Putin Recognizes Donbass Republics, Sends Russian Military to 'Denazify' Ukraine

Preparing the water for some sort of false-flag?

Preparing a scapegoat should the UK have power outages due to some other unforeseen event?

Just more mindless fear-mongering?

Russia may have already put sleeper explosives on critical infrastructure in Britain's North Sea, the former head of the Royal Navy has warned.

Admiral Lord West warned offshore windfarms and undersea cables are at risk of attack as fears grow that Putin could wipe out the UK's power supply and cut off its telecommunications infrastructure.

'There's a risk as soon as you put critical infrastructure on the seabed,' the former Royal Navy chief told the Sun, adding that the Kremlin 'may have already put down sleeper explosives'.

Experts previously warned Russian attacks on wind farms and undersea cables could lead to riots and civil unrest in Britain.

Dr Dwayne Ryan Menezes, of the Polar Research & Policy Initiative, said an attack on the UK's critical infrastructure could 'cause internet outages and power blackouts.'

'As damage to cables can take days or weeks to fix, it could even lead to potential civil unrest and riots,' Dr Menezes said.

The rest of the article just goes on to assert that Russia probably blew up Nord Stream etc. etc. But interesting timing given the failure of the UK's so called green energy projects so far along with ageing infrastructure, weather events, earthquakes and all manner of reason we could lose power/internet…

More or less. According to Ritter DU is quite a bit different from contamination in the form of radiation caused by Atom-bombs and/or explosions of atomic reactors. He talks about DU as working/behaving more as a poison that gets dangerous as soon as you digest or inhale it. For example, if you would walk into a store room full of unused DU Munition, the radiation itself wouldn’t really be harmful. Or if you would walk over an area in which the soil is „decontaminated“ with DU dust, the radiation itself isn’t dangerous. When it enters the body, then it gets dangerous.

I dunno how true that is though.
That is about right, here are some excerpts from one Material Safety Data Sheet about uranium from Canada has:
Conditions to Avoid: Do not create dusty work conditions.

Hazardous Decomposition Products: Uranium metal fume and/or oxide can be produced during uranium fires. Radioactive progeny (daughters) thorium-234,protactinium-234, and protactinium-234m (metastable) are produced by natural radioactive decay and are the source of the majority of the penetrating radiation. These isotopes can be concentrated in situations where the metal is melted, condensed, or dissolved, potentially elevating the observed external dose rate.
Stability/Polymerization: Material is stable in closed containers at room temperature under normal storage and handling conditions. Hazardous polymerization cannot occur. In the presence of moisture or humidity, uranium metal may react to evolve flammable hydrogen gas. For depleted uranium oxide ,this hazard is greatly diminished or eliminated.
SECTION VI. HEALTH HAZARD INFORMATION
Summary of Risk: Uranium and its salts are both toxic and radioactive. Dermatitis, renal damage, acute necrotic arterial lesions, and possibly death may occur from extreme exposure. Inhalation of fine uranium particles presents increased radiation hazards; isolated uranium particles in the lungs may be a long-term cancer hazard. The more soluble uranium compounds are considered most toxic to the kidneys; the lung is the critical organ for insoluble respirable dusts or fines such as oxide powders. Uranium dusts are respiratory irritants, with coughing or shortness of breath as possible outcomes. Prolonged skin contact can cause damage to the basal cells. Radioactivity is the property of the spontaneous emissions of alpha or beta particles and gamma rays, by the disintegration of the nuclei of the atoms.
See also: the publication from Disarmament Forum on Uranium Weapons which analysed the problems caused by DU in Iraq. They write:
Depleted uranium (DU), the main by-product of uranium enrichment, is a chemically and radiologically toxic heavy metal. It is mildly radioactive, with about 60% of the activity of natural uranium.

Next other details from an article from the EU, published in 2010
Opinion on the Environmental and Health Risks Posed by Depleted Uranium
Natural uranium. Uranium is among the 20 most abundant elements on earth and ispresent in a variety of minerals. Its relative abundance is similar to that of silver or gold and U is more abundant than tin, mercury and lead.
For comparison, I tried to find out how much uranium there is in a ton of rock. This article from Sweden says that there are typically 2-3 grams per ton, but with large variations, but using those values if we have 1000 tons of rock it will give 2-3 kg of Uranium. With 2000 tons you have enough to make a 120 mm artillery round, with a 4.5 kg rod, but it would be more radioactive than a normal round, because the uranium is in natural form and not depleted of U235. For more on the content of uranium in rocks, see this article from the UK, which gives more and actually higher values. And this article from the US gives a value that corresponds to 4 grams per ton.

