He has never played with a full deck. I think he's still prevails to be Israels conduit as far as processing the theft of Syria's oil for the black-market.

Bomb attack on Kurdish-US convoy in Syria reportedly kills 5 (VIDEO)
Edited time: 21 Jan, 2019 11:46 / 1 minute read
A car bomb detonated close to a militia checkpoint in the Kurd-held city of Al-Shaddadah in northwestern Syria as a US-Kurdish convoy was passing by. At least five people may have been killed.

According to the Kurdish Hawar News Agency, the explosives were hidden in a Hyundai car, which detonated at a checkpoint set at the entrance to the town near a bridge over the Khabur River.

The explosion was set off by a suicide driver, who was told to stop by the militia fighters manning the checkpoint.

There are conflicting reports on whether the attack resulted in causalities. The Kurdish agency says it did not, but some Turkish sources state as many as five people were killed by the explosion. Some reports say the checkpoint was attacked while a joint US-Kurdish patrol was passing by and that some US service members may have been hurt.

A large number of people living in the villages and towns in Eastern Euphrates that are under the control of the US and the SDF, hoisted Syria's national flag and called for the return of the Damascus Army's troops to the region, the Arabic-language service of Russia Today reported on Wednesday.

It also noted that concurrent with people's call, a sum of 12 tribes in the city of Deir Ezzur and 23 tribes from the province have called for the reconstruction of bridges to reconnect the two banks of the Euphrates River and also requested the Syrian Army to seize control of the region once again.

Also, the elders of Sharaf tribes of the Euphrates pointed to the demolition of all bridges linking the Western and Eastern banks of the Euphrates by the US-led coalition, and said that they will welcome the Syrian Army and its allied forces back to the region to force the US and its allied SDF militants out.

In a relevant development on Tuesday, media activists said that the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces have engaged in plundering people's properties and public infrastructure in areas under their control in Deir Ezzur as tensions between the SDF and civilians have sharply heightened.

The SDF fighters are stealing from houses in the villages of Albu Badran, al-Sha'afeh and Albu Khater where the ISIL terrorists have retreated from, the media activists in Eastern Deir Ezzur reported.

Last month, US President Donald Trump abruptly announced plans to withdraw American forces from the war-weary country, Yeni Safak reported. Trump made the decision during a phone call with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, in which the two leaders agreed on the need for more effective coordination vis-à-vis Syria. In a phone call last week, Erdogan and Trump discussed the idea of establishing a terror-free safe zone in Northern Syria near the Turkish border.

The report noted Qafqazi's proximity with Abu Mohammad Jolani and that he was second-in-command of Tahrir al-Sham who had taken part in worst possible crimes in Northern Syria.

The sources were also quoted by Sputnik as saying that al-Qafqazi also in cooperation with Jolani played an important role in facilitating passage of terrorists from Central Asia and Caucasus via borders with Turkey.

Erdogan arrived in Moscow on Wednesday with several of his cabinet members for a day-long visit, Al-Jazeera reported.

Earlier on Wednesday, the Russian foreign ministry said the situation in the region, where Moscow and Ankara have tried to create a de-escalation zone, was rapidly deteriorating and that it was almost under the full control of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) - a rebel group that was previously linked to al-Qaeda.

"Unfortunately there are many problems there and we see them," Putin said, standing alongside Erdogan at a joint press conference following the meeting.

He added that Turkey was doing a lot to try to remedy the situation, but that more action by both Ankara and Moscow was required to "liquidate the actions of terrorist groups".

During an interview on Thursday, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said that Ankara and Moscow are on the same page when it comes to peace in Syria; however, where they differ is on the future of President Bashar Al-Assad.

“We are on the same page with Russia except for Assad,” Hurryiet Daily reported the Foreign Minister as saying.

“They obviously want to continue with him. But we tell them a man responsible for the death of more than one million Syrians cannot bring about unity’,” he added.

The Turkish regime has called for Assad to step down for most of the war while attempting to prop up the opposition and rebel groups fighting the government.

A number of Russian warplanes have been spotted over the Idlib Governorate in the last 48 hours, a Syrian military source told Al-Masdar News.

2019-01-24 - Russian warplanes circle Idlib as new offensive becomes real possibility
https://www.almasdarnews.com/articl...ib-as-new-offensive-becomes-real-possibility/

According to the source, the Russian warplanes were specifically concentrated on the western countryside of Idlib, which is where several foreign jihadists are currently active.

