start.

It was this that turned me off when the PM showed up suddenly in my inbox, Pottersville. Why? Because I don't know you, and you haven't been on this forum long enough for me to get to know you. Looking over your site didn't encourage me either.

With all that is going on in the world, I don't have the time or energy for more than being here and doing what I can. :cool2:

Ms. 'Pottersville' Myra B. registered another user name this evening (Myra B.) and PM'd more forum members to join her forum (thanks for reporting it). I think that qualifies as pathological persistence. It's certainly not very intelligent, considering the response she received the first time around... She has been banned.

Bad things happened in the past due to the abuse of private messages and emails and some members thinking they were aware enough that rules and precaution didn't apply to them. But we handle it well this time. It goes to show that group members have developed more awareness of such potential attacks and more trust in the moderators to handle them :thup:

There was a story about her being fired (offshore outsourcing case) by WashTech together with 50 other employees described for example here and here, but this is just a side note.

Myra Bronstein was a founder member of Deep Politics Forum (DPF). Looks like she "hacked and hijacked" the forum in December 2010, got rid of all mods and made herself its sole Admin.

The DPF it seems is no longer a ‘they’ and is now just a she. The following announcement appears on all subforums:

Magda and Co hacked the DPF forum, and removed my post with the lengthy explanation of the recent problems.

This is the bottom line: Magda Hassan and Charles Drago refused to follow forum rules. They demanded that members follow rules they would not follow.

Magda posts under pseudonyms, which is against the forum rules. One of her pseudonyms is Peter Tosh. I don't know them all. This is what started the recent implosion, the fact that she uses multiple aliases yet that is against forum rules. I discovered it on December 5 and confronted her.

The forum has apparently been got back or a duplicate has been made (_http://dpf.wikispooks.org/) by the other owners and Myra was banned; there is an interesting note made by one DPF's founder:

EF stands for The Education Forum, of which Myra is a member since October 2006 (_http://educationforum.ipbhost.com/index.php?showuser=5425), and they have two threads dedicated to DPF and that adventure:

Sure it could have been the other way round, but knowing her from this forum I'd tend to think it's quite likely she took over DPF. Perhaps they're all tarred with the same brush as there is more dirt going on between them and scam.com, mutual accusations of being CIA agents, etc. ...

I got the creepy email from Peter Presland this morning at 7:04am USA MT.

It said (I’m paraphrasing of course, so they don’t try to blackmail John again) to look at _https://wikispooks.com/wiki/Myra_Bronstein where all kinds of personal information is published: location in the US, profession, etc—along with a photo.

Peter’s email tells me there is a vast amount of documentation to come both personal and DPF related.
And it gives ultimatums (paraphrasing):

- If deepppoliticsforum.info remains public then the https://wikispooks.c.../Myra_Bronstein will remain public.
- Should I choose to escalate then there is a long list of documents they will publish.
- And it warns me that a google search for my name will likely be at the top of the search results within 3 weeks.

My first time being blackmailed.
Maybe John can give me tips since he’s been blackmailed before.
I wonder if they'll throw me in the same prison the Wikileaks guy was in.
And them maybe Michael Moore will bail me out. Wow.

I’m guessing that they’re more than willing to list my home address, phone numbers, email address, etc since that’s the very thing Magda Hassan (cloaked as ‘Peter Tosh’) did--posted names/addresses/phones/etc of alleged fascists/Nazis without any proof or sourcing. In fact that’s what triggered the big blow up.

I attached screen captures of the blackmail site. I want the screen shots in case they decide to scrub.

I wonder why they’re hiding behind Peter Presland and Wikispooks. The gang of five was unwilling to sign Peter’s letter. It was just signed Peter Presland, Wikispooks Webmaster.

Interesting. A computer software engineer who finds herself out of work and then hacks and takes over political forums, then comes here and attempts to get into the sott editors group and starts attempting to pull people away from this forum. The NSA has offices, as of a few years ago, in Aurora CO where her IP leads (as do the CIA and FBI from what I understand). I'd not put it out of the realm of possibility that she found a 'new job' and was trying to do it here. From her behavior here, I definitely believe she hacked that forum and removed the other mods - simply because even after she was called on her behavior, she returned for the sole purpose of doing it again in a very, very sneaky way. Looks like a definite predator to me.

considering the forums view on PM's, my spidey sense went off !!
 
Myra B. PM'ed me on the pretext of doing me
a "favor" by transcribing certain JFK movies,
in another SOTT forum thread, then posts the
transcripts in her forum, gives me link to the
transcript location/thread, and then tells me
she did it this way because she was not happy
with the SOTT moderators, being too slow to
respond to her request to being a SOTT journ-
alist. This whole thing smelled of manipulation.

After thinking about it for awhile, I refused to
continue read her transcripts because I did not
trust the veracity of her transcripts, nor of her
motives.

I cannot help but think that something smells
of the people behind the Zionist ideology, or
perhaps the men behind the curtain.

This is a good lesson in hindsight, to stay alert
and fully aware. Be forewarned: One cannot know
of another's motives without serious objective study,
which is what this forum is about.
 
If it is truly believed that this is a predator hacking our Forum, Remove it...We don't need any more attacks, especially now...Focus on positive STO functions at this time. We have darn good administrators, plus Laura and the crew who can usually spot these people and dismiss this hacker nonsense.

Banning her is fine, but I think leaving what she's managed to post, and what others have been able to find out, goes a long way in educating others. It also shows that if you behave badly, you will leave tracks behind for others to see. Predators online count too much on people wanting to 'make nice' and deleting their actions.
