All right Laura, another fact about durabone that can best be summarized in two words:
"South Carolina"
Part of the appeal for me in reading your Wave series was the fact that you were in Florida,
and other parts of the Southeast. I have been in California for many years now, so when I
picked up "The Wave," I was captured by all of the goings on in what my childhood still
portrays to me as a sleepy little hamlet of good ole' Deep-Fried repression. My travels
of late have convinced me now though, that things sure have changed back there.
I finally figured out the problem... because of our bandwidth restrictions, a special program has been installed that blocks a lot of stuff... like images. I had to click the "modify" button to see that there was a url to an image in a couple of the above posts.
In other words, all I saw was this text in durabone's post:
Well I had the same reaction but the only difference is that I got the picture
So for our forumites who are note experts in the US culture, this thing hanging on the wall is a Jiffy Pop. It is in an aluminium envelope containing unpopped pop corns. When the heat increases the pan-like envelope transforms into a big bubble :
