US military reinforcements arrive at Syria’s largest oil field
BEIRUT, LEBANON (7:30 P.M.) – Reinforcements from the U.S. military arrived at Syria’s largest oil field on Sunday, as they continued their deployment at this crucial site in the eastern part of the country.

According to reports, the U.S. military sent a large number of military personnel to the Al-‘Umar Oil Fields in eastern Deir Ezzor.

This deployment comes just days after the U.S. President Donald Trump tweeted that America had ‘secured’ Syria’s oil after their battle against the Islamic State (ISIS/ISIL/IS/Daesh).

While Trump says that the U.S. is controlled the oil fields to prevent a resurgence of the Islamic State, the Russian Ministry of Defense accused Washington of stealing Syria’s oil in order to intensify their economic blockade against Damascus.

The U.S. has previously attempted to block Iranian oil from reaching Syria’s shores and they have also opened fire on Syrian ferries attempting to transport smuggled oil from the eastern part of the country.

IN VIDEO: LARGE RUSSIAN CONVOY HEADS TO NORTHERN AL-HASAKAH
A large unit of the Russian Military Police arrived in the afternoon of October 27 in the town of Tell Tamr in the northern al-Hasakah countryside in northeast Syria.

The North Press Agency (NPA) released a video showing dozens of Russian armored vehicles and trucks heading to thetown. The Russian convoy was escorted by personnel of the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and local Kurdish forces.

Earlier today, the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) announced that their units will withdraw 32 km away from the border with Turkey in accordance with the recent Russian-Turkish agreement.

Meanwhile, SAA continued to deploy units in the northern al-Hasakah countryside, reaching the border with Turkey east of the occupied town of Ras al-Ayn.

The Russian Military Police will likely conduct joint patrols with SAA troops between Tell Tamr and Ras al-Ayn’s eastern countryside. The Russian-Turkish agreement dictates that only these two forces should be deployed on the border with Turkey.

Russian Air Force destroys 3 jihadist command centers in Idlib
BEIRUT, LEBANON (11:45 P.M.) – Russian warplanes launched a series of raids, during which several targets belonging to Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham were destroyed in the southern countryside of Idlib.

A field source in southern Idlib told the Sputnik News Agency that raids carried out by Russian warplanes targeted the military headquarters and crowds belonging to the HTS terrorist organization in the towns of Taftanaz, Hass, Kafr Nabl and Sarmin in the southern Idlib countryside.

The source pointed out that Russian reconnaissance aircraft monitored the movements and crowds of militants at the hubs of the Taftanaz Airport, Hass, Kafrnbel and Sarmin in the southern countryside of Idlib.

The source confirmed that the airstrikes destroyed three headquarters of the armed groups, in addition to six vehicles, including a four-wheel drive vehicle used by the armed groups to transport equipment, ammunition, weapons and personnel.

Syrian Army offensive in Idlib to begin as early as next week: source
BEIRUT, LEBANON (9:25 P.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army’s (SAA) offensive in Idlib could begin as early as next week, a source in Damascus told Al-Masdar News on Sunday evening.

According to the source, the Syrian Arab Army has been amassing troops in two important areas in northwestern Syria: Al-Ghaab Plain region of northwest Hama and southern Idlib.

The source said the Syrian Army’s offensive will be led by the elite 25th Special Mission Forces Division (formerly Tiger Forces), the Republican Guard, and elements of the 4th Armored Division.

For several days, the Syrian Arab Army has deployed columns of soldiers and tanks to the southern countryside of Idlib in anticipation of this upcoming offensive against the jihadist forces.

Since Turkey failed to dissolve Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham and the other jihadist groups, the Syrian Arab Army has made the plans to resume their operations in the Idlib Governorate.

Previously, the Syrian Arab Army’s offensive in southern Idlib was relatively successful and ended with their forces capturing Khan Sheikhoun, Al-Hobeit, and the northern Hama pocket.

Interesting article relating to the whole mess of 29 October by Philip Giraldi of the Council for the National Interest (Council for the National Interest - Wikipedia)

@Laurs ,

Good article I thought.

The president has also suggested, in true Trumpean fashion, that “We want to keep the oil, and we’ll work something out with the Kurds. … Maybe we’ll have one of our big oil companies to go in and do it properly,” a step that even the feckless Obama Administration had hesitated to take on legal grounds as the oil unquestionably belongs to Syria. Trump’s amigo Senator Lindsey Graham elaborated on the plan, saying bluntly that “We can use some of the revenues from future Syrian oil sales to pay our military commitment in Syria.”

And remember the White Helmets...

