Putin Recognizes Donbass Republics, Sends Russian Military to 'Denazify' Ukraine

In a live channel about the explosion there was a 'subtitle'/text message that it might have been a tanker explosion.
If you look at the main footage with this in mind (or an underwater explosion), it makes much more sense than a truck explosion. While the blast is huge, it goes very little in the direction of the camera and the other cars, like when it would come from the Truck. It looks more like it came from the right side from beneath the bridge, possibly from underwater, so the nearer cars actually get shielded by the bridge segment they are on. The segments near the explosion might have been moved upwards before they collapsed, which would also explain why 2 segments collapsed. Also the 'silver rain': I don't see how that could move in the direction it does and where it would come from with a truck explosion. It just looks a lot more like sea water coming from the right, see with 1/2 speed at second 12 and second 19.

‘Sabotage’ blamed for massive railway disruption in Germany" (6:40am local time)

(Crimean bridge occurred shortly after 6am local time)

"According to Der Spiegel, the company’s communications network failed completely at around 6:40am local time. The newspaper said that “unknown persons” severed a data line in a cable duct near Berlin, while another one near Dortmund was also sabotaged. According to the paper’s sources, saboteurs would have needed “information about the railway network and how you can paralyze it.”

Article below:

Because there is usually a lot of lying in velica situations for different reasons, there are reasons to suspect regarding the premise given by the authorities of the explosive truck, it is reported that the truck apparently had all the papers in order, perhaps it was not full of explosives and that is why they let it pass without major problems, but continuing with the perhaps, with a detonator it would be enough if it was transporting fertilizers that could have been used as raw material for the explosion; like ammonium nitrate in Beirut.
Regarding the hypothesis of the underwater UAV capable of such an attack, if Ukraine had this capability, assuming that it had for some time, why didn't it use it earlier to attack the Crimean bridge, taking into account the desire to destroy it what did they say they had?

ok, it looks a bit similar:-), but still in the gif above you can see changes in the dimensions of the "head" of the drone and that it is larger and rounded on the edges compared to the image found on the coast.

Finally there are these images with shots from above and below the bridge, in the upper part you can see the black stain left by the explosion and in the lower part nothing that, both in the metal structure and in the areas with concrete:

I think that what Laura posted about “war being an extension of politics“ is central in this. Basically, Putin could not start mobilization until there was a broad consensus in Russia that much more needs to be done in Ukraine. So in a sense, he may have been waiting for people to become dissatisfied with how things are going in Ukraine, so that the next step he takes has full backing from the people in Russia.

Putin’s geopolitical stratagem and patience is unparalleled. It’s quite inspiring, for myself anyways, to finally witness a world leader confronting the West, and taking on the multidimensional onslaughts of economic, militaristic, and propagandistic pressure coming from practically every angle from the West and yet still capable of making the most sufficient and pragmatic moves. And he does so by strict adherence to legalistic legitimacy—or taking the “by the books” route—with the desires/backing of the Russian peoples. Some may call him “boring” or “softer than he should be” because of this, but I appreciate the genius, discipline, and patience that requires.

And for the critiques that constantly lambaste his speed of procedural response to issues “on the ground”, this was a nice salute:

I suspect that we are going to see some shock and awe operation from Russia in few days and that general Armageddon was engaged. Crimean bridge is Putin's baby. Remember what Russians did after the its plane was down in Syria and those miles of burned down petrol tankers. It doesn't mean these snorters get to their senses, but at least some sane pentagon gang may get some chills.

A truck blew up on the Crimean Bridge early on Saturday, causing significant damage to a piece of infrastructure that is vital to Russia in its military operation in Ukraine. Three people were killed as a result of the blast, which temporarily halted both automobile and railway traffic.

What happened?

The powerful explosion occurred on the Crimean Bridge, which connects the Russian peninsula of Crimea to the country’s Krasnodar Region, at around 6am local time on Saturday. It caused a partial collapse of the road used by automobiles and a blaze on a parallel railway section where seven fuel tanks caught fire. Traffic on the whole bridge was stopped due to the incident.

Russia’s National Anti-Terrorism Committee said that a truck blew up as it was traveling along the 19-km-long structure. The CCTV videos from the scene also showed a lorry exploding.

At least three people were killed as a result of the explosion, according to the Investigative Committee. They’re believed to be the driver and passengers of a car that was attempting to overtake the truck at the moment it blew up. Two bodies have already been retrieved from the waters of the Kerch Strait.

Helicopters were deployed to tackle the blaze, which was extinguished several hours after the explosion. The undamaged part of the bridge was reopened with one lane available for traffic in both directions starting at 4pm local time, the Transport Ministry said. Trains will be running again from 8pm, it added. It’s not yet clear how long it will take to repair the damaged section. The Crimean authorities said that ferry service would also be provided to those looking to cross between the peninsula and mainland.

