Putin Recognizes Donbass Republics, Sends Russian Military to 'Denazify' Ukraine

About the attack on Kramatorsk
Three wounded from Columbia. It is a bit silly for the president to make such a noise, unless he was told to do so, when the Wiki about crime in the country tells us:
In 2016, Colombia had a murder rate of 24.4 per 100,000 population, the lowest since 1974.[8]
Columbia has around 50 million people. If we multiply 50 by 24 by 10 we have a rough idea of how many are murdered in Columbia every year, 12000. For everyone killed, how many are wounded? Of the total, how many are just ordinary people, not crime affiliated? Certainly, more than three of these are wounded or killed per night in such an environment. Why did the Columbians think Ukraine was safer? Hold my beer, while fetch a Darwin award!

Re: Rebellion in the ranks

Maybe it's battle fatigue.

And what is a soldier? 'Yes sir!' .... Soldiers are expected to just follow orders. Their training retards their humanity, making them less desirable as civilians, and only worth a soldiers fate: to be sacrificed and martyred, as having more than a few token heroes in the civilian sphere is a threat to the dictate that we must have soldiers, and they must be separate from humanity - save for some token heroes - to be lauded as heroic, but at the same time rejected and cast out after they are used - better yet, destroyed.

I think this has always plagued armies, as you can't really dehumanize a fighting force, call them heroes while deliberately sending them off to be destroyed, and they don't question what is really going on when they are in its midst? They are still human despite their indoctrination, and can't be pushed past a point where rebellion is a survival ultimatum. It doesn't matter what the fight is about, when the soldier tires, the soldier will fight the easiest fight: their own chain of command.

This seems to be happening on both sides. It isn't a failure of the military as much as it is a political failing.... So, it is the military who decides the outcome - they have that power - because civilians and politics rely on their military to carry out their orders, but they overstep their authority, inviting a uprising within.

So, I think soldiers are the lowest consideration - the powers would agree to cooperate with each other to quell each others dissenters because - no longer patriots, they are a threat to 'civility'. Of course they are, soldiers are aside from civility.

So, to unleash an army is to open ones self to scrutiny, and armies become uncontrollable when politics presides over them with contempt.

So, it's battle fatigue, and if you drag this out, that's what happens. No amount of political drama will keep things inline.

So the military ends the war by dissention, but politics will take credit for peace, when the real reason for peace is they lost the hearts of their soldiers.

I have to disagree on a number of points. A GOOD soldier under GOOD leadership is much more then a “yes sir!“ person. In fact, in such a scenario, the soldier is even expected to not just blindly follow any orders. Recently, I watched a video in which Putin explained how he wants/likes his people to behave. To explain that point, he told the following story:

Putin was supposed to fly in a helicopter somewhere, so the order was given to the captain of that “ship“ (helicopter). The air conditions for flying were very dangerous. The captain said something like this to Putin: „I‘m the captain of this ship and I will not fly under these conditions. It is too dangerous. Period.“ The captain then just turned around and walked away from Putin!

Putin told that story and emphasized the character of the man and that this should be viewed as an exemplary action that the people under his command should follow!

I would even go further, a soldier of that kind, under such leadership, can develop a good/humane character and/or get better at that, significantly. A good soldier can be one of the most peace loving persons you will ever meet, largely because he knows first hand what a tragedy/horror war actually is. Such soldiers are also much more unlikely (as far as I know) to get violent in any form, compared to the normal population. Rather counterintuitively, they seem to have developed a higher threshold to get violent. Those are positive traits that seem to come from real suffering as a soldier.

Also, it should be noted how Putin repeatedly emphasized since the SMO started that soldiers who are found doing an outstanding job at the SMO will replace the heads of the military and even political structure in Russia! Putin emphasized that a number of times! And I think some of the points above are the reasons why Putin wants to do that; He knows that a GOOD soldier who has made outstanding efforts, will likely enforce good/sane/humane policies, when given the opportunity. Clearly Putin sees something very positive/important in such soldiers, and rightfully so IMO.

I'd been thinking for a while about how to respond to people on social media who seem so entrenched in their 'exceptionalist' Western world view, and do so in way that isn't just arguing against their perspective with "facts", but rather a succinct analysis of their world view. I thought of the "reality-based community" quote attributed to Karl Rove back in the post 9/11 era under Bush, and decided an inverted version of that might be appropriate. Here it is if anyone wants to use it.

Guys like you are in what we call the 'Western wishful thinking-based community,' which we define as people who believe that they are 'reality creators' and that what they want to be true is actually true.' That's not the way the world really works anymore. We live in a multi-polar world now that is based on observable, objective reality, with which we align ourselves.

While you study reality through your wishful thinking lens, as you will, you'll draw conclusions about events that are entirely false, and you will take action on that false perception and repeatedly fail in your endeavors, and that's how things will sort out.

