Sol (Sun) and its phenomena

It's relatively calm, despite the multiple flares and the impressive sunspots. Wonder if the "bird" had anything to do with it. The Cs clue back in 2025 is that it was an expulsion of mass from sun's core due to temporary opening of channel. Maybe the core needs to "recover"?
So the recent sun's big event turned out to be a non-hystericized event. Here's the final summary via xras

The surge in solar activity has been completed

One of the strongest solar activity bursts in the 21st century, observed since the beginning of February, ended so suddenly, as if someone had pulled a switch. The active area 4366 raging opposite the Earth, which had only one event left before repeating the record of the current century in the number of strong outbreaks (Лаборатория солнечной астрономии (XRAS) ) and two events before it was beaten, it just stopped producing flashes. The day before, on Wednesday and Thursday, February 4 and 5, Moscow time, 11 explosions of the M and X levels were registered here. Yesterday, on Friday, this number dropped sharply to zero, and today, with the start of the weekend, the solar activity graph has completely degenerated into an almost straight line.

One of the main mysteries that science now has to decipher is the almost complete "sterility" of the active center.
Several very large flares that occurred during these days during the period when the active center was in the zone of maximum influence on the Earth, each of which could create a high-level magnetic storm, led only to weak episodic disturbances of the Earth's magnetic field. Not a single "black swan" (Лаборатория солнечной астрономии (XRAS) ), which these days have been waiting for, has not fluttered out of the Sun. The impact of the flares was apparently neutralized by some features of the configuration of the active region, as a result of which none of the flares was able to form and throw into space a large plasma cloud — an almost integral attribute of major events, the arrival of which to the Earth and brings the magnetic field out of balance.

At the moment, it seems that the Sun should enter another period of stabilization, the duration of which, however, is difficult to predict. Since the beginning of 2026, there have already been two exceptionally large bursts of activity, during one of which, in January, the strongest radiation storm near Earth in the 21st century occurred (Лаборатория солнечной астрономии (XRAS) ), and during the second, in February, the record for the number of large outbreaks was almost broken. Yesterday, very strong explosions occurred on the far side of the Sun (Лаборатория солнечной астрономии (XRAS) ), which indicates that the star retains large reserves of energy. Nevertheless, some period of peace is still guaranteed — let's look at its duration.

It can be noted that the active region 4366 will be in the field of view of the Earth for at least 5 more days, therefore it retains the theoretical chances of breaking the record of the current century. To do this, she will have to gather the remnants of her strength over these days and produce 2 flashes of at least M1.0 level.

The fans are celebrating, as the sun picked up some activity and it was finally cataloged as coming from the same region that was active a few days ago. This means, there's a new 21st century record.

Active region 4366 has updated the record of the 21st century for the number of strong solar flares.

The NOAA catalog has just been updated. Active center 4366, which is currently being observed from Earth, was credited with three category M flashes at once. This means that he now has 66 events to his credit.

The previous catalog record was 3664, followed by 64 strong outbreaks of level M and above. Among other things, the largest magnetic storm in 20 years has been recorded behind it.

Before the record was updated, there was a dramatic pause for almost 3 days, during which the group of spots practically stopped producing flashes altogether. Frankly speaking, it seemed that everything was already done.

I think it belongs here even though it's also related to the South Atlantic Magnetic Anomaly. A recent paper (Feb 04 2026):

Earth’s Magnetic Anomaly Reveals Space Weather Influence on Human Behavior

Abstract

Does space weather influence human behavior? Examining homicide rates from 1990-2021 across developed nations reveals a striking pattern: geomagnetic disturbances driven by solar wind correlate positively with violent crime in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa (r = 0.65-0.87, p < 0.001). However, in Brazil and Uruguay—countries at similar latitudes butpositioned beneath the South Atlantic Magnetic Anomaly where Earth’s magnetic field weakens to 60% of normal strength—this relationship inverts (r = -0.75 and -0.49). This geographic specificity, occurring precisely where geophysics predicts altered electromagnetic environments, provides compelling evidence for genuine solar-terrestrial effects on human behavior and offers a natural experimental framework for investigating how Earth’s protective magnetic shield mediates spaceweather impacts on biological systems.

Plain language summary

The Sun releases charged particles that interact with Earth's magnetic field, creating geomagnetic disturbances or "space weather." Whether these disturbances affect human behavior has remained controversial, and Earth's magnetic shield isn't uniform everywhere.

Paper Overview

We examined thirty-two years of homicide data from eight nations to investigate whether space weather correlates with violent crime, comparing countries at similar latitudes but different magnetic field strengths.

Findings Summary

Geomagnetic disturbances showed strong positive correlations with homicide rates in six countries. However, in Brazil and Uruguay, located beneath the South Atlantic Magnetic Anomaly where Earth's magnetic field weakens to sixty percent of normal strength, this
relationship reversed.

Key Takeaways

This geographic reversal occurring precisely where Earth's protective magnetic field weakens suggests space weather may genuinely influence human behavior, with our planet's magneticshield playing a crucial mediating role.
One question would be whether the sun alone is responsible for the phenomenon or if someone/something modulates it to their advantage?

Very interesting. It's like the auroras, more intense in the Northern hemisphere but weaker or non existent south of the South Atlantic Anomaly. I think it was said as well that UFOs avoid the SAA. Here it is:

April 13th 2024

Q: (L) Does it have anything to do with UFOs and underground bases?

A: No. They avoid the area.

There's also this:

July 26th, 2014

(dugdeep) We wanted to know about the border of the frequency fence. It's always referred to in terms of the US, but is there ever... Like, what about Canada and Mexico? Does it affect us, too?

A: Absolutely! It has no spatial boundaries, except that proximity to targeted areas are more intensely "hit".

Q:
(fabric) Does the weakening magnetic field over North America have an effect on the frequency fence?

A: More like result of.
