Scarlett's Bone broth

Hi everybody! Just wanted to say thank you for the recipe to Scarlett and to all the others for adding their experiences!
I will try that, too - - - - - garlic and onion sounds delicious for me, btw!

;D :knitting: :cheer:

Bone broth is something I've been wanting to try for a good while, this recipe looks great! I prefer to start with something delicious - I know how beneficial bone broth is and I certainly don't want to be put off, thank you =D

Thank you Gawan! I will check that out now - was just about to head down to the market to get my bone broth ingredients, might have to add to my shopping list!

BONE BROTH WITH MARROW BONE, FEET OF PORK and CROSS OF VEAL

Ingredients

- 12 to 15 marrow bones (according to the size).
- 3 to 5 feet of pork (according to the size).
- 1 or 2 cross of veal (it is the knee bone).
- Salt, pepper, turmeric, ginger, mixed herbs of Provence (thyme, laurel, rosemary), or quite different spices or herbs which would have your favor.
I want to cook some Bone Broth :-) But I didn´t get the cross of veal, is there anything I can use instead or is marrow bones and feet of pork good enough? :bacon::bacon::bacon:

Fwiw I did a 24 hour broth yesterday with 4 marrow bones and two pigs feet, carrots, onions halved and skin on, garlic and a knob of ginger.

It turned out very nicely. I am sick at the moment so I added extra salt and shitake mushrooms to a small amount of the broth to drink throughout the day. I'll probably can the rest.

Added: some recipes I saw recomended gently boiling the bones and feet for 5-10 mins to clean them, you then remove the scum that comes to the top. This is quite common in vietnamese Pho recipes, so I tried it. Despite lots of white frothy scum coming to the top I don't know if there was a real benefit to doing it.

Yes, I had omitted to specify this step, which I also do, including for other recipes such as pot-au-feu... This is basically a matter of removing the impurities that are trapped in the scum. I do it twice, and that's it.

Added: Get well soon Jenn.

@MK Scarlett would you like us to add it to your recipe in the first post of this thread.

And the photo is no showing, so would you like to add a new one or just remove it ?

Added: Get well soon Jenn.

Ditto to that @Jenn