The Russian warplanes were likely focused on the Jisr Al-Shughour District and Jabal Al-Zawiyah, as these two areas have a large presence of jihadists from Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham and the Turkestan Islamic Party.

Due to Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham’s recent expansion in the Idlib Governorate, Al-Masdar has learned from a military officer in Damascus that the commanders of the Syrian and Russian forces are once again discussing a potential offensive in this region of the country.

The officer said that the Russian military has been pressuring Turkey to either expel the jihadists or allow the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) to clear the demilitarized zone.

The Turkish-sponsored safe zone in northern Syria has yet to be agreed upon by either the U.S. Coalition or the Russian forces, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said on Thursday.

In an interview with broadcaster A Haber, Cavusoglu said Turkey and the United States had started discussing who will be in the administration of Syria’s Manbij, a town currently controlled by a militia allied to U.S.-backed Kurdish forces.

However, despite Turkey’s insistence on taking control of Manbij, the local militia that is loyal to the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) is uninterested in allowing the Turkish-backed rebels to take hold of the city.

Manbij was captured by the Syrian Democratic Forces during their northeast Aleppo campaign 2016 against the Islamic State (ISIS/ISIL/IS/Daesh).

The former spokesperson for the US-backed Mughawar Al-Thawra group, “Abu Jarah”, was allegedly dismissed from his role after he was caught raping a ten-year-old girl in the Rukban Refugee Camp near the Al-Tanf region, the former spokesperson for the New Syrian Army (NSyA) Mzahem Alsaloum tweeted this morning, citing a report from Liveuamap.

The U.S. Coalition has yet to issue a statement on this matter.

Despite President Trump’s previous pledge to withdraw US troops from Syria, Washington is considering keeping some troops in al-Tanf, a strategic base in southeastern Syria, to counter Iran’s regional clout, according to Foreign Policy magazine.

“Al-Tanf is a critical element in the effort to prevent Iran from establishing a ground line of communications from Iran through Iraq through Syria to southern Lebanon in support of Lebanese Hezbollah,” an unnamed senior US military source told the magazine.

Foreign Policy also cited a US government official as saying that staying at al-Tanf could raise legal issues for the Trump administration.

First of all, the 2001 Authorization for Use of Military Force stipulates the use of force against non-state militants, rather than nations like Iran, no matter how problematic they may be.

Secondly, there is a question mark over President Trump’s willingness to approve a plan that keeps US forces in Syria amid the current US troop withdrawal from the Middle Eastern country.

Earlier this month, Hilal Hilal, the assistant regional secretary of the Arab Socialist Baath Party, said that Damascus would continue to demand the withdrawal of US troops from the al-Tanf base.

A former commander of the Syrian army underlined that the country's missiles have been concealed in secret places to remain safe from enemies' attacks, warning that the entire Israeli occupied territories are within the range of these missiles.

"Syria's missiles enjoy high capabilities and have been stockpiled in large numbers as a deterrence against a massive war in the Middle-East region," General Reza Shariqi was quoted as saying by the Arabic-language service of Sputnik on Saturday.

He added that the Israeli 'Iron Dome' defense shield cannot intercept all Syrian missiles in case of war, saying, "Our strategic missiles can reach any target in the occupied territories." General Shariqi said that Syria has stockpiled its missiles in secret places to remain safe against the Israeli and terrorist groups' attacks.

His remarks came after Israel deployed the Iron Dome short-range missile defense system in the Tel Aviv metropolitan area on Thursday, The Times of Israel reported citing the IDF statement.

The deployment came the day after Syrian Envoy to the UN Bashar Jaafari suggested that Syria might exercise its right to self-defense and launch an airstrike on Tel Aviv Airport in response to recent Israeli air raids on Damascus International Airport.

In a new article published by the National Interest on Friday, the author highlights both Syria’s improved air defenses and the measures taken by Israel to counter these new weapons.

2019-01-26 - Israel uses kamikaze-drone to counter Syria’s new air defenses: report
https://www.almasdarnews.com/articl...ne-to-counter-syrias-new-air-defenses-report/

According to the author Sebastien Roblin, the new Israeli Air Force attack on the Damascus countryside, last Sunday revealed Syria’s improved air defense systems as they were able to intercept some of the enemy missiles.

However, despite the improvements on the Syrian side, it appears Israel has found a way to counter these Russian weapons in the form of kamikaze-drones.

