Putin Recognizes Donbass Republics, Sends Russian Military to 'Denazify' Ukraine

I think what Laura has said before applies here - NATO is like the tick crawling on an bear (Russia) with rape on its mind. The missiles that were shot at Russia vs the demonstrations from Russia are incomparable. NATO brought a knife to a gun fight. Putin knows what kind of beast he's dealing with, and I agree with others who said he's unlikely to do anything that is not absolutely necessary. If Russia and its people are not in any real danger, there's no need to respond. The Ukrainian missiles were just a message, not any real threat, so the response was a message as well (with a real implied threat this time).

Once Russia finishes cleaning up Ukraine, it will be a sobering moment for the beast - kinda like when Neo absorbed and exploded Agent Smith and the other agents looked at each other and ran. The real question for me is what is plan B when the Ukraine proxy war fails. When was the last time the west has so blatantly failed in its wars or even proxy wars? Granted all their wars were failures, but somehow they were still able to claim that they accomplished whatever vague and illusory objectives they had. This time I think is much more clear - Russia achieves what it came to do, keeps its territories, and Ukraine may or may not even exist at that point after denazification is completed too. And US/NATO has utterly failed to stop them. It would be a very high profile blow and will erode the last remnants of anyone still perceiving US as a dominant superpower. Which can have all sorts of cascading effects!

Of course, if Trump can manage to negotiate peace, I also agree that Russia will still get what it wants, but maybe the PTB can then save face and say they didn't lose, it's Trump who decided to pull US support out, so he "abandoned" Ukraine and gave Russia what they want. I imagine a very long media propaganda campaign about how Trump supported the "dictator" Putin etc. But seeing how probably the majority of the US are so fed up with supporting Ukraine anyway, this may no longer have any real effect. Yeah a bunch of lefties will be pissed, but maybe that's about it.

But "saving face", even if possible, will probably not be satisfactory. The geopolitical goals vs Russia failed, and that's a huge blow regardless of how it happened. I don't think the beast will just shrug and move on, so who knows what they will attempt next.

I wasn't acquainted with the 'MIRV' technology that was probably used in some form by Russia last night. This short video helps to understand what we saw over Dnipropetrovsk.

It's like a giant cluster warhead but the bomblets are missiles which activate their own power source after release. They arrive very fast in large numbers, and in the videos you can see what appears to be plasma forming as they reach terminal velocity.

I agree this was clearly a demonstration and to send a message - "Imagine this, but with a nuclear payload".

From South Front: (What was targeted?)

Russia Showed Its Doom’s Day Weapon In Action

"The missile struck the State Factory “Production Union Pivdennyi Machine-Building Plant named after O.M. Makarov”, officially abbreviated as Pivdenmash or Yuzhmash in the city of Dnipro (Dnepropetrovsk). According to local reports, the large industrial facility suffered strategic destruction. All communications and traffic were blocked in the area, a lot of ambulances arrived on the spot. Officers of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) came to the area. The scale of destruction is likely to be shown by the satellite imagery soon."

What does this company manufacture? (From Wikipedia)

"Pivdenmash produces spacecraft, launch vehicles (rockets), liquid-propellant rockets, landing gears, castings, forgings, tractors, tools, and industrial products. The company is headquartered in Dnipro, and reports to the State Space Agency of Ukraine. It works with international aerospace partners in 23 countries."

I think that what NATO is trying to do is escalate enough before Trump gets to power, so that Trump is either forced to carry on with the war, or de-escalate and negotiate, in which case they will have propaganda ammo to claim that Trump is Putin's agent, i.e. 'Russiagate' all over again. It will be a long couple of months until Trump takes over. And yes, I agree with Thorbiorn that those people are insane; we can calculate rationally what they are trying to do and how far they will take things, but there's always that crazy factor in the equation.

The Supreme Commander-in-Chief has once again put all the dots on I. There is nothing to add.
Vladimir Putin's statement in connection with the long-range missile strikes on Russia. Full text and video
Statement by the President of the Russian Federation.
Transcript of the speech:

Vladimir Putin: I would like to inform the personnel of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, the citizens of our country, our friends around the world, as well as those who continue to harbor illusions about the possibility of inflicting a strategic defeat on Russia, about the events that are taking place today in the zone of a special military operation, namely after the use of long-range weapons on our territory Western production.

