Excellent find Perlou! Your linked video shows it best, thank You!Essai routier d'Abrams dans des conditions aussi proches que possible de celles ukrainiennes
Abrams road test in conditions as close as possible to Ukrainian ones
Pierre talked about that French Universities had a very serious traditional training regimen, releasing excellent engineers and mechanical designers into the French industry, which is probably why the French Leclerc tank looks good on paper:
Its light with only 55 tons, has strong & fast[!] small diesel engine with 71 km/h top speed. Has Auto-loader and accurate computerized firing system, integrated into main battlefield command network like M1A2 Abrams. Strong armor: combination of steel, ceramics and Kevlar. Can fire all NATO ammo. Can cross 4m deep river. Can fire 12 rounds per minute, "can engage 6 targets at one time with 95% accuracy"... [cough] Looks good on paper. But can it endure ---**--BattleField War Reality--**---???
OR
Will it break down? Like the many new, computerized = accurate German PzH 2000 155 mm self-propelled howitzers present in Ukraine??
To this above comment on RT, One poster replied in length:
Gregory Cooley: {French Leclerc tank}
As far as western MBTs go its probably the most reliable and best they have to be honest. its performance in yemen was stellar and far surpassed Abrams and leo2s both in exercises and in combat. the vehicle has not been widly exported due to its high cost . high level of training required to operate and due to the fact france usually wont provide financing for poorer countries to make installment payments for it.
I collected a myriad of similar problems.
Here is the write-up about the Abrams tank operating nightmare and expected NATO tank performance, especially with untrained crews and long supply lines:
When NATO & Twitter Fanatics' FANTASY collides with PRIMARY REALITY
Furthermore, Brian Berletic cites a high ranked, veteran American tank expert, in his excellent long analysis:
Lieutenant General Mark Hertling with 37 years tank experience gives the cold-water shock to the fanatic, triggered Ukraine supporters on Twitter, who are complaining, why Hertling says discouraging and negative things regards problems of sending Abrams in Ukraine.. when everybody needs to say good things about this arms support that Ukraine should receive..
M1 Abrams: Massive problems with untrained crews being ineffective. For example an inexperienced Abrams tank driver can blow the fuel-guzzling jet engine combined with the transmission[!] that is built into the tank. Replacing it costs a mere 1.5 million dollars...
Abrams has a Jet Engine[!] and also it is a multi-fuel engine[ ], which engines are famous to break down often (and take long to switch to a different type of fuel) - and the Abrams is a very heavy hulk of metal with lots of powerful-hydraulics moving the tank & rotating the turret, which can crush a human body like and ant. While the crew is moving the turret here and there its very easy to crush & seriously injure inexperienced crews, especially legs.. as inexperienced crews are known to be fond to climb everywhere, where they shouldn't! Such newbies are often a training sergeant's nightmare..
The ammo-storage compartment door on the Abrams, for example, can easily crush a crew mate's hand while closing, because of the installed safety switch, which from half-way onward force-pulls the heavy door into place => maiming inexperienced crew hands easily!
Turret hydraulics for example must be shut down in a certain sequence and if you miss one step you can --permanently damage-- the turret-moving-rotating mechanism...
in addition:
--**--Old tanks break more!--**-- Due to age of their metal.
Also:
A veteran tank commander is needed, who must have years of experience in having operated a specific tank model!
So the --extensively-- trained crew should work as One, and if they don't==>, they will "drive" the Abrams while also breaking many of its expensive tank parts[!], which need to be replaced or need Master Gunners [these veteran experts won't be in Ukraine] to fix tank problems on the frontlines and expert logisticians to handle the ==> 500mile / 800km supply line from Poland to the Donbas!
At best inexperienced Ukrainian tank crews will just break the tank, at worst they will get their crew buddies killed [with the heavy & moving tank parts...].
You can't just throw tank parts into heavy planes and fly them to Ukraine as the planes will be shot down, so that's why Poland does the difficult repairs!
Poland weapons dealers and tank repair shop fixers - certified General Dynamics technicians with many years of Jet Engine Fixing Experience - are and will be very rich.
Also according to general Hertling:
Here we see the Leopard 2 mentioned that NATO / Pentagon want to send.Abrams needs the most turret training compared to the Russian T72, British Challenger, British Chieftain, German Leopard 2
TRAINING TIME:
(Lieutenant General Mark Hertling):
1. Iraqis paid billions for M1 Abrams with a permanent maintenance contract and a five year training period.
2. Saudis bought M1A2 [upgraded] Abrams tanks with a seven year training period. Training contract still in place.., which means USA technicians are fixing those new Saudi M1A2 Abrams tanks..
Alexander Mercouris pointed out that from 1994 the Bradleys [light armored infantry support vehicle] had all these issues, when Lebanon tried to make them working: it takes years to put them into army service ==> on the frontlines with trained Saudi crews = expertly.
Ukraine had similar problems with the Turkish Bayraktar drones: they spent years to do it and still made [almost] absolutely no difference on the frontlines against the Russians.
Tanks that now are being considered - Abrams, Leopard 2, Challenger, Leclerc -have seen battle in Iraq, Syria, Yemen.
German Leopards performed disastrously in Syria under Turkish crews. Leopards will be less of a burden to Ukraine, but still very problematic. Hi-tech latest German Puma tanks completely broke down en-masse during recent exercise! Result =>

German Defense Minister Christine Lambrecht resigns – DW – 01/16/2023
Christine Lambrecht has resigned as Germany's defense minister following a much-criticized New Year's eve message. Her year in office became a succession of minor scandals and statements that many saw as tone-deaf.

Rushing this all these myriad of NATO armor & missile systems into Ukraine - cutting corners - only will get these expensive equipment damaged and Ukraine crews killed.
Russia tried to operate three entirely different tank types in past decades on frontlines and it proved extremely difficult and impossible, so therefore multiple tank types are now in permanent storage in Russia, waiting to be re-built, disassembled, re-furbished or upgraded.