“In fact, the recent raids may reveal improvements to Syria’s air defense forces due to ongoing Russian training and weapons transfers. However, they also reveal Israel’s continuing ability to defeat, including through likely use of kamikaze-drones.”

Citing a military commentator, Roblin suggests that Israel likely used kamikaze-drones to overwhelm the Syrian military’s Pantsir systems.

According to Alftayeh, the anti-SAM weapon was likely an Israeli-built Harop (Harpy 2) kamikaze drone, which can either be remotely piloted, or set to automatically home in on radar emissions, detonating a seventy-pound explosive on impact. The Harop has a maximum speed of 115 miles per hour, and can loiter over the battlefield for six hours.

In addition to Roblin’s suggestion, Muraselon Agency also made a similar observation shortly after the attack.

The picture shows that the radar is not set up as compared with a picture of an operating Pantsir:
“The IDF may have used additional types of weapons, including GPS-guided Delilah cruise missiles, which also have man-in-the-loop capabilities. carried by F-16s, or bombs or glide-bombs fitted with a hi-tech SPICE kit including dual GPS and electro-optical guidance.”

With Syria’s S-300 system scheduled to enter service in March 2019, it is very likely that Israel will continue to develop countermeasures to combat the effectiveness of the Russian-made air defense equipment.

The Arabic-language service of Sputnik news agency reported that the convoy, consisting of US-made Hummer vehicles and other military equipment supplied by Washington, was sent to the Western parts of Raqqa city to suppress the tribal people's uprising.

It added that thousands of SDF forces have also been stationed in regions near the towns of Hunaideh and al-Mansoureh, noting that the US forces deployed in Western Raqqa have withdrawn from the two towns towards Eastern Euphrates for their fear of popular uprising.

Other reports also said that the SDF militants have in the past three days attacked over 600 houses in the two towns, and detained at least 70 people, adding that the civilians threw stones at the Kurdish vehicles to stop the arrests.

In a relevant development on Thursday, the people of Raqqa in Northern Syria poured to the streets to protest at the US-backed SDF moves in the region, setting fire at a number of their bases.

The Syrian Foreign Ministry responded to Turkey’s recent reference to the 1998 Adana Agreement to justify their future military invasion in northern Syria.

Sat Jan 26, 2019 - Breaking: Syria accuses Turkey of being in violation of Adana Agreement since 2011
https://www.almasdarnews.com/articl...g-in-violation-of-adana-agreement-since-2011/

In a statement to Syrian TV, the Foreign Ministry said that they have been in compliance with the Adana Agreement, despite Turkey’s repeated violations since 2011.

“Syria confirms that it is in compliance with the Adana Interstate Agreement on Combating Terrorism in all its forms and all agreements related to it, but the Turkish regime has been violating the agreement since 2011 up to now by sponsoring and supporting terrorism, training militants and making it easier for them to go to SAR, or through the occupation of Syrian territories with terrorist groups it controls it or directly with the help of the Turkish Armed Forces,” Syrian state television quoted a source in the ministry as saying.

As shown below, these are the five commitments that both Turkey and Syria agreed to during the 1998 Adana Agreement:

1. As of now, Öcalan is not in Syria and he definitely will not be allowed to enter Syria.

2. PKK elements abroad will not be permitted to enter Syria.

3. As of now PKK camps are not operational and definitely will not be allowed to become active.

4. Many PKK members have been arrested and have been taken to court. Their lists have been prepared. Syria presented these lists to the Turkish side.

The Syrian side has confirmed the above mentioned points. Furthermore, the sides also have agreed on the following points:

1. Syria, on the basis of the principle of reciprocity, will not permit any activity which emanates from its territory aimed at jeopardizing the security and stability of Turkey. Syria will not allow the supply of weapons, logistic material, financial support to and propaganda activities of the PKK on its territory.

2. Syria has recognized that the PKK is a terrorist organization. Syria has, alongside other terrorist organizations, prohibited all activities of the PKK and its affiliated organizations on its territory.

3. Syria will not allow the PKK to establish camps and other facilities for training and shelter or to have commercial activities on its territory.

4. Syria will not allow PKK members to use its country for transit to third countries.

5. Syria will take all necessary measures to prevent the chieftain of the PKK terrorist organization from entering into Syrian territory and will instruct its authorities at border points to that effect.