Continuing the course of escalation of the conflict in Ukraine provoked by the West, the United States and its NATO allies previously announced that they were giving permission for the use of their long-range precision weapons systems on the territory of the Russian Federation. Experts are well aware, and the Russian side has repeatedly stressed this, that it is impossible to use such weapons without the direct participation of military specialists from countries producing such weapons.

On November 19, six ATACMS tactical missiles manufactured by the United States and on November 21, during a combined missile attack by Storm Shadow systems manufactured by the United Kingdom and HIMARS manufactured by the United States, military facilities in the territory of the Russian Federation - in the Bryansk and Kursk regions - were attacked. Since that moment, as we have repeatedly stressed earlier, the regional conflict in Ukraine provoked by the West has acquired elements of a global character. Our air defense systems repelled these attacks. As a result, the goals that were obviously set for themselves by the enemy were not achieved.

The fire that arose at the ammunition depot in the Bryansk region from the falling debris of ATACMS missiles has been eliminated, there are no casualties and no serious damage. In the Kursk region, an attack was carried out on one of the command posts of our North group. Unfortunately, as a result of the attack and anti-aircraft combat, there are casualties, dead and wounded from among the personnel of the external security units of the facility and maintenance personnel. The command and operational staff of the control center were not injured and are normally directing the actions of our troops to destroy and expel enemy units from the Kursk region.

Once again, I would like to emphasize that the use of such weapons by the enemy is not able to influence the course of hostilities in the zone of a special military operation. Our troops are successfully advancing along the entire line of contact. All the tasks that we set for ourselves will be solved.

In response to the use of American and British long-range weapons, on November 21 of this year, the Russian Armed Forces launched a combined attack on one of the facilities of the military-industrial complex of Ukraine. In combat conditions, one of the newest Russian medium-range missile systems was tested, in this case with a ballistic missile in a nuclear-free hypersonic equipment. Our rocket scientists called it "Hazel." The tests were successful, and the launch goal was achieved. On the territory of Ukraine, in the city of Dnepropetrovsk, one of the largest and most famous industrial complexes since the Soviet Union was hit, which still produces rocket technology and other weapons.

We are developing medium-range and shorter-range missiles as a response to US plans to produce and deploy medium-range and shorter-range missiles in Europe and the Asia-Pacific region. We believe that the United States made a mistake by unilaterally destroying the treaty on the elimination of intermediate-range and shorter-range missiles in 2019 under a far-fetched pretext. Today, the United States not only produces such equipment, but, as we can see, during the training of its troops, they have worked out the issues of transferring their promising missile systems to different regions of the world, including Europe. Moreover, during the exercises, they conduct training on their use.

Let me remind you that Russia has voluntarily, unilaterally committed itself not to deploy medium-range and shorter-range missiles until such time as American weapons of this kind appear in any region of the world.

I repeat: we are conducting combat tests of the Oreshnik missile system in response to the aggressive actions of NATO countries against Russia. The issue of further deployment of medium-range and shorter-range missiles will be decided by us, depending on the actions of the United States and its satellites. The targets for destruction during further tests of our newest missile systems will be determined by us based on threats to the security of the Russian Federation. We consider ourselves entitled to use our weapons against the military facilities of those countries that allow their weapons to be used against our facilities, and in the event of an escalation of aggressive actions, we will respond just as decisively and in a mirror manner. I recommend that the ruling elites of those countries that have plans to use their military contingents against Russia seriously think about this.

Of course, when choosing, if necessary, and as a response, facilities for the destruction of such systems as Oreshnik on the territory of Ukraine, we will offer civilians in advance, as well as ask citizens of friendly states located there to leave dangerous zones. We will do this for humanitarian reasons - openly, publicly, without fear of opposition from the enemy, who also receives this information.

Why without fear? Because there are no means of countering such weapons today. Missiles attack targets at a speed of 10 Mach - 2.5-3 kilometers per second. Modern air defense systems available in the world and missile defense systems created by the Americans in Europe do not intercept such missiles, this is excluded.

I would like to emphasize once again that it is not Russia, but the United States that has destroyed the international security system and, continuing to fight and cling to its hegemony, is pushing the whole world towards a global conflict. We have always preferred and are now ready to resolve all disputed issues by peaceful means, but we are also ready for any development of events.

If anyone else doubts this, then in vain - there will always be an answer.

- The warheads approach at a speed of 10 Mach, or 2.5-3km/s
- There are no air defense systems in the world capable of intercepting the "Oreshnik"
- Putin states that Russia will warn about strikes by the Oreshnik missile to avoid civilian casualties

The videos of the Russian missile(s) arriving this morning in were obviously difficult to interpret due to the video quality, but we noticed very high speed and what some people were calling 'plasma' effects, due to the fact that each missile seemed to 'glow' along it's entire length as it passed through the air before impact. Common or garden missiles do now 'glow' in this way, compare the Iranian missile attack last month on Israel for comparison.

