Putin Recognizes Donbass Republics, Sends Russian Military to 'Denazify' Ukraine

Regarding the situation with General Popov. It seems that we now have Putin's reaction, which is not advertised as such, but which, judging by the speed of execution, is exactly that.
The news is dated April 9, that is, it was before the verdict was passed (April 24). Probably, this news is old and outdated.
Be that as it may, there is a version according to which Putin is aware of the situation with Popov. A strange game is underway, since the Ukrainian special services are hunting Popov. Thus, his (Popov's) presence in prison at the moment makes his life safer than if he were free. I would consider this version nonsense if General Moskalik had not been killed a few days ago.

Yes, I wasn't paying attention.

Да, я оказался не внимателен.

She probably meant Dagestan.
Dagestan in the sense of martial arts is much better suited, but Dagestan is still Russia and at international competitions there will be no reference only to Dagestan.
Дагестан в смысле единоборств подходит гораздо лучше, но Дагестан это все-таки Россия и на международных соревнованиях нигде не будет указания только на Дагестан.

I think a possible reason for this treatment of Popov is that his higher ups are afraid of a similar attempted coup as Prigozhin tried.

Makes no sense to me. Since when being afraid of something that may happen is a sufficient reason to bust someone 'cause maybe in some undefined future... Does it really make sense to you?

I can see two possibilities:
- He was actually guilty of fraud; even then some turns in his case are difficult to explain without some kind of a personal involvement and pressure on the investigation and judicial authorities
- He has not committed any fraud crime and his only fault was his attempt to get the truth about the situation on the SVO battlefields heard and amended. Giving his excellent military track record, sending him to Syria for several month would have been more than enough to make sure he understood his mistake - he is not a hothead like Prigozhin was. Anything more than that smells wrath and personal revenge to me.

Why was his case moved to Tambov, some 500 km away from Moscow where Popov lives and when under home arrest he had to travel to the court sometimes day after day after day to hearings taking place at 10:30 a.m.? What is so special about the Tambov court?

It's not only hyper-patriotic nationalists talking about mismanagement within the SVO that puts soldiers' lives in direct and unnecessary danger. Just look at the number of investigations and court cases opened and either already concluded or still ongoing. Much bigger than Ivan Popov's case, with no one coming forth to testify and defend them. Compare, for example, Popov's and Shamarin's cases and sentences. In another fraud case, though not military, Sergei Mochalnikov - former deputy minister of energy - was sentenced by Moscow court to 1.5 years in a penal colony on the very same day. According to officials, the amount of damage in the case is more than 170 million rubles.

Cannot wait to see results of Colonel General Khalil Arslanov's case where billions of rubles were stolen from the MoD. He was a deputy chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces under Shoigu.

Yes, it makes sense to me that the Prigozhin coup attempt (which happened not long before Popov's insubordination) may have played a major role. Popov's threat to his bosses to ignore the chain of command could be seen as him being "out of control" or a hothead. Or it could be some personal revenge by Gerasimov or others for something that we do not know about.

"Full-scale war": Kiev's "at least 30 days" ceasefire proposal means "rebuilding a modern and capable armed forces of Ukraine" under the British command. Now it's clear why Zelensky requested more weapons from Trump during the meeting in Vatican.

Ukraine is ready to support a lasting, durable, and full ceasefire. And this is what we are constantly proposing, for at least 30 days, he added.
"Full ceasefire" cannot be "at least 30 days".

Speculations and some satire
In Krzysztof Jackowski - Polish Clairvoyant, there was:
On a beautiful June summer day on a sunny day we will learn about the outbreak of a new war. It will not be in Europe. It will be an attack on Iran. In June there will be a similar panic as in Ukraine. Borders in Europe will be closed. European politicians will scare us with the third world war. There will be conscription and borders will be closed. There will be a short lull in the war for a week to three weeks.

There will be a powerful explosion related to gas.
Could it be that part of the US push for some agreement with Russia is in part because they suspect, sense, know, or have been told to shift gears? That does not mean Trump and his team do not sincerely want peace in Ukraine, but it may not be their only motivation, apart from Making America Great Again.

Zelensky has been a very successful actor, no Oscar yet, but huge revenues, millions of followers, tens of thousands of front page headlines, and prime time shows all across the western world. However, as so often, when a long running show is being winded down, a main character has to be scripted out or retired. This can happen in different ways, one of which is to make radical changes to the script and introduce other actors, even more attention grabbing. If Zelensky survives the transformation, he might be eligible to perform in a Parisian cabaret sponsored by Macron wanabee Napoleon, his wanabee woman, and Keir wanabee Churchill. What Zelensky used to do is up their alley. It is all speculations and some satire, but the world has seen stranger things.

I wonder what Medvedev has in mind - he did rule out any Russian attack on the EU as 'nonsense':

The rebirth of Nazism cannot be allowed in any nation, and Europe may need an international de-Nazification effort, former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has said.

"All set for 30 days ceasefire trap": The US intends to increase military assistance to Ukraine after both countries signed mineral recourses deal.
[...]
After the agreement is signed, Washington plans to increase arms supplies, including Patriot air defense systems, armored vehicles, and precision-guided munitions. New aid could include ATACMS missiles and additional drones to bolster Ukraine’s capabilities on the eastern and southern fronts. The decision is linked to the U.S.’s desire to ensure stability in regions where key deposits are located, such as titanium ore in the Zaporizhia region and lithium deposits in the Donbas.
Fortunately, Russia knows it's a trap designed by US, UK and France to send military units to Ukraine.

Putin confirms North Korea sent thousands of troops to fight in Ukraine as Russia-NK alliance deepens
05/01/2025 .
  • Putin confirms North Korea has sent 12,000 troops to fight alongside Russian forces in Ukraine, marking Pyongyang's first major overseas combat mission since the Korean War.