The EU paper mentioned that the amount of Uranium in some parts of the world is naturally high, even in water:
Due to its widespread presence, natural U occurs also in human food and drinking water. In groundwater and in private wells used for drinking water abstraction, concentrationsof U are highly variable, ranging from <0.1 up to 40 µg/L (UNSCEAR, 1993). Extremely high values (up to 12,400 µg/L) have been measured in groundwater in Finland and in other Nordic countries, linked to high concentrations of U in geologic formations (Karpaset al., 2005; Kurttio et al., 2005; NCRP, 1999).The average daily intake of natural U in humans is estimated as 1 to 2 µg from food and1.5 µg from drinking water (ATSDR, 1999; UBA, 2005; UNEP, 2001); ingestion with foodrepresents the major source in areas with low concentrations of U in drinking water(Fisenne et al., 1987; Priest, 2001).
The Depleted Uranium in artillery rounds, when used, will change to fragments of metal or oxides due to burning. Even if they are initially fragments, they will begin to oxidize, just like iron when it rusts.

The EU paper has this image showing the size of the particles of DU when the rounds are used:
1684762138860.png
Particles below 1 micrometer are called aerosols. Since the rounds in Kiev were exploded, we do not know how that influenced the size of the particles, but since an increase in radiation was measured, parts of them must have burned or were broken up into dust sized particles.

The next study found different kinds of uranium oxides when the dust left by exploded round:
Oxidation states of uranium in depleted uranium particles from Kuwait by B. Salbu a, K. Janssens b, O.C. Lind a, K. Proost b, L. Gijsels b, P.R. Danesi c Redirecting
Compared to well-defined standards, all investigated DU particles were oxidized. Uranium particles collected from swipes were characterized as UO2, U3O8 or a mixture of these oxidized forms, similar to that observed in DU affected areas in Kosovo. Uranium particles formed during fire in the DU ammunition facility were, however, present as oxidation state +5 and +6, with XANES spectra similar to solid uranyl standards. Environmental or health impact assessments for areas affected by DU munitions should therefore take into account the presence of respiratory UO2, U3O8 and even UO3 particles, their corresponding weathering rates and the subsequent mobilisation of U from oxidized DU particles.
From the WHO, 2002, there was: Depleted uranium: an overview of its properties and health effects (pdf) It has a table of the decay products from U238 among much else, but it is from 2002.

Most depleted uranium particles that come into the body are excreted, and only little remains. If a lot of dust comes around, one could boost detox procedures, as for any other heavy metal, what else to do? Wondering how people responded in Ukraine, I have checked Telegram Channels for Khmelnytskyi - life goes on, several channels are about finding jobs.

From what I heard from Scott Ritter the primary reason why Depleted Uranium has (and is still being used by some countries) instead of Tungsten, is that it is much cheaper. Followed closely by the fact that it is denser/heavier, thus causing more damage on impact.

The devastation of Depleted Uranium weapons in Iraq, Serbia and other places is well documented (a quick search in SOTT reveals plenty of results on the subject) and their deliberate use can be construed as war crimes. This shows how much NATO loves people in general, and in this case Ukrainians in particular.

Indeed! One could also ask if one goal of those Psychos using DU in Ukraine might be to destroy the breadbasket of the world, which, as far as I know, the very rich soils in Ukraine have been referred to? As far as I know, the soil in large parts of Ukraine is pretty outstanding in terms of extent and richness when it comes down to food production. One of a kind. If so, do they see it as another great opportunity to cause famines and/or depopulation via a „great reset“ kind of plan?

Yesterday was a hot day.

The key event of the past day was the attack by Ukrainian formations on the border Graivoronsky urban district in the Belgorod region. The enemy managed to stop only on the outskirts of Grayvoron.

At the moment, Russian units continue to clean up in the villages of Kozinka and Glotovo. At the same time, there are concentrations of forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Udy, Liptsy, Volchansk and Strelechya, Kharkov region.

At the same time, Ukrainian formations shelled at least nine settlements in the Belgorod region: residential buildings and civilian objects were damaged. According to the latest data, eight civilians were injured.
The sabotage group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine attacked the border crossing "Grayvoron" and invaded the territory of the Belgorod region. The enemy, with the support of two tanks, one armored personnel carrier and nine armored vehicles, was able to break through the first line of defense and deepen to a distance of up to 8 kilometers from the border. The Armed Forces of Ukraine were able to advance to the Kozinka-Glotovo intersection, and from there the DRG on foot reached the local House of Culture.

Are the US and NATO really planning this? :-O An article by John Helmer;
There is a grave risk that in three weeks’ time US and NATO forces will attempt direct combat against Russia.

