PRESIDENT - Putin's 15 years in power - EN Subtitles (VIDEO)

Miss.K

Dagobah Resident
These videos don't play (I've try to let it load for 15 minutes, and nothing)

http://www.sott.net/article/296566-PRESIDENT-Putins-15-years-in-power-EN-Subtitles-VIDEO

Is it just me?

(other videos from other pages work fine, with no loading time, so my connection should be OK)

[Mod: edit to include link to video]

that can happen sometime, are you using any ad blocking software, or privacy plugins? , what browser are you using?

I'm using Firefox, and have Adblock, but that usually don't prevent videos from running.
I just tried with Safari, but it seems to be the same (has loaded for a couple of minutes, but nothing)

I've tried now to disable Adblock on SOTT (no need for it there anyways) but still nothing...

Yeah i'm running adblock with no issue's but it is slow for me as well although I have a crap connection, if you mouse over the right of the screen,
you see a HD button it's defaulted to be on, you may wan't to toggle this to drop the resolution, also have you tired accessing it from live leak

and just in case you may wan't to update your flash player just in case

Thank you Seaniebawn,

I have installed the flash player, and still nothing, (there is no HD botton here, not even a fullscreen option) no dice on live leak either.

BUT I just found out that the second and the 3rd video do have HD botton and fullscreen option, and they work with no loading time at all.

video 4 to 6 is the same as video 1

and video 7 and 8 now don't have a video but say 503 Service Temporarily Unavailable

No problem Miss.k not to sound like the typical IT guy, but when was the last time you closed your browser, or done a reboot, it's strange that you can see the HD button on some of the video's and not the other's they could be cached pages from before you upgraded your flash player, if open the first video and , Ctrl + F5 this should over write the local cache on the browser, all else fails either do a reboot or install bleach bit and do a complete wipe of your firefox temp directory's this might be overkill
http://bleachbit.sourceforge.net/download

the 503 Service Temporarily Unavailable
error mean's the web server is under load, and it's connections are maxed usually a reload of the page should fix this, it's probably everyone coming home trying to watch the video at the same time of sott ;D

Yes I thought that it might be many people watching, the 503 Service Temporarily Unavailable is gone now and all videos are there, but I just tried to reboot mac, and then tried on PC too (both Firefox and Explorer) and it is the same that second and third video have a different player, that works, but the rest don't....strange if it's only here..and on both PC and mac, and 3 different browsers

But now dinner is ready (slightly burned) so I'll watch second and third video, and if the problem is still there tomorrow, I'll try all the overkill solutions.
Thank you again :)

There's a note in the article: if the embedded videos do not play correctly, follow the link to the original LiveLeak page by clicking on the episode title.

Have you tried going to the LiveLeak page through each title that is linked?

Yes tried that and it's the same, only video 2 and 3 works, I just called a friend to ask if they worked for her, and they all worked no problem. So it's probably only here. (but strange that it is the same thing on 2 different computers)

Well enjoy your dinner, if your still having trouble post back, and we'll see what we can do.

Thanks, I'm a bit worried to do something wrong if I try to be a computer wiz (I'm computer challenged) so I better try that in the morning when my brain has rested, and I'll let you know :)

Are all the videos the same player for you guys?

For me it is only video 2 and 3 that has a player that can go fulscreen, and that has the HD button (and they run with no waiting time)
The others don't have fullscreen option, or HD button, and don't run.

(it is the same on the original LiveLeak page)

Thank you,
I downloaded the VLC, but there is no difference.
I can't figure out how to stream through the VLC, everything looks different than in the explanation, but maybe I'm a bit stressed, so it might be possible even if I can't figure it out right now.

But are all the videos the same video player for you?

Hi Miss.k sorry all the other work around's aren't working for you, I would think it's firewall related but since it's 8080 over http and you seem to be able to watch other video's I wouldn't think it's this, have you tried running bleach bit and clearing out your temp directory's on firefox ?, one last thing, you can install a video grabber plugin for firefox, which should allow you to download the file from the source you can find one at the below link
https://addons.mozilla.org/EN-uS/firefox/addon/easy-youtube-video-download/

All else fail's I'll see if I have time in work tomorrow, and I can download the files and upload them to youtube, assuming that's alright with the sott crew, since they went to the trouble of translating and uploading the video's originally