  • North Korean state media declares the deployment aims to "annihilate Ukrainian forces" in Kursk, framing it as a heroic mission for their homeland.

  • Reports reveal heavy North Korean casualties (4,700, including 600 dead) due to unfamiliarity with modern warfare, though Ukrainian forces struggle against their sheer numbers.

  • The Russia-North Korea alliance includes arms exchanges and a new mutual defense pact, raising global security concerns and potential escalation with the U.S. and South Korea.

  • The conflict expands as North Korea tests nuclear-capable missiles and threatens South Korea, transforming the Ukraine war into a broader geopolitical crisis
The world is now witnessing a dangerous and unprecedented military alliance between Moscow and Pyongyang, with Russian President Vladimir Putin publicly acknowledging that North Korea has sent thousands of troops to fight alongside Russian forces in Ukraine.

The confirmation comes just days after Putin declared the “full liberation” of Ukraine’s captured Kursk region, an assertion Kyiv strongly denies. The deployment, which intelligence reports estimate includes up to 12,000 North Korean soldiers, marks the first major overseas combat mission for the reclusive regime since the Korean War. But the move also signals a deepening partnership that could reshape global security, especially as North Korea flexes its nuclear capabilities and threatens South Korea

North Korean troops “shoulder to shoulder” with Russia

Putin, in an official Kremlin statement, praised the North Koreans, declaring they fought “shoulder to shoulder with Russian fighters” to defend Russia as if it were their own homeland. “The Russian people will never forget the heroism of the DPRK special forces,” Putin said, using North Korea’s official name. He promised to honor those killed in battle, calling them heroes who sacrificed for “our common freedom.”

North Korea’s state media, meanwhile, confirmed the deployment for the first time, quoting Kim Jong Un’s order to “annihilate and wipe out the Ukrainian neo-Nazi occupiers and liberate the Kursk area in cooperation with the Russian armed forces.” KCNA, the regime’s propaganda arm, hailed the mission as a victory, stating, “They who fought for justice are all heroes and representatives of the honor of the motherland.”

Russian training, heavy casualties, and battlefield reality

While North Korean soldiers are trained in brutal discipline, reports indicate they were woefully unprepared for modern warfare. Russian military footage showed instructors training North Koreans in AK-47 use, RPG handling, and anti-drone tactics — skills far removed from their rigid, isolated drills at home.

But the battlefield has been unforgiving. South Korea’s National Intelligence Service estimates 4,700 casualties, including 600 dead, among North Korean forces — an astonishing loss rate for a military with zero experience in large-scale conflicts outside the Korean Peninsula. Ukrainian drones and artillery have reportedly exploited their unfamiliarity with terrain and tactics. Still, Ukrainian commanders admit the sheer numbers of North Korean troops have created difficulties, with one general describing them as “highly motivated and well-prepared

A growing axis of autocracy

The troop deployment is just one facet of a deepening military alliance. North Korea has already shipped vast quantities of artillery shells and rockets to Russia, likely in exchange for advanced military technology, such as air defense systems and satellite expertise. The 2024 mutual defense pact, Pyongyang’s strongest since the Cold War, now binds both regimes together, raising fears of further escalation. Ukraine warns this could trigger direct conflict with the U.S. and South Korea.

“If the Kremlin sends North Korean troops to the territory of Ukraine, it would mean that North Korea is in a state of all-out war with Ukraine,” warned Oleksandr Merezhko, chair of Ukraine’s parliamentary foreign affairs committee. He predicted harsh consequences, forcing Washington and Seoul to react.

Meanwhile, analysts suggest Kim Jong Un’s gambit is a desperate bid for Russian war technology and economic aid, while Putin sees expendable troops to counter Ukraine’s dwindling manpower. Yet the human cost is staggering: thousands of young North Korean soldiers, many conscripted from remote regions, are being sacrificed for a dictator’s ambitions.

The war in Ukraine has now expanded beyond Europe, pulling in one of the world’s most oppressive regimes and accelerating a dangerous arms exchange between Russia and North Korea. With Pyongyang threatening nuclear war on South Korea and testing missiles capable of hitting the U.S., the consequences of this unholy alliancemay extend far beyond the battlefields of Kursk.

Medvedev spoke about the response in case of provocation of Kiev on Victory Day

Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev said in his Telegram channel that in the event of a real provocation on Victory Day from Ukraine, no one guarantees that May 10 will come in Kiev, and the leader of the Kiev regime, Vladimir Zelensky, understands this.

"The nit understands that in the event of a real provocation on Victory Day, no one guarantees that May 10 will come in Kiev," Medvedev wrote.

Zelensky rejected Russia's proposal for a truce in the days of the 80th anniversary of the Victory, saying that Kiev cannot guarantee the safety of foreign guests who will come to the parade on May 9 in Moscow, Agence France-Presse reported earlier, whose correspondent was among a group of journalists who heard this statement by the head of the Kiev regime.

Russia, by the decision of the President of the Russian Federation, declares a truce on the days of the 80th anniversary of the Victory: from zero hours from 7 to 8 May to zero hours from 10 to 11 May. During this period, all military operations are stopped, the Kremlin reported.

The Zelensky regime also violated the previous Easter truce, although before it began, after public hesitation, it still agreed with it. The Easter truce was declared by Russian President Vladimir Putin, it was valid from 18.00 on April 19 to 00.00 on April 21. The President said that he believes that Ukraine will follow the example of Russia. At the same time, Putin noted that Russian troops should be ready to repel possible violations of the truce and provocations by the enemy. The Russian Defense Ministry later reported that 4,9 thousand violations of the truce by the Ukrainian side were recorded during the truce.