This evening Putin said that the missiles used were 'new' and they were fired as part of a real-world 'test'. The video evidence suggests that the missiles carried relatively small (if any) warheads (relatively small explosive impact on the ground). This would be consistent with Putin's statement that they were a 'test'. Indeed, given their alleged speed of 12,500km/h, the kinetic force alone could do significant damage to a precise target.

According to the Pentagon spokesperson today, while the US is concerned about Russia's use of "a new type of weapon", specifically, "an experimental intermediate range ballistic missile", Ukraine has withstood attacks by Russia with significantly larger warheads" [presumably referring to FAB 1500 and 3000 glide bombs that Russia has been using extensively in recent months].

So, officially, there's nothing here for the Pentagon to really worry about. That is, of course, 'officially'. Behind closed doors, the idea that Russia has successfully used a "new" and "experimental" missile against Ukraine is probably causing slightly more concern. Because it seems clear, at this point, that today's events were more about a showcasing of what the Russian military can do, both to to Ukraine and to its erstwhile 'allies' if they cross a certain 'red line'. Where, precisely, that line is perhaps even the Russians cannot say right now. But we'll all definitely know it when it's crossed.

Uneasy times for sure...

Yes, that's all explained here by Putin himself in his TV address this evening:

I remember when he announced that Russia had new unstoppable weapons back in March 2018. He seemed to hope the US would understand what this meant and 'course-correct'. Alas, here we are, and it looks like he's going to have to actually use them to make the NeoCons understand.

His statement about warning civilians presumably refers to those in Europe living in proximity to NATO military sites like bases and air fields. This means Russia doesn't need the element of surprise because, as Putin explained, the US has nothing with which to block such missiles. They'll be able to announce "we're going to strike here," and all anyone can do is evacuate.

Well, what is it? I "congratulate" everyone, we are all witnessing the world's first combat use of a strategic missile system. There is only one step left to the highest point, the ICBM, and after it there is nuclear.
I couldn't get past my "beloved" Iron Dimon.
Medvedev: A strike by "Oreshnik" is probably what the West wanted

MOSCOW, November 21st. /tass/. The strike on Yuzhmash by the latest hypersonic missile Oreshnik is probably what the West wanted. With such an ironic remark in English, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev accompanied a video recording of the strike on the social network X.

"Isn't that what you wanted? Well, you got it, damn it," the politician wrote. "A hypersonic ballistic missile strike."

Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced in a video announcement about the successful test of a supersonic missile that cannot be intercepted by air defense systems. It struck the Ukrainian defense enterprise Yuzhmash.

Russia's actions were retaliatory: Moscow reacted in this way to the decision of the United States and Great Britain to authorize long-range missile strikes on the territory of the Russian Federation.

An interesting episode. Maria Zakharova received a call from a certain uncle right during the Foreign Ministry briefing and, rather familiarly, calling her Masha, ordered her not to comment on the strike, which everyone is talking about now.
Maria Zakharova received a call during the briefing and was told not to comment on the strike on Dnepropetrovsk and the ICBM

It would not even give them enough time to evaluate according to this data:

It would not even give them enough time to evaluate according to this data:

You can warn than a week in advance, because there is no counteraction anyway.
There may be a curious situation with these warnings. To "warn" all ports and airports of the most stubborn countries in their desire to "defeat Russia on the battlefield" at once, and not to strike. However, in order for this to work 100%, you will first have to significantly "take out" a couple of objects, otherwise many still think that "Putin is bluffing." The endless Russian red lines, crossed by the West with absolutely no consequences, are affecting.

Insights by Col. Douglas Macgregor - before the latest response by Russia [there are NO North Korean troops in Ukraine - being used as an excuse] in interview with Clayton Morris and after, Napolitano interview:

Based on what Col. Macgregor is saying in the second interview, I have to wonder if these military figures throwing gasoline on the fire are in fact the underground human-hybrid replacements the Cs have said are operating across the planet. Even Macgregor is calling them out as psychopaths!

Of note from the first interview, the belief that the population of Ukraine will be completely annihilated. Are they not more Russian than anything and aren't they the ethnic semitic/Aryan group the 4DSTS wants obliterated? Is this the real reason for this madness?