By aligning ourselves with objective reality, we become the future...and you, all of you in the wishful-thinking based community, will repeatedly fail to make sense of the world, and eventually become little more than a dream in the past.

This happened immediately after he made the same proposal to legalize marijuana.

It makes sense, of course. You can't taste something like that without a joint.

That's who apparently was the target of this attack
Second day in a row US troops have been sighted in Ukraine. Yesterday - allegedly - it was the "US 3rd Battalion" someone made a video screenshot, on which a lower arm of a soldier is shown and he has a long triangle tattooed on his arm with a big 3 inside. I scoured the net for "US 3rd Battalion" tattoos and found insanely sophisticated, artfully overdone US army tattoos. So compared to those complex ones (looking like a Renaissance painting), this wretched tattoo on the video with a simple "triangle and a 3 put into it" sounded rather fishy..

Then today, when Military Summary reported the missile strike on Kramatorsk 26:09, Dima again talks about US troops that were hit there. He enumerates the various US battalions that were seen on those TG videos. Lots of English speech has been heard on scene as well..

So I guess USA us not-officially, but fully intentionally present in Ukraine in form of real-live in the flesh Boots on the Ground. These US troops were reported to have been massacred by Russia in that incident.
Recent historical examples are
1. the NATO base Russia destroyed in 2022 near Poland, again killing foreign military specialists / consultants.
2. NATO base annihilated this spring, 2023

The Ministry of Defense clarified whose soul Iskander was flying in Kramatorsk.
The Russian strike destroyed two Ukrainian generals at once
The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation has revealed details of the missile strike carried out on Kramatorsk on June 27 this year. According to the ministry, the target was the temporary deployment point of the 56th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).

It should be noted that earlier it became known about the destruction of one of the restaurants in Kramatorsk, where foreign mercenaries were staying. Now the Russian defense Ministry has brought clarity to this situation.

During a high-precision strike carried out on June 27 in Kramatorsk, Donetsk People's Republic, the temporary deployment point of the 56th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was destroyed. The attack killed two generals and up to 50 officers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as well as up to 20 foreign mercenaries and military advisers.

In addition, an ammunition depot of the 10th Mountain Assault Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was destroyed in the area of the village of Vyemka of the Donetsk People's Republic. And in the areas of the settlements of Vasiltsovka, Kharkiv region and Peschanoe in the DPR, two US-made AN/TPQ-50 counter-battery radar stations were eliminated.
Российским ударом уничтожены сразу украинских генерала

In general, it is a natural result. It will be more interesting later.
After the destruction of the American Patriots, the latter practically do not participate in repelling missile strikes
American Patriot systems are practically not involved in repelling missile strikes.

Despite the fact that Washington and Kiev deny any serious damage to the US Patriot air defense systems, Avia journalists. The missile defense drew attention to the fact that the operation of these air defense / missile defense systems is practically not fixed. Local sources report that shorter-range systems are working on targets, and if Patriots fire, it is very rare, releasing only a few missiles.

This fact indicates that almost all Patriot complexes transferred to Ukraine are damaged and cannot perform the functions assigned to them, which in turn indicates that the Russian military has accurately determined their location and, if not completely destroyed, at least damaged so much that the latter can no longer effectively cover the airspace of Ukraine. This also indicates that such American weapons are imperfect.
После уничтожения американских «Пэтриотов», последние практически не участвуют в отражении ракетных ударов

Drum roll. And here it is! Just what you can expect after the previous news. Poles buy a whole bunch of American shit. They probably think to take by the quantity in case of something. As it has been repeatedly written here-wishful thinking-in its purest form.
Poland buys 48 Patriot air defense systems from the United States
Washington has given the green light for the sale of an integrated air defense and missile defense (ABM) control system to Warsaw, according to the Agency for Security Cooperation of the US Department of Defense. The value of this transaction is estimated at $ 15 billion.

Information about the proposed transaction has already been submitted to the US Congress. At the same time, the Pentagon clarified that the main executors of this contract will be the largest arms manufacturers in the United States - Raytheon and Lockheed Martin. In total, Poland will receive 48 Patriot complexes from the United States.

Experts believe that the supply of such a large number of air defense systems can significantly strengthen the protection of Polish airspace, while it is obvious that we are talking about a layered defense system that will be deployed on relatively narrow sections of the border.

During what period Poland will be able to receive such weapons is not yet specified.
Польша закупает у США 48 комплексов ПВО Patriot

Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin III and German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius pledged today to continue their close partnership in supporting Ukraine and defending their countries' shared values.

The two leaders met at the Pentagon during Pistorius' first official visit to Washington as defense minister.