A criminal investigation has been launched, with law enforcement agencies having already identified the owner of the truck that exploded as being a resident of Russia’s Krasnodar Region. A search has been carried out at the man’s home.

How did the two sides react?

Kiev stopped short of claiming responsibility for the attack, but an aide to Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, Mikhail Podoliak, warned Russia that what happened at the bridge was “just the beginning.”

The incident was also celebrated on social media by Ukraine’s Security Service (SBU) and the country’s Defense Ministry, with the latter claiming that one of the “notorious symbols of Russian power in Ukrainian Crimea” has “gone down.”

Russia’s Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova wrote on Telegram that the reaction of Ukrainian officials testified to the “terrorist nature” of the government in Kiev.

An unnamed Ukrainian government official told the Washington Post that Ukrainian special services were behind the explosion. This followed a report by Ukrainian outlet Ukrainska Pravda, which cited a source in the country’s security services, claiming that the attack was masterminded by the SBU.

Why is the Crimean Bridge important?

Construction of the bridge, which is also called the Kerch Bridge, started two years after Crimea overwhelmingly voted to join Russia in a referendum in 2014. It was completed in 2018, with the 19-km-long structure – the longest bridge in Europe – becoming a symbol of the peninsula’s reunification with Russia.

During the conflict in Ukraine, Russia has been using the bridge to transport armored vehicles and other military hardware and cargo. Several Ukrainian officials and military commanders have in recent months issued threats that the bridge could become a target.

Opinion

It is highly likely that the incident on the bridge was a result of the attack by the Kiev regime or NATO forces (in fact, this means the same if one takes into account that NATO directly manages military actions of Kiev forces). This unprecedented attack would mark the new level of escalation, which confirms readiness of NATO and its puppet Kiev regime to attack vital civilian infrastructure objects deep inside Russian territory.

Such an attack requires a decisive and rapid answer from Russia. If this does not happen, it is likely that frequent attacks on vital infrastructure objects in Russia will become an everyday reailty in the nearest future.

Meanwhile, quickly in Kyiv this sign was erected so that the public could take selfies of themselves; they really have no idea of what they look like, do they?

So, from reading and viewing above on the Crimean Bridge explosion thus far, it looks like a number of options have been presented.

Construction of this bridge sees engineered sections (panels) overlaid atop peers/columns to make up the superstructure. The fist section span was broken roughly mid span, thus dropping to the water and bending both opposite ends at the column/peer ends. It is what you would expect based on the photos, and clearly seen is that the blast pattern spreads over to the next traffic lain and up above to the train. It also went forward to the next span. Most of the heat looked to go upwards and over to the guardrails at the train (and the train itself added heat from its fuel car fires - what they were carrying, I don't know what).

The second bridge span section failed (it is an up hill section) at the first column/peer end where it appeared to moved over, being torqued sideways and pulling back off the second column/peer (severing it) where it also drops into the water. Explosive burns on the adjacent road section look minimal.

The underside of the bridge (see second photo) sees no extensive evidence of a blast (powder explosive marks or impact), although it all can't be examined by photos yet, thus I can't see the blast coming from below the bridge (IMO).

1. Truck (with some kind of detonation sequence; external or internal)
  • explosive compression (elevated inside the truck) would push down, up and sideways unless packaged in such a way that the forces are directed. This can be done, it is usually always done to accomplish a result. The evidence dose not look like it was directed, although downward pressure would be needed to do what it did, if that was the plan (they may not have had an exact plan of what would happen, just the event)
  • what kind of explosive and how much? (ANFO often used for shock vs. other products - ANFO will leave a chemical signature)
  • the chances of a rigged explosive truck being interdicted before it crossed the bridge is one risk factor, or perhaps it would be factored as low (it was indeed low). The manifest might have well explained of what was inside, and that is what the guys saw. Inevitably, the Russians will backtrack the trailer with a story that comes out
  • the driver having no knowledge of his primed truck?
2. Truck (ignition by water drone)
  • unless the drone was used to muddy the waters, not sure why this would be needed; more sequences (e.g., Truck A at the right spot and Drone B at the right spot.) There are simpler ways.
3. Drone
  • Could be mistaken (and maybe it sent an ignition signal), yet it does not sound realistic to have been the package (or ignition sequence vehicle). Both the the truck and other debris, such as a drone if there was one that exploded, are easily checked during forensics.
  • if exploded, the water shockwave would have been an event in itself.