Both sides have agreed to establish certain mechanisms for the effective and transparent implementation of the measures mentioned above.

The sources pointed to the reinforcement of the Syrian Army in Northern, Northwestern and Western Hama, and said that the Russian aircraft are constantly monitoring areas under the occupation of the terrorists.

They said that the Syrian Army is likely to kick start military operations in Northern Syria as terrorists show no respect for the agreement on the demilitarized.

In a new interview with Bloomberg News, a senior official from the Syrian Democratic Council said that they choose Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad over Turkey’s Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

“It isn’t comfortable for us but what is the other option?” Ilham Ahmed of the Syrian Democratic Council told Bloomberg.

“If we were cornered into choosing between a Turkish militia attacking our areas,” and reaching an accord with President Bashar al-Assad, she said in an interview in Washington, “we would go with the regime.”

Ahmed’s comments come at a time in which Turkey is threatening to invade the areas governed by the Syrian Democratic Council in northern and eastern Syria.

Furthermore, the Syrian Democratic Council recently presented an 11-point plan to Damascus in order to reach a political settlement.

A government source told Al-Masdar News shortly after a meeting with the Syrian Democratic Council that there were still some issues with the 11-point plan, but that they were working on a solution.

The remarks made by Emmanuel Macron, President of the French regime, on Syria were not strange as they affirm the continuous failure of the policies adopted by the successive French governments towards Syria which were inspired by a black legacy of colonialism and which led France to be of no weight in the international arena, an official source at the Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Exaptriates said on Monday.

Macron Had Better Solve His Country's Internal Crisis Instead of Interfering in Other Countries' Affairs: Foreign Ministry

"Macron's talk about the political process in Syria is nothing but a bid to wash his hands from the blood that was shed in Syria because of his country's destructive policies," the source added.

"The one, whose regime has provided all forms of support for the terrorist groups in Syria and its foreign minister had described the terrorists of Jabhat al-Nusra as "revolutionaries" and whose policies have contributed to undermining political initiatives that aimed to find a solution to the crisis in Syria, lacks the least level of credibility, because he is talking about a kind of political process with western colonialist specifications that contradict the interests and aspirations of the Syrians in preserving their country's unity, sovereignty and independent decision," the source made it clear.

The source went on to say that Syria is absolutely not interested in having any kind of relations with a country that took part in the terrorist aggression and in shedding the blood of the Syrian , clarifying that Macron's remarks reflects the French regime's feeling of the bitterness of defeat because of the failure of the conspiracy hatched against Syria.

The French regime president, who has lost popular legitimacy, had better used his abilities in tackling the internal crises hitting his country instead of interfering in other countries' affairs, the source said.

Earlier on Monday Macron, during a press conference with his Egyptian counterpart in Cairo, described bids to normalize ties with Syria as "irresponsible decision".

According to reports from the eastern Mediterranean, ships from Russia’s Black Sea Fleet were reportedly conducting drills between the Syrian and Cypriot territorial waters.

The first phase of the Russian military began on January 8th and then two other phases were held throughout the month.

Russia has repeatedly held drills in the Mediterranean Sea off the Syrian coast in 2018, with the largest such exercises held in September, when 26 ships and 34 aircraft engaged in training in the area amid threats by the US-led coalition to launch airstrikes against Syria under the pretext of the use of chemical weapons in the country’s rebel and terrorist-held Idlib province.

In November, Russia deployed the Kalibr missile-armed Admiral Makarov frigate to the Mediterranean. Russia has repeatedly used Kalibrs against Daesh (ISIS)*, al-Nusra and other terrorist groups in Syria. The long-range missiles were first used in October 2015, when gunboats in the Caspian Sea launched Kalibrs at targets over 1,500 km away in Syria.

Russia beefed up its Mediterranean Sea deployment this summer, deploying the Admiral Grigorovich, Admiral Essen and Pytlivy frigates to the area, along with the Nikolai Filchenkov landing ship and the Vishny Volochek missile corvette.

The western Mediterranean has been the source of considerable friction between regional and world powers in recent months.

According to online observer Manu Gomez, an Iranian 747 EP-SHH from Saha Airlines departed from Tehran’s Mehrabad International Airport to the Damascus International Airport this afternoon.

In the past, the Israeli Air Force has bombed the Damascus International Airport and its surrounding area in order to prevent the cargo from reaching its intended destination.

When the Iranian cargo plane made the flight to Damascus last week, there was some concern that the Israeli Air Force might attack the capital city.

