Reality behind the Curtain - Movies

Hello Everyone!

I've seen movies that have been useful to me in gleaning a little bit of insight into possibly understanding what the reality behind the matrix may be like and how it works.
I've posted them here for you entertainment and convenience.
What got my attention about these movies was that all the events were happening around the seemingly benign daily activities that surrounds people.

Please comment if you agree/disagree :D

If you would like a full synopsis of the movies listed below, you can find them at IMBD.COM.....

The Matrix Movies - Keanu Reeves
1999 The sixth sense - Bruce Willis
2000 Unbreakable - Samuel L. Jackson
2008 The Happening - Mark Wahlberg
2006 Lady in the Water - Paul Gianatti
2004 Birth - Nicole Kidman
1999 American Beauty - Kevin Spacey
2002 Signs - Mel Gibson
2007 The Mist - Thomas Jane ( Spoiler ) There is a religious fanatic " psychopath" in this film!
2002 They- Laura Regan
2007 Invasion- Nicole Kidman
1998 Dark City - Rufus Sewell
1995 Powder - Sean Patrick Flanery

I'd like to add:

2005 Revolver - Jason Statham (quite violent, but seems to reference essence (True I) and personality (Predator) well, IMO.)
2002 The Moth Man Prophecies - Richard Gere (Based on a true story(?). 4th Density window faller?)
2006 V for Vendetta - Natalie Portman (From the creators of the Matrix series)

Certain there was one other one to add but it's not coming to mind.  :(

There was an article once on the signs page a few years back with a sort of top 10 recommended Sign's team movies. Not sure if it can be found or has been mentioned here before. Theory is that it was part of an article, though can't be sure. The movies might also have been mentioned in a podcast.

An articles found while searching for those 10 movies: Five science fiction movies that get the science right http://www.sott.net/articles/show/156125-Five-science-fiction-movies-that-get-the-science-right

one more matrix oriented:

The Thirteenth Floor (1999)

(Don't mistaken it for the horror movie with a same title from 1988 ;) )

some of these, as it is with anything out of hollywood i suppose, have a bit of a "noisy signal" - but they were films i've seen along the way that had a big impact and got the wheels turning...

2002 Equilibrium - Christian Bale, Taye Diggs

In a futuristic world, a strict regime has eliminated war by suppressing emotions: books, art and music are strictly forbidden and feeling is a crime punishable by death. Cleric John Preston (Bale) is a top ranking government agent responsible for destroying those who resist the rules. Whe he misses a dose of Prozium, a mind-altering drug that hinders emotion, Preston, who has been trained to enforce the strict laws of the new regime, suddenly becomes the only person capable of overthrowing it.

2006 The Fountain - Hugh Jackman, Rachel Weisz

Three stories - one each from the past, present, and future - about men in pursuit of eternity with their love. A conquistador in Mayan country searches for the tree of life to free his captive queen; a medical researcher, working with various trees, looks for a cure that will save his dying wife; a space traveler, traveling with an aged tree encapsulated within a bubble, moves toward a dying star that's wrapped in a nebula; he seeks eternity with his love. The stories intersect and parallel; the quests fail and succeed.

2004 The Forgotten - Julianne Moore, Christopher Kovaleski

A grieving mother, Telly Paretta, is struggling to cope with the loss of her 9-year-old son. She is stunned when her psychiatrist and her husband tell her that she has created eight years of memories of a son she never had. But when she meets the father of one of her son's friends who is having the same experience, Telly embarks on a mission to prove her son's existence and her sanity.

2004 Primer - Shane Carruth, David Sullivan

The film stars Carruth as Aaron and David Sullivan as Abe, two engineers who create a device which will allow an object or person to travel backwards in time. The pair initially use the device to cheat on the stock market, but ultimately they cannot resist the temptation to meddle with every aspect of their lives. Through recklessness they create increasingly complex paradoxes, and ultimately their newfound power begins to destroy their friendship.

You can listen to it in podcast: Zinedine Zidane, Israeli Crimes Against Humanity, and Ten Films to Better Understand our Reality

But the transcript is currently "filled" with empty posts: Transcript # 61

As far as I can remeber it, but not in the right order, it has been:

*Pretty in pink*
*Beautiful girls*
*Donnie Darko*
*American Beauty*
*Star Trek: The wrath of Khan*

Id just like to add They Live (1988) to the list:

'They influence our decisions without us knowing it. They numb our senses without us feeling it. They control our lives without us realizing it. THEY LIVE.'

A rugged loner (RODDY PIPER) stumbles upon a terrifying discovery: goulish creatures are masquerading as humans while they lull the public into submission through subliminal advertising messages. Only specially made sunglasses make the deadly truth visible.

Its very much rooted in 3rd Density ( not real spiritual and doesnt have any higher self messages hidden in there as far as can tell ) and an obvious choice but its ringing more and more true as time goes on.

Oooohh yea, I saw this movie a while back and it scared the bejeeezes out of me, especially when the guy puts on the sunglasses and sees their faces...

They looked like walking skeletons !!!!! :scared:

You know, I just wanted to add something that came to mind, I can imagine that once a human being seats all of their selves within their body, that's how they'll be able to view things and people... not by what they look like on the outside but by what they actually are on the inside (like x-ray vision) and see who actually has a propensity for STO or STS orientation.

i would like to add

Pleasantville (1998)
_http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0120789/
which can be taken as an allegory of 'breaking out of one's reality'

eXistenZ (1999)
_http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0120907/

and another vote vor "The Thirteenth Floor"

question: recommended video and movie list (?)

While watching these last days ´Knowing and being` and ´The trap´ I thought it might be an idea to create also a recommended video and movie list, as is done with the recommended reading list.

This on it could be

- Knowing and Being
- The trap
- V

Re: question: recommended video and movie list (?)

And of course don't forget the famous pentagon flash!

Re: question: recommended video and movie list (?)

I'd definitely recommend Evidence of Revision, Waltz with Bashir, The Shock Doctrine, and The Power of Nightmares as non-fiction stories that are really great. Everyone should watch them IMO.

Is the shock doctrine really a -full-length-movie-(beside the book)? I read about it a while back and clicked around on the homepage and couldn't find anything, so I thought it is just the smaller movie advertising the book.

Michael Winterbottom, who made The Road to Guantanamo, made a documentary based on The Shock Doctrine. It was recently shown on Channel 4 in the UK. It features some footage of Klein speaking at different engagements and documentary footage of the events she is describing. It's a good overview of her main thesis.