Based on what's been made public so far, it looks like a specially-prepared truck with a shaped high-explosive charge under the chassis and dummy cargo to enable it to pass inspection. The unfortunate driver was probably just some guy hired on a contract basis to do a return trip. Assuming some sort of timer wasn't used (or a remotely-triggered timer), it could have been triggered via a standard mobile phone connection.

I don't think there's any need for complicated scenarios like drones, and the premature celebrations by the Ukrainians (who probably didn't expect the bridge to be so resilient) point pretty much directly to the culprits. At this point, I'm not sure why the SBU hasn't been expressly targeted by the Russian military. Any SBU base, personnel, or equipment regardless of where it is in Ukraine should be fair game at this point.

I don't know if this is the appropriate place for this or shared here already (in that case feel free to remove it or move it to a more appropriate place) - but felt to share this with you today, in regards to the Crimea bridge, the recent referendums and Putin's already legendary speech in the Kremlin. Btw., Zelensky is missing in that "Dream Team" (aka The Team of Wishful Thinking) - unless he hides in some corner behind the "Dream Crew". So, where is the "hero" of The Times now? ;-)

News about the truck driver from the Crimean bridge:

The VChK-OGPU found out who made an order for the transportation of cargo from Makhir Yusubov, then this cargo exploded along with a truck on the Crimean bridge. The order came from an account on the ATI resource of the Ulyanovsk company TEK-34, which has an excellent reputation on this site and more than 200 positive reviews.

All this turned out to be very misleading. TEK-34 was really actively engaged in the delivery of goods from 2009 to 2020, when all the ratings were earned. The company was then registered in the Volgograd region. At the end of 2020, the company was sold to a certain Oleg Antipov, after which it completely ceased its activities. In 2021, it was expelled from the Unified State Register of Legal Entities as a structure that does not have a valid legal address. And from March 2022, the company begins to “come to life”. She receives a legal address already in Ulyanovsk, got registered there with the tax and FIU. At the same time, without engaging in any activity.

And on October 6, someone signed by Oleg, around 14.00, places an application for the transportation of cargo on the Armavir-Simferopol flight from the TEK-34 account to ATI. Moreover, it was established that the announcement was published from an IP address in Moscow.

Approximately 10 minutes later, Mahir responded to the request. The experts found that a man who worked for ATI from his wife's account went to the TEK-34 profile, which contains detailed information and the customer's rating. As we already wrote, these data were impeccable. After another 10-15 minutes, the ad on the site disappeared - presumably, Mahir phoned an employee named "Oleg" at the indicated number and agreed on a job.

It is known about the cargo that in the application it was called "tare and packaging" and was supposed to be shipped from Armavir on October 6-7. And the goods were delivered to Simferopol. By all parameters it is clear that the passage of the truck across the bridge was scheduled for the birthday of Vladimir Putin, but for some reason it was postponed for a day.

More details :

On the day of the explosion on the Crimean bridge, the driver of the car in which the explosives were allegedly transported, Mahir Yusubov, was transporting film from Armavir to Simferopol on the order of the TEK-34 company. Potentially, and most likely as planned by the Ukrainian and Western intelligence services, he could have been on the Crimean Bridge on October 7, Putin's birthday, but stopped to sleep a few kilometers away. He told his relatives about this, after which he turned off the phone (according to his relatives, he had never done this before).

I suspect that we are going to see some shock and awe operation from Russia in few days and that general Armageddon was engaged. Crimean bridge is Putin's baby. Remember what Russians did after the its plane was down in Syria and those miles of burned down petrol tankers. Probably soon there will be not only "shock and awe", but also revealing news on covid - Основатель группы хакеров Killnet: США причастны к созданию COVID-19

The United States is involved in the creation of COVID-19. This was stated by Killmilk, founder of the Killnet hacker group.

He said that the Killnet group is currently preparing a "huge package of evidence and revelations."

“At the moment, we are completing our own investigation into this case. It will be one of the most high-profile events, ”he said.

Earlier, Columbia University professor Jeffrey Sachs, chairman of the commission on the coronavirus of the medical journal The Lancet, admitted that the virus was created in the laboratory and American biotechnology was used to create it.

I don't know what to think about it, is it a new strike on Zaporizhzhia city, or the same as three days ago, allegedly different from the Ukrainian sources? I ask, because searching in English for news in English and selecting "less than 24 hours" as it seems that this missile attack happened this morning, the only one that pops up in English is from Al-Jazeera; All the others occurrences are French. "Of course" from all these sources, Putin/Russia did it:

Deadly Russian missile attack hits Ukraine’s Zaporizhzhia city - Al Jazeera
Ukrainian officials say overnight shelling caused severe damage to dozens of residential buildings in the city.