The operational plan is to strike from Romanian airspace in the south and the Baltic states in the north, in camouflage of the NATO exercise called “Air Defender 23”, and under cover of US F-16 fighter aircraft purportedly operated by Ukrainian pilots but fuelled, directed, and guarded by more than two hundred US and NATO aircraft, including the most advanced US air war fighter, the F-35.
Interesting about the location of Romania is its border with the former Soviet Republic, Moldova, which now has a government heavily influenced by the US and the EU. The ruling Moldovan elite would like to join, or has been paid to like to join NATO, but one obstacle is the dispute over Transnistria which wishes to be independent and is aligned with Russia.

Looking up the word, Transnistria in the thread returned among the results this post from earlier in May:

Again, information is coming in about the preparation of a provocation in Transnistria, with the aim of capturing ammunition depots in Kolbasnoye. For these purposes, in the region of Odessa and near the borders of Transnistria, the accumulation of forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is underway. The task of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is to try to seize the warehouses and prevent them from being blown up, since the volumes of old Soviet ammunition stored there can make up for the lack of ammo for a number of positions, and above all for 122-mm and 152-mm shells, as well as missiles for " Grad".

⚡️The Armed Forces of Ukraine transferred thousands of military personnel to the Odessa region to prepare a provocation against Pridnestrovie, a RT source said.

Since the beginning of March, in the areas of the settlements of Dachnoe, Kamenka and Razdelnaya, local authorities began to transfer hangars intended for storing agricultural products to Ukrainian troops to accommodate personnel and equipment.

In April, up to 4,000 servicemen were sent there, who are now stationed in these hangars and change their places of deployment every two or three days.

From May 9 to May 15, one group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine plans to advance in the direction of Tiraspol in order to start an armed provocation to divert Russian troops, and the second will try to seize ammunition depots in the village of Kolbasna (PMR).
So far nothing has happened, but Russia will need to keep reserves and strategies at hand to be able to respond if needed. The NATO exercise in Romania could create interesting situations intentionally or not.

3 years prison in Germany
for supporting Russia's intervention in Ukraine

Alina Lipp, Russian-German reporter, now in Crimea, Russia - writes following in her Telegram channel "Neues aus Russland" [News from Russia"]

Russia supports: 32-year-old sentenced to 3 years in prison in Germany

So I'm definitely not going to Germany 😁🤯 (Alina Lipp)

The regional court in Hamburg sentenced 32-year-old Marcel J. to three years in prison on Monday for endorsing Russia's war of aggression against Ukraine and possession of weapons. According to a court spokesman, however, the amount of the sentence resulted primarily from the fact that the defendant had already been sentenced to prison in April by a Berlin district court for assaulting a journalist after a cross-dressing demonstration.

According to the indictment, the 32-year-old had justified Russia's war of aggression against Ukraine on social media, including calling Ukraine a "terrorist state." He operated a channel on the Telegram network, whose title and logo were based on the ultra-nationalist Russian party The Other Russia. He was also convicted of a weapons law violation for possessing a banned one-handed knife.

WELT

According to Ritter soil that has been contaminated in that way will stay poisonous practically „forever“. The only solution to get rid of it would be to dig up all the top soil of that area to a certain depth and put that poisonous earth safely away in containers.
Fallujah babies confirm the extremely deleterious effects of tonnes of exploded USA DU munitions dispersed in Iraq soil. DU dust usually settles in ammo depot explosion area of 40-50 square kilometers (source: Macgregor). Colonel Douglas Macgregor confirms Scott: 10-15 years max, until the alpha particles break down and the otherwise best quality Ukrainian black soil gets usable again. Greatest danger is eating DU dust directly via food.

We were strongly advised to wash all garden-grown vegetables in Hungary after Chernobyl (1986). Still my grandmother got sneaky cancers [removable], mom got heart problems, me got a cancerous growth in my nose [surgery]. And our area wasn't that badly affected! Was way worse in Western Hungary and especially neighboring countries in the North + West received most concentrated iodine-131 (weakest least dangerous with 8 days half-life), caesium-134 and caesium137 isotopes via rain-clouds.

DU cloud from the recent explosion [Britains DU ammunition depot in Ukraine] was headed for Poland, so some karma?

For example, if you would walk into a store room full of unused DU Munition, the radiation itself wouldn’t really be harmful.
USA Abrams tank armor contains DU, but radiation level is so low, it doesn't affect the crew. Unless the dust is eaten or inhaled for lung cancer. Large amounts of DU dust is generated as DU-ammunitions explode. It poisoned Iraq.