Austin noted that the Pentagon meeting marked his counterpart's first official visit to the U.S., remarking that he and Pistorius have seen a lot of each other lately — including at recent meetings of the NATO defense ministers and the Ukraine Defense Contact Group.

"And that's especially important during this dangerous time for European and global security," Austin said. "Russia has launched a cruel and unprovoked invasion of its peaceful neighbor, Ukraine. But Germany has committed itself to supporting ... Ukraine's sovereignty and its right to live in freedom."

The U.S. has pledged to stand with Ukraine for as long as necessary to defend against Russia.

Toward that end, the Biden administration has committed more than $40.5 billion in security assistance to Ukraine since Russia's invasion began in February 2022. The U.S. also leads an alliance of more than 50 countries in rallying behind Ukraine through the contact group.

Austin praised Germany for its contributions to Ukraine's defense forces.

"As Russia continues to direct this war of choice, I appreciate everything that Germany has done to strengthen Ukraine's capability," Austin said. "Your security assistance and training contributions for Ukraine's defenders have been invaluable, and we must keep pushing hard to help Ukraine succeed."

Austin said Ukraine is at a "key moment" in its fight for sovereignty, and he welcomed discussion with Pistorius on how the U.S. and Germany can meet the urgent challenges ahead.

In May, Germany announced 2.7 billion euros in military aid for Ukraine, including dozens of Leopard tanks, air defense systems and armored personnel carriers among other items.

Pistorius said that Germany, a country that once was on NATO's eastern-most flank, has a "special responsibility" to continue to defend the alliance.

Beyond Ukraine, Austin said he looked forward to discussing "other key issues in our bilateral defense relationship and ways that we can do even more together."

He also said that discussion would include ways the U.S. and Germany can work together to demonstrate their "shared commitment to a free and open Indo-Pacific."

Kicking out US/NATO troops from the Polish territory and stopping fueling the war in Ukraine would be much, much cheaper and way more efficient.

Possibly, or perhaps Putin is genuinely as relieved as he has sounded in all his statements since then that it did not get worse - much worse.

Scott Ritter here is pretty much in line with our take on it, arguing that Prigozhin has been a 'rogue actor' for some time now, and speculates that the only reason Wagner set out to take Bakhmut in the first place was to thwart the inevitable dissolution of his PMC by 'winning glory' and thus notoriety and popularity - at the cost, apparently, of some 20K Wagnerites.

If accurate, then Prigozhin's hysterical video rant in April (with the corpses of Wagner soldiers lined up in rows behind him) about how the MoD was needlessly wasting Russian lives (again, a UKRAINIAN propaganda talking point since this whole thing began), was in fact projection. PRIGOZHIN threw all those men to their deaths - for money.

This counter-accusation makes sense, if you think about Russia's overall war conduct in context. Recall how cautious the Russian MoD has been, preferring to surrender territory and towns rather than engage Ukrainian forces whenever they have the advantage and therefore take unnecessary losses. The Russian MoD wasn't going on and on about Bakhmut. Prigozhin's Wagner was.

The comments by Putin about the true financial status of Prigozhin / Wagner are very telling:

The Wagner Group was fully dependent on state support, Russian President Vladimir Putin told a meeting with the country's military commanders in the Kremlin on Tuesday. The private military company's fighters were supplied and paid by the Defense Ministry and the state budget, he added.

Between May 2022 and May 2023, the Russian authorities allocated 86.26 billion rubles ($1.04 billion) for wages and incentive payments for the Wagner fighters, the president revealed.

Meanwhile, Wagner founder Evgeny Prigozhin, who also owns the Concord catering company, earned billions of rubles on state contracts, Putin added.

"When the upkeep of the Wagner Group rested on the shoulders of the state, the Concord owner received... 80 billion rubles ($960 million) from the state in a year by supplying food products to the army," the president said.

"I hope that no one stole anything while fulfilling these [contracts]," he continued, adding that the authorities would "certainly dig into it."

It is thus maybe worth considering whether Prigozhin's use of Wagner troops as canon fodder - so as to bolster his own status via PR triumphs - came as a direct result of increasing financial pressure and the implication of the same as the process of reintegration of his business empire - away from his direct control (and extreme personal profit) and back into actual military/state system oversight may have played more of a incentivizing role in his nationalistic posturing than as yet has emerged. In other words, his monopoly business was under threat and the closer his arch 'enemies' in the Ministry of Defense got to taking control over his books, and a full audit, the more he played the card of a Russian hero fighting the good fight the way it should have been fought against Russia's true enemies in the ministry - and then as Wagner was withdrawn from the front line and in the process of being brought further under state oversight and control, tried to cover his tracks further with a desperate coup attempt.