Published On 9 Oct 2022

At least 12 people have been killed in overnight Russian missile attacks in the Ukrainian city of Zaporizhzhia, according to Ukrainian officials, in the latest attack that President Volodymyr Zelenskyy called “absolute evil”.

Zelenskyy and regional official Oleksandr Starukh provided a death toll of 12, with the latter saying that more victims may be under the rubble as a search and rescue operation was launched.

“Zaporizhzhia again. Merciless strikes on peaceful people again. On residential buildings, just in the middle of the night,” Zelenskyy said on Telegram of Sunday’s attack, adding that 49 people including six children were in hospital.

“Absolute meanness. Absolute evil. Savages and terrorists. From the one who gave this order to everyone who fulfilled this order. They will bear responsibility. For sure. Before the law and before people.”

Earlier, Anatoliy Kurtev, secretary of Zaporizhzhia city council, said 17 were killed in missiles attacks. “After night missile attack on Zaporizhzhia, at least 20 houses and about 50 multi-storey buildings were damaged,’ he wrote on Telegram on Sunday.

Al Jazeera could not independently verify the casualty figures.

The attack came after an explosion on Saturday caused the partial collapse of a bridge linking the Crimean Peninsula with Russia, damaging an important supply artery for the Kremlin’s faltering war effort in southern Ukraine and hitting a symbol of Russian power in the region.

Ukrainian officials said the overnight shelling targeted houses and apartment buildings in the southern city, which has been at the receiving end of Russian attacks in recent weeks.

At least 14 people died in a Russian missile attack on apartment buildings in Zaporizhzhia on Thursday, while 30 people were killed last week when a convoy of civilian cars was shelled in an attack blamed on Russia.

So, maybe there will be more English datas in the next hours, but finding nothing about it in English from English researchs except for Al-Jazeera seems odd to me, at this point.

The Kerch bridge is closed off and easily repaired where the explosion happened but traffic is still moving across the part that is open. An inconvenience rather than the ‘massive blow’ being trumpeted in the western media.

Boy, looks like I missed the hysteria. Instead of thumbing my way around the internet to catch the latest news on the complete devastation of Russia’s Kerch bridge that unites Crimea with Mother Russia, I was at a gun range being trained by a retired Delta Force operator. He is a hell of a teacher.

Needless to say, my time was better spent (and cheaper) compared to what Ukraine spent on its spectacular failure to destroy the Kerch bridge. Failure? Yes. The initial images of a veritable Dante’s furnace, complete with rolling clouds of black smoke and frantic tongues of flames licking the bridge, seemed to have erased Ukraine’s previous reputation for inept sabotage.

image-4.png

Even Pillsbury Doughboy Alexander Vindman took time off from stuffing his pudgy cheeks with donuts to celebrate the moment.

image-3.png

Even the Brits felt the need to pop a bottle of bubbly and cheer the “MASSIVE” explosion.

image-5.png

But alas, once again, Ukraine failed to deliver the mythic death blow. The bridge is open and traffic is flowing, albeit a little slower and more congested because of damage to one section of the bridge (which is easily repaired). Yes, the portion of the bridge where the truck bomb detonated is closed, but the other part of the bridge is open and operating. Not exactly a “massive” blow. An inconvenience? Yes, but it does not create an insurmountable problem for Russia.
The over joyed reaction to the limited success of this operation in the West belies a desperation. If a major section of the entire bridge had been pulverized then I would understand the jubilation and snarky comments. This is akin to the Germans celebrating the failure to blow up the Bridge at Remagen during World War II. German attempts to destroy that bridge were foiled while allied forces continued to roll into Germany. That bridge–the Ludendorf–collapsed ten days after its capture but that came too late to save the Nazis from the American and British onslaught. Patton and his troops were settled comfortably in Germany.

Let us give Ukraine credit for one thing–they are really pissing off the people of Russia and galvanizing support for Putin to take decisive action. The West insists it wants to get rid of Vladimir Putin but actions like this attack on the Kerch bridge is having the opposite effect on Putin’s popularity and his growing mandate to punish Ukraine as a terrorist state. I suspect that Ukraine will not be as chirpy once Russia chooses to respond in force.

‘Unthinkable’ number of mercenaries gathered in Zaporozhye – authorities

"Soldiers from more than 30 countries have been spotted, a local official claims"

The Kiev regime has accumulated an unthinkable number of mercenaries on the line of contact. We know about representatives from more than 30 different countries,” Rogov said."

"He went on to say that Ukraine has been deploying to the area both mercenaries and troops from the western part of the country in order to instill terror in local residents who voted in the recent referendums."

"Zaporozhye Region is also home to a nuclear power plant,"