Medvedev says rat bastards who infiltrated Belgorod Region must be 'exterminated'

"The responsibility for them (acts of sabotage - TASS) lies with the Kiev regime and ultimately with its sponsors across the ocean, i.e. Washington, and the European Union countries together with states like Britain and others. This is their direct and immediate responsibility," Medvedev stressed."

I believe the Russians blew up the main and only bridge capable of carrying heavy equipment from that region into Southern Ukraine, so that they cannot mount an assault from that region any longer. Any attempt to penetrate from the Romanian region is a no go.

I just wanted to share some news and propose a theory why Russian MoD may be reluctant to praise Wagner group and give it medals, etc.

There was this news circulating Telegram for the past couple of days:

A suspect in the rape of two schoolgirls was detained in Novosibirsk. According to preliminary data, he served in the Wagner PMC and a few days ago his contract ended.

Police officers detained 42-year-old Sergei Sh. According to investigators, he met two girls from grades 4 and 5, threatened to blow them up with a grenade, and then led them behind the garages and abused them. After the incident, the schoolgirls told their parents about everything and indicated that the man was wearing a military uniform with a chevron on which a skull was depicted.

According to preliminary information, Sergei previously served in Wagner. On May 19, his contract came to an end and after returning, he met the girls and lured them behind the garages.

After the arrest, the man gave a confession and indicated to which particular place he had taken the girls. Now Sergei faces a more serious sentence: from 15 to 20 years.

There is no clear mention of him being an ex-convict. But we do know that Wagner took in a lot of convicts. It's true that officially we've been told that no rapists were allowed to join, but there is no real way to verify these claims. And even if he wasn't a convict prior to this, it definitely doesn't paint a pretty picture for Wagner. On the other hand, it's not like we didn't know that there are people like this that chose to be mercenaries. It is after all a Private Military company that employs mercenaries. And they do their job well. This is the nature of war, where people with various psyche "peculiarities" are able to do the job better than us "mostly neurotic normies".

So I am not saying that this is the reason for MoD reluctance to associate itself too closely with Wagner. But it does make people think, since it's not the first incidence. I am also sure that Prigozhin would deal with such a person in a harshest manner if he was still part of Wagner.

My ex colleague, for example, thinks that these kind of people shouldn't be allowed to return to society at all. Let them fight as much as they can and utilize their "talents", but in her view, they should be "dealt with" if it's their time to return to society. That dying on the field is the best and optimal outcome for them. She also made sure to mention that not all of them are like this. Apparently she knows someone who served in Wagner during Syria campaign, and now he has a big business, but the fact remains that Wagner took in a lot of volatile elements that once they will be done with their contract, no one know if they will honor whatever they learned while being part of the PMC.

From comments to Sott article:
... and here is the news just before the hour from CNN

"Ukraine is moments away from victory in Bakhmut"

a few moments later

... and here is the news on the hour from CNN

"Ukraine forces have been obliterated and Russia controls Artyomovsk"

Yesterday in the Columbus [USA TODAY] Dispatch - in the main (A) section of the paper:

1684861860062.png

Whereas, on the very last page of the Metro (B) section, below the fold and under the local weather:

1684862363636.png

1684862494325.png

The latter part of the Metro section has comics, puzzles, advice column, tv info, and celebrity birthdays - news of Russia's victory in Bakhmut rated placement after all that and below weather info. It also didn't rate placement in the EXTRA section that featured this front page:

1684862851079.png

1684863214264.png

Note the first sentence of the second paragraph is the only mention of actual fact, but is clearly reported as unconfirmed and doubtful along with assurances further on that a change in the situation will definitely happen! Don't want the natives to start to wonder about all those billions of tax dollars disappearing into the "fog of war"!

I hardly read the paper now due to the above example of blatant propaganda/disinformation, rather sticking to the comics, the Jumble, and the advice columns! I've usually already read the "news" the paper is reporting anyway, except without the bias.

Edit: Another Sott article on the subject:

I've noticed also something bit close close to your theory. Day after Prigozhin's announcement about retreat from Bakhmut, Wagner launched an attack on AFU. Media reported:

Ukraine war: Russia accused of using phosphorus bombs in Bakhmut

Then shortly allegedly they got requested support from MOD.

I am not competent to judge whether it was indeed phosphorous weapon. It is disputable for me if any buildings in that area still could be considered as civilian area. Finally Wagner is the private group but... looking on video it was quite of hell. It brings me impression that Musicians decided this time ends justify the means.

I don't remember if such aggressive offensive was performed by regular forces of Russia. Wagner brought results, but I suspect the MOD had given an ultimatum - no more of this, finish the job and get out of there. In that way Russia can just blow up in a days half of Ukraine and the war will be over but this is not a case isn't it?