This became a greater concern for the Syrian military when Israeli warplanes were spotted along the Lebanese-Syrian border later that evening.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held a meeting Tuesday with Russian Special Presidential Envoy for Syria Alexander Lavrentyev and Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Vershinin in Jerusalem.

https://www.almasdarnews.com/articl...an-defense-official-to-discuss-iran-in-syria/

The sides discussed the situation in Syria, Iran’s activity in the conflict-torn state and security coordination mechanism between Israeli and Russian military.

Israel traditionally views Iran as its main opponent in the Middle East region and is concerned over the alleged presence of Iranian military instructors as well as the Hezbollah Shia movement, backed by Tehran, in neighboring Syria.

Iran has repeatedly stressed that Tehran sends advisers only at the official request of the Syrian government.

Furthermore, during the press conference in Moscow on Thursday, Zakharova said the “White Helmets” have prepared the necessary equipment in hospitals in Idlib to accuse the Syrian military of using chemical weapons.

Zakharova added that Moscow urges Washington to immediately “withdraw their illegitimate troops” from Syria as soon as possible.

The Kurdish militia units on Wednesday blocked a convoy of humanitarian aid sent by the Syrian authorities to the city of Hajin, forcing the vehicles to turn around, Lt. Gen. Sergei Solomatin, head of the Russian Center for Syrian Reconciliation said.

According to Solomatin, Damascus, together with the Syrian Arab Red Crescent Society organized on 30 January shipment of humanitarian aid to Hajin, located on the eastern bank of the Euphrates River.

“A column of humanitarian aid consisting of 10 trucks carrying bottled water, food and medical supplies, as well as hygiene products and basic necessities, was blocked in the area of the settlement of Al-Husaynia by Kurdish units from the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces,” Solomating said at a briefing.

Solomatin specified that Kurdish militia forced the convoy to turn around, obeying strict orders by the US military officials.

The Arab-Kurdish detachments of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) have been engaged in a military operation against the Daesh in the terrorists’ last outpost in the city of Hajin. The US-led coalition has been carrying out frequent airstrikes on Hajin and nearby villages under the pretext of assisting the SDF in its anti-Daesh fight.

UN Emergency Relief Coordinator Mark Lowcock urged the United Nations Security Council to back aid delivery to Syrians “suffering a cold, hard winter” with shortages of basic needs “from blankets to baby milk and bandages,” in New York City on Wednesday.

“Millions are living under tents or tarpaulins or damaged buildings with no power or heating. There are severe shortages of all the basics, from blankets to baby milk to bandages,” Lowcock told the UNSC.

Lowcock stressed the need for an aid convoy to reach some 42,000 people reportedly living in Rukban along the Syria-Jordan border.

“On 27 January we received verbal approval from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Damascus for the convoy to proceed. Security guarantees have also been received from the Russian Federation and from international coalition forces. Planning is now underway for loading of the trucks to begin before the end of the week and for them to set off by 5 February,” Lowcock said.

Syrian Permanent Representative to the United Nations Bashar Jaafari also addressed the UNSC on Wednesday.

A source from the Tiger Forces told Al-Masdar News on Wednesday afternoon that the claims about infighting between their group and the 4th Division were “Turkish regime lies.”

2019-01-30 - ‘Turkish regime lies’ – Syrian Army denies Russian, Iranian infighting claims in Hama

https://www.almasdarnews.com/articl...es-russian-iranian-infighting-claims-in-hama/

According to the source, the Tiger Forces and 4th Division had no confrontation at any time nor did the Russian military demand that the alleged Iranian-backed forces withdraw from the northern countryside of Hama.

The source said that the Iranian-backed forces have a small presence in northern Hama, adding that the claims of Iranian bases in the area were exaggerated and untrue.

These allegations were first spread by opposition groups via social media and were later claimed by Turkish state-owned media.

Al-Masdar also reached out to sources in the government stronghold of Mhardeh, who also confirmed that these claims of infighting were false.

Ankara is integrating the terrorist groups in regions occupied by them in Northern Syria, sources said, adding that the move contradicts Turkey's undertakings under the Sochi agreement.

Farsnews

Syria's Arabic-language al-Watan newspaper quoted sources close to the terrorists as saying on Thursday that the Turkish military and intelligence officials have promised the ringleaders of Ahrar al-Sham, Nour al-Din Zinki and the so-called National Liberation Front (NLF) terrorist groups that they will merge them along with Tahrir al-Sham al-Hay'at (the Levant Liberation Board or the Al-Nusra Front) within the framework of a military organization.

