Putin Recognizes Donbass Republics, Sends Russian Military to 'Denazify' Ukraine

Trump's plans for Ukraine, Europe plan, Kiev plan - such a fuss is happening. Putin said that Russia was satisfied with the course of the military campaign, and now directly this was probably in order to make less fuss.

Personally, I am somewhat surprised by a couple of points in connection with the emerging "peace" plans.
The first point is that the plans include some commitments from NATO. Thus, NATO is formally declared a participant in the conflict (informally, it has long been clear to everyone), and then where are Russia's retaliatory actions against formal enemies? Maybe the expected Oreshnik will fly somewhere towards London, Paris, Berlin?
The second point is the "cunning" of the Americans. They have already divided up the Russian frozen assets in their plans and "modestly" allocated half of the income from future investments to themselves. There are also supposed to be some negotiations between NATO and Russia with the mediation of the United States. How do you like it? A key NATO member suddenly becomes a mediator.
It is also very significant, although quite predictable, that in their "plans" ukrops first demanded an "indulgence" in the form of an obligation not to pursue them and to withdraw all claims against them.
The airspace over the Kapustin Yar training ground is closed until November 30, as new Oreshnik strikes are expected in Ukraine
The airspace over the Kapustin Yar landfill in the Astrakhan region of Russia is closed until November 30, 2025. The restriction is related to conducting tests, including possible missile launches.

Ukrainian resources, including Telegram channels associated with military circles, express expectations regarding the launches of the Russian Oreshnik ballistic missile. This missile, capable of reaching speeds of more than Mach 10 and equipped with separable warheads, was already used on November 21, 2024, against the Dnieper, which caused prolonged explosions.

The closure of the airspace confirms the activity at the landfill, previously identified by OSINT analysts.

According to ABC-news Ukraine agreed on the conditions of the peace plan, according to an unnamed U.S. official. Unfortunately, I'm not holding my breath until it is signed for real, with these back-and-forths of Trump politics in the past and not even considering Zelenskyy and his ilk.

A US official privy to negotiations is claiming major progress Tuesday, telling ABC News the Ukrainian delegation has agreed to the United States' potential peace plan, at a moment it's still being hotly debated, especially among the Europeans.

"The Ukrainians have agreed to the peace deal," the US official said, but without specifying much in the way of details. "There are some minor details to be sorted out but they have agreed to a peace deal."

The changes to the peace plan (especially the cap on the Ukrainian army rising to 800, 000, and Article 5 style security guarantees) means that now Russia will be unable to accept it. Round and round it goes. Whichever side is presented as the obstacle to peace, the US will threaten with the same consequences they have already failed to impose. They have therefore lost any meaning they had. Meanwhile Ukraine's defence collapses and the gang in power weighs up its options, all of which are self serving.

Bloomberg has leaked a transcript between Steve Witkoff and Yuri Ushakov where the former coached Russians how to win over US president with flattery during Ukraine peace talks:
A leaked phone call revealed a top aide of President Trump helped coach the Russians on how to win the commander in chief over with flattery while navigating negotiations on a Ukraine peace deal, according to a report.

The call between Trump’s special envoy Steve Witkoff and Yuri Ushakov, the top foreign policy aide to Russian President Vladimir Putin, on Oct. 14, discussed the possibility of Putin and Trump hopping on a phone call to discuss a peace plan, according to the transcript of a recording obtained by Bloomberg.

On the five-minute call, Witkoff advised Ushakov to instruct Putin to congratulate Trump and open the conversation with some complimentary remarks.

“I would make the call and just reiterate that you congratulate the president on this achievement, that you supported it, supported it, that you respect that he is a man of peace, and you’re just, you’re really glad to have seen it happen,” Witkoff said.
“Hey Steve, I agree with you that he will congratulate, he will say that Mr. Trump is a real peace man, and so and so. That he will say,” Ushakov said, appearing to take the suggestion.

Witkoff also laid out how he believed the peace deal would be accomplished, maintaining he thought that land concessions were necessary.

“Now, me to you, I know what it’s going to take to get a peace deal done: Donetsk and maybe a land swap somewhere,” Witkoff told Ushakov.
“But I’m saying instead of talking like that, let’s talk more hopefully because I think we’re going to get to a deal here,” he continued.

Witkoff, who helped broker the 20-point Gaza peace plan, suggested to Ushakov that Moscow and Washington emulate that deal.

“We put a 20-point Trump plan together that was 20 points for peace, and I’m thinking maybe we do the same thing with you,” Witkoff said.
The call came days before Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky visited the White House for discussions.

Witkoff urged Ushakov to get Putin and Trump on the phone before his sitdown with Zelensky.

“I will go to that meeting because they want me there, but I think if possible, we have the call with your boss before that Friday meeting,” he said.

Trump said he hadn’t heard the Witkoff recording, but maintained the call between the special envoy and Ushakov was a “standard form of negotiation.”

“That’s a standard thing. He’s got to sell this to Ukraine, he’s got to sell Ukraine to Russia, that’s what a dealmaker does. You got to say, look, you want this, you got to convince them of this,” the president told reporters Tuesday night.

“That’s a very standard form of negotiation. I haven’t heard it, but I heard it was a standard negotiation, and I would imagine he would say the same thing to Ukraine, cause each party has to give and take,” Trump continued.

