'Santas' attack Istanbul nightclub

What I can never understand is how no one seems to express any suspicion when it's revealed that warnings were given in advance by US intelligence services.

At what point is it acceptable to view such warnings (of which there have been many) as predictions, with foreknowledge and likely complicity?

And how come that nobody finds it "strange" when the CIA just happens to know more than the actual local authorities? It's pretty insulting, yet they just let them be wherever and whenever. No need to ask, no need to cooperate with the locals, nothing. They just walk into a country like they own it, then take the credit for being oh so good at "predictions", and they wash their hands off of the entire event. :headbash:

Rt "They"
They say one? But this says "they" meaning more than one.

They said he changed his cloths into a Santa garb. Looks like just winter clothing and dumping what he had on for his escape.

Looks like 2 gunmen 180 bullets or 70 rounds apiece with 3 magazine change's between them and then some.

How many bullets can be loaded in ak47?

The standard magazine capacity is 30 rounds. There are also 10, 20 and 40-round box magazines, as well as 75-round drum magazines. The AK-47's standard 30-round magazines have a pronounced curve that allows them to smoothly feed ammunition into the chamber.

Today's news from Turkey:

Turkey questions US coalition presence at Incirlik Air Base amid ‘confidence crisis’

Top Turkish officials have questioned the use of Incirlik Air Base by the US-led coalition, citing a “confidence crisis” with Washington and inadequate support for Turkey’s ground forces in Syria.

The US-led coalition does little to provide aerial support to Turkish troops deployed in Syria as part of the Operation Euphrates Shield, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu told state-run Anadolu news agency on Wednesday.

“Our people ask, ‘why are they using the Incirlik Airbase. We allowed not only the US but also other countries’ jets to use Incirlik to jointly fight [Islamic State],” he said.

“What purpose are you serving if you do not provide aerial support against Daesh [Islamic State] in the most sensitive operation for us?” he added.

Though the minister called the US “a very important ally,” he emphasized that there is “the reality of a confidence crisis in the relationship at the moment.”

Explosion in Turkish city of Izmir, suspected attackers shot by police – reports

An explosion has been reported outside Izmir courthouse in western Turkey. At least 10 people are said to be injured in the blast, Reuters cites hospital sources.

Two suspected attackers have been killed following clashes with police, according to the news agency.

The news outlet reports that a car bomb exploded right in front of the flag near the courthouse, causing damage to several vehicles.

Police officers are believed to be among the injured, according to Dogan.

Ambulances and police teams are at the scene.

The secretary general of the city municipality, Bugra Gokce, confirmed to CNN Turk that the explosion was caused by a car bomb.

The carpark was reserved for prosecutors and judges, according to CNN Turk.

A temporary media gag order has been issued on the attack, according to Hurriyet.

Dogan News Agency reports that a search has begun for a third suspect, citing the state-run Andalou agency.

The New Year massacre at an Istanbul nightclub was prepared and carried out way too “professionally” to rule out the possibility that the terrorist act was supported by “foreign intelligence services,” Turkey’s deputy PM believes.

After Turkish authorities established the identity of the New Year's eve attacker, Deputy Prime Minister Numan Kurtulmus, in an interview with the Hurriyet Daily News, has suggested that external intelligence services could be involved in the terrorist act. Thirty nine people were killed and 69 wounded in the attack.

I am of the opinion that it’s not possible for the perpetrator to have carried out such an attack without any support. It seems like a secret service thing. All these things are being assessed,” Kurtulmus told the publication, without speculating which state actor might be involved.

Kurtulmus expressed concern that with support from external intelligence other potential attackers could evade Turkish security radars. “As they are supported by some organizations with intelligence capacity, they can conduct terror acts in the way your security system may not even be able to think of,” Kurtulmus said.

Earlier on Wednesday, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu stated that authorities have managed to identify the Islamic State (formerly ISIS/ISIL) militant who killed and injured dozens in Istanbul’s Reina nightclub.

While refusing to release the identity of the shooter, Cavusoglu did say that “efforts to capture him continue,” adding that the house where the suspect lived “has been searched.” The minister also added that the attack was “professionally planned.”

Turkish media identified the attacker’s code name in jihadist circles as “Abu Muhammed Horasani.” Initial police reports suggested that the jihadist may be from Uzbekistan or Kyrgyzstan.

Sharing the details of the investigation, Hurriyet Daily News reported that the attacker arrived in Istanbul with his family on 20 November. The assailant then went to the Turkish capital of Ankara, and then to a major city of Konya in the Central Anatolia Region of Turkey, where he arrived on 22 November.

There, the attacker met with other members of the terrorist cell and rented a house where he and his family lived. In Konya, the attacker allegedly met with an IS “emir” named “Yusuf Hoca” who allegedly ordered the New Year massacre.

From there the assailant made numerous trips outside the Central Anatolia Region, and is believed to have arrived at a safe house in Istanbul three days before the shooting spree.

“Abu Muhammed Horasani” managed to escape from Reina by covering himself in his victims’ blood and used a taxi to escape the murder scene.

On Wednesday morning, Turkish authorities detained 40 people allegedly linked to the tragedy in the province of İzmir, Dogan News reported. Among those detained were 20 children, 9 men and 11 women. Most of them come from Eastern Turkestan, Dagestan and Kyrgyzstan, according to a report.

Earlier police detained 27 people in the Buca district of Izmir, including members of three families with alleged links to the attacker.

On Tuesday police detained two foreign nationals at Istanbul’s Ataturk Airport in connection with the attack.