They added that Turkey has also promised them to set up a parliament and an autonomous government after dissolution of Tahrir al-Sham in territories occupied by the militants, adding that Faylaq al-Sham which has recently been joined by 18 other terrorist groups in Northern Idlib and Western Aleppo is due to be the political branch of the new organization and Tahrir al-Sham will take the responsibility for its military wing.

The military experts warned that Turkey's measures are against the Sochi agreement to establish a demilitarized zone in Northern Syria and the Turkish president's promises to his Russian counterpart in the last week meeting in Moscow, adding that the move by Ankara has left the Syrian army with the only option of cleansing Tahrir al-Sham from the demilitarized zone.

Similar reports earlier this month also said that the terrorists of Tahrir al-Sham are pursuing the new scenario to establish a new integrated military organization in Idlib after the terrorist group extended its presence in the province in cooperation with Turkey.

The ISIL has asked the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) to transfer them from the last territories under their control in Eastern Euphrates to Turkey and Idlib to arrive at a ceasefire between the two sides.

The Arabic-language al-Hal news website affiliated to the militants quoted SDF commander Ahmed al-Sultan as saying that the ISIL has demanded the Kurds to set up a safe corridor for them to move to Turkey or Idlib and Jabal Turkman in Northern Lattakia. He claimed that the SDF has rejected the ISIL demand.

Meantime, the Arabic-language Stepnews website, also affiliated to the militants in Syria, reported on Wednesday that the SDF and ISIL in Eastern Deir Ezzur have secretly agreed on a ceasefire.

Based on reports, the ISIL is surrounded in a 6sq/km region in Southeastern Deir Ezzur in Eastern Euphrates.

Earlier this week, the ISIL occupied a new region in Eastern Deir Ezzur after the US fighter jets wrongly attacked the Washington-backed SDF, killing and wounding a number of them.

The Arabic-language al-Baladi news website affiliated to the terrorists reported last Friday that in a blue-on-greens air assault the US-led coalition's warplanes targeted a group of SDF forces in the town of al-Baqouz in Eastern Deir Ezzur with white phosphorous bombs, killing 5 and wounding 7 others.

According to the report, after the attack, the ISIL militants took the chance and occupied Baqouz after the SDF pulled out of the region.

The US airstrikes in Deir Ezzur inflict large casualties on the civilian population almost on a daily basis.

The Syrian and Russian armies have sent new military convoys to Northern Syria to launch military operations as they continue to repel offensives of Tahrir al-Sham al-Hay'at (the Levant Liberation Board or the Al-Nusra Front) terrorist group and its allies in Northern Hama and Southern Idlib.

Syrian, Russian Armies on Threshold of Military Operations in Idlib

Field sources in Northern Syria reported on Thursday that the Syrian army has sent a large military convoy, consisting of hundreds of forces and heavy military equipment, from Southern Syria to its positions in Northern Hama.

They added that the Russian military forces have also been sent to Southeastern Idlib near Abu Zohour airbase, noting that Moscow and Damascus are preparing for operations to cleanse Tahrir al-Sham militants from Northern Syria.

The Russian fighter jets and reconnaissance planes are also permanently flying over the regions occupied by terrorists in Northern Syria.

A U.S. judge has ruled that Syrian President Bashar al-Assad’s government is liable for at least $302.5 million in damages for its role in the 2012 death of renowned American journalist Marie Colvin while covering the Syrian civil war.

Assad slightly disagrees with who's "liable":

In a 2016 interview with NBC News quoted by CNN, Assad said Colvin herself was at fault in her death. “It’s a war and she came illegally to Syria, she worked with the terrorists, and because she came illegally, she’s responsible of everything that befell her,” Assad said.

A biographical film about Colvin, called “A Private War” and starring British actress Rosamund Pike, was released last year, bringing fresh attention to her career.

U.S. courts periodically handle lawsuits filed against foreign governments accusing them of liability in the death or injury of Americans. For example, a U.S. court on Dec. 24 ordered North Korea’s government to pay $501 million in damages for the torture and death of U.S. college student Otto Warmbier, who died in 2017 shortly after being released from a North Korean prison.

She just needed a "White Helmet" so everyone would know why she was there...