The discussion between the top officials appeared to predict Witkoff’s approach to constructing Trump’s controversial 28-point peace plan to end the nearly four-year war between the nations.

It seems like a typical standard negotiation conversation, but Witkoff is already being labeled a traitor.

How did Bloomberg get access to this call? It seems like someone at the top is doing damage control to prolong the matter again.

Ukraine has an interesting history, here are two older articles from Topwar, both relating to the area of of what is Ukraine during the time at the end and after WWI, following the Russian Revolution.

The following is from a book by Konstantin Georgiyevich Paustovsky (Wiki) Violet ray. Ukraine 1918. The story of Paustovsky published 25 March 2017. The author describes incidents from the civil war, as it went back and forth in Kiev. There are many differences between then and now, but also some similarities.
It was not possible to figure out what was happening. The time was convulsive, impetuous, the upheavals were rushing in. In the very first days of the appearance of each new power, there were clear and formidable signs of its swift and miserable fall.

Each government was in a hurry to announce more declarations and decrees, hoping that at least one of these declarations would leak into life and get stuck in it.

From the reign of Petliura, as well as from the reign of the hetman, left a feeling of complete uncertainty about the future and the confusion of thought.

Petliura most of all hoped for the French, who occupied Odessa at that time. Soviet troops inexorably hung from the north.

Petliurists spread rumors that the French are already going to the rescue of Kiev, as if they were already in Vinnytsia, in Fastov and tomorrow even brave French trousers in red trousers and protective feses might appear even in Boyars near the city itself. Petlyura, his bosom friend of the French consul Enno, swore this to Petliura.

Newspapers, dumbfounded by contradictory rumors, willingly printed all this nonsense, while almost everyone knew that the French were sitting in Odessa, in their French occupation zone, and that the "zones of influence" in the city (French, Greek and Ukrainian) were simply fenced off apart loosened Viennese chairs.

Rumors at Petlyura acquired the character of a spontaneous, almost cosmic phenomenon, similar to the plague. It was a general hypnosis.

These rumors have lost their direct purpose - to report fictional facts. Rumors have acquired a new entity, as if a different substance. They have become a means of complacency, a powerful narcotic drug. People found hope for the future only in hearsay. Even on the surface, Kievites looked like morphine.

With each new rumor, their eyes lit up until then dull eyes, the usual lethargy disappeared, the speech from the tongue-tied turned into lively and even witty.

There were rumors fleeting and rumors long in force. They kept people in deceptive arousal for two or three days.

Even the most experienced skeptics believed everything, to the extent that Ukraine would be declared one of the departments of France and President Poincaré himself was going to Kiev to solemnly proclaim this state act, or that film actress Vera Cold collected her army and, like Joan of Arc, entered a white horse at the head of his reckless army in the city of Priluki, where he declared himself the Ukrainian empress.

One time I wrote down all these rumors, but then I quit. From this occupation, or fatally collapsed head, or quiet rage came. Then I wanted to destroy everyone, starting with Poincare and President Wilson and ending with Makhno and the famous ataman Zeleny, who kept his residence in the village of Tripoli near Kiev.

I, unfortunately, destroyed these records. In essence, it was a monstrous apocryphal lie and irrepressible fantasy of helpless, confused people.

In order to recover a little, I re-read my favorite books, transparent, warmed with unfading light:

"Spring Waters" by Turgenev, "Blue Star" by Boris Zaitsev, "Tristan and Isolde", "Manon Lesko". These books really shone in the gloom of vague Kiev evenings, like incorruptible stars.
Today, the information spreading is different, but many might be as helpless and confused? When it is all over and some look back, what will they tell after a few years of reflection. I am not there, but has followed it. Will I reflect on whether I was too occupied with the updates? Did I miss out on opportunities to learn something that could have proved more useful in the long term? Was the balance alright?

Anyway, in Ukraine, more than hundred years ago, there was a mix of groups fighting and marauding during the Civil War. This is the topic of the next article:
Pana Atamans: freedom-loving insurgents of Ukraine or just bandits? 16 June 2014
The term “greens” is widely spread among the people. During the Civil War, the insurgent units who fought against the “whites” and against the “reds” were so called. Often, Makhno himself is considered to be “green”, although the phenomenon of Nestor Ivanovich is of a slightly different nature. The Makhnov Revolutionary Insurgent Army nevertheless had a distinct anarchist ideology, relied on the support of broad sections of the peasant population of Yekaterinoslav, and moreover, Makhno himself was not just a field commander, but a revolutionary — an anarchist with pre-revolutionary experience. Therefore, the Makhnovists could rather be called “black”, according to the color of the anarchist banner, if we are to write about the opposing sides of the Civic, using analogies with the color gamut.
[...]

In this article we will talk about several such units operating in the territory of the Ukraine, which is modern Ukraine. Moreover, in the light of the events currently taking place in Donetsk and Lugansk, the topic of the Civil War, unfortunately, has again become topical.
[...]
Even if one gets to some state of cessation of active conflict in Ukraine, the chaos propagation may continue, since it is as if several European elites are intending to sow enough confusion for them to keep capitalizing politically from the wounds. Probably they can not do it without affecting their own countries in a destructive way. It may even be part of their motivation, though they were elected to serve their countries, but then they may have more in common with people like Zelensky than meets the eye.