And in another maladroit move, the White House has just announced that it will be giving $4.5 million to the so-called White Helmets, the major propaganda arm of the Syrian “resistance.” Falsely claiming to be a humanitarian rescue and relief organization, the White Helmets produced carefully edited films of “heroism under fire” that have been released worldwide. The films conceal the White Helmets’ relationship with the al-Qaeda affiliated group Jabhat al-Nusra and its participation in the torture and execution of “rebel” opponents. Indeed, the White Helmets only operated in rebel held territory, which enabled them to shape the narrative both regarding who they were and what was occurring on the ground.

The White Helmets travelled to bombing sites with their film crews trailing behind them. Once at the sites, with no independent observers, they are able to arrange or even stage what was filmed to conform to their selected narrative. Perhaps the most serious charge against the White Helmets consists of the evidence that they actively participated in the atrocities, to include torture and murder, carried out by their al-Nusra hosts. There have been numerous photos of the White Helmets operating directly with armed terrorists and also celebrating over the bodies of execution victims and murdered Iraqi soldiers. The group’s jihadi associates regard the White Helmets as fellow “mujahideen” and “soldiers of the revolution.”

Some White Helmets continue to operate in Syria’s terrorist-controlled Idlib province, raising the question whether the United States is prepared to give more taxpayer derived money directly to terrorists. Several months ago, as the Syrian Army closed in on some of the other pockets where the White Helmets operated, the U.S. and Israel mounted an operation to evacuate many of them. Some of them and their families were moved to Israel and Jordan and many of them have wound up in Canada. If the White House again does a flip-flop and pulls the plug on the money earmarked for them it would truly be a welcome sign that the U.S. has realized that the game is over and its direct involvement in Syria should be ended.

This madness is not quite over...:-/

MOSCOW, October 28, 2019 - The consequences of reckless actions that the US and its allies have taken in the Middle East are yet to unfold, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said, addressing a meeting of the Academic Board of the Russian Academy of Sciences’ Institute of World Economy and International Relations, dedicated to the 90th anniversary of late Russian politician Yevgeny Primakov.

According to Lavrov, Washington’s activities in the Middle East have destroyed many regional states, gave rise to rampant terrorism, washed out a unique ethnic and religious mosaic and created a large-scale migration crisis.

"The consequences of reckless activities by the US and its allies remain to be overcome. As you know, we are tackling this issues, first and foremost, by facilitating efforts to root out terrorism in Syria, resolve the country’s humanitarian problems, promote the return of refugees and launch a political process, which we expect to begin with the start of the Constitutional Committee’s activities in Geneva later in the week,"
the Russian top diplomat pointed out.

Spokeswoman for the UN Special Envoy for Syria Jennifer Fenton said earlier that the opening ceremony of the Syrian Constitutional Committee’s first meeting was scheduled to take place in Geneva on October 30.

MOSCOW, October 26, 2019 - The United States smuggles Syrian oil to other countries, the convoys are guarded by US private military companies and special operations forces, Russian Defense Ministry Spokesman Igor Konashenkov said.

"Tank trucks guarded by US military servicemen and private military companies smuggle oil from fields in eastern Syria to other countries. In the event of any attack on such a convoy, US special operations forces and combat aviation are immediately used to protect it," Konashenkov stressed.

He added that oil was extracted with the use of the equipment supplied by the leading Western corporation bypassing all US sanctions.

Konashenkov noted that the contract for transporting oil was executed by the US-controlled company Sadcub created at the so-called autonomous administration of eastern Syria. "Revenues from smuggling Syrian oil arrive at numbered bank accounts of US private military companies and intelligence services through brokerage firms that interact with it," he said.

According to the Defense Ministry, given that the cost of one barrel of oil smuggled from Syria is $38, the monthly revenue of that "private business" exceeds $30 million.

"To secure such a continuous financial flow free from control and taxes, the top officials at the Pentagon and Langley will be willing to guard and protect oil wells in Syria from the imaginary ‘hidden cells of the Islamic State’ (IS, terror group, outlawed in Russia) indefinitely,"
Konashenkov added.

Satellite images confirm US Controls Syrian Oil
The United States controlled the extraction and transportation of Syrian oil both before and after terrorists were defeated in the country, Konashenkov said.

"The space intelligence images show that Syrian oil was actively extracted and transported on a mass scale by tank trunks for processing outside Syria under the reliable protection of US troops both before and after the defeat of the Islamic State (terror group, outlawed in Russia - TASS)," Konashenkov stressed.

He added that all hydrocarbon reserves were the property of Syria, not terrorists or the Americans, who claim that their goal is to protect Syria’s oil fields from Islamic State militants.

"What Washington is doing now, that is, capturing and holding oil fields in eastern Syria under its control, is, putting it bluntly, international state-sponsored gangsterism," Konashenkov noted.

The Pentagon earlier said that the US was planning to send additional troops to northeastern Syria to protect oil fields from Islamic State terrorists.