I suspect Putin knows more on this matter than he is yet saying and his final line above regarding the digging that is going on will likely lead to some shocking proof of embezzlement, fraud and extreme greed at the cost of the lives and well being of Russian servicemen and women. In other words, we will again see a pathocratic oligarch revealed for what he is - a monumental crook and fraud, with all the posturing merely that - a cover story.

LOL!
MOSCOW, June 29 (Reuters) - Online prices for merchandise bearing the insignia of Russia's Wagner group - a human skull against a black and red backdrop - have shot up since its abortive armed mutiny, with buyers posting five-star reviews and support for the mercenaries.

Mercenary chief Yevgeny Prigozhin sent an armed convoy on a 1,200-km (750-mile) charge towards Moscow in protest over what he said was the incompetence and corruption of Russia's military leadership. A deal brokered by the leader of Belarus abruptly halted the mutiny late on Saturday.

E-commerce leader Wildberries' weekly price breakdowns showed how costs have risen. A patch depicting the skull that can be sewn onto clothes fetched 525 roubles ($6) in the period June 25-29, up sharply from 294 roubles during June 18-25.

"Due to the situation in the country, the purchase was spontaneous," wrote one buyer, Tatiana.

Prices for a black T-shirt emblazoned with a picture of a Wagner fighter holding a violin jumped this week to 1,650 roubles from 1,236 roubles.

On a review of a Wagner flag on Wildberries, one buyer, Vladimir, said: "The Wagner Private Military Company is the best. Good luck to you guys. The flag is excellent."

The Wagner fighters - who have spearheaded some of Russia's military actions in Ukraine - were cheered enthusiastically by residents in Rostov-on-Don on Saturday when they briefly took control of the southern Russian city. President Vladimir Putin described their actions as "treason" and "a stab in the back".

People have also been purchasing other regalia, such as keyrings, on Wildberries' rival Ozon.

"Very beautiful and original keyring," wrote one five-star reviewer. "In memory of all those in Wagner's ranks who died."

Large numbers of Wagner fighters - including many former convicts granted their freedom in exchange for serving in Ukraine - have been killed on the battlefield in Ukraine.

Wildberries and Ozon declined to comment on Thursday on the surge in merchandise prices.

Elsewhere, Prigozhin face masks were on sale in St Petersburg, alongside those of Putin, Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov and jailed opposition politician Alexey Navalny.

Under Saturday's deal that ended the mutiny, fighters of the Wagner group were allowed to join their leader Prigozhin in exile in Belarus, to be integrated into Russia's regular armed forces or to return to their families.

Great science knows no bounds. History is happening before our eyes - building strategic cooperation between Polish, American and Ukrainian scientists is an investment in the future. We must work now to make Ukraine flourish as a modern, prosperous, European country. And the way to this goal is cooperation in the scientific field. I keep my fingers crossed for groundbreaking projects!

A unit containing two Swedish mercenaries or volunteers in Ukraine ambushed, but do circumstances indicate a deeper issue for many Scandinavians?

The point that caused most reflection for me was that the Swedish mercenary, Christopher Forsbäck, seriously wounded in the ambush, had this quote on his FB profile cover photo:
1688113290214.png
And then the fellow was ambushed  by Russians presumably, unless it was "friendly fire" from other mercenaries, or from the UAF, which can happen too, though that is not the most probable reason.

According to the quote, Christopher Forsbäck did not hate Russians and loves what is behind him, in this case apparently those that ambushed him, so what was that guy doing in that place?

The comment on the FB page "What Western media does not show", was that "Another one bites the dust", which is an exaggeration, since the soldier will survive, but will he and others have learned anything in the process of getting back to more health? Where did many Swedes come from in the first place? Their ancient ancestors surely did not come from Scandinavia, which was covered by ice. Did history creep up on the unaware soldier from behind?

The evidence for the event:
From the FB of Caroline Nordengrip, found via the FB of " Vad västerländska medier inte visar | What the Western media does not show" Since the FB translation is inadequate, here is an enhanced machine translation followed by a screenshot of the original.
Yesterday afternoon my and Christopher Forsbäck's unit were ambushed. Chris suffered serious gunshot and shrapnel injuries and after a long awkward evacuation he finds himself in hospital last night.
He was still contactable when we handed him over to the ambulance last night and he had been awake this morning according to the doctors, but was put to sleep for surgery when I met him at 14 o'clock Ukrainian time.
Doctors look favorably on a 100% recovery.
Family is notified.
(After many questions I may add that I feel good only headache and a little sore)
1688112003491.png
For context and understanding the source, the word ambush is in the Swedish text bakh*ll, which should be bakhåll, a word probably as bad for a mercenary as swearing is for some others.

People around me are trying to live and think normally. Television puts them to sleep. They hope that everything will still "be like before."
Everything still functions on the principle of inertia as Gurdjieff wrote in "Meetings with Great People."
