A Disturbance in the Force
How convenient that they omit to tell us that years ago during her stay in a refugee camp, she was savagely beaten and raped, she was well known to Police in NZ and had a violent history. The aircraft was really small, with only a curtain between the passengers and the cockpit so no security for the poor Pilots was available. TVNZ's 10:30 news last night just HAD to grab your attention with a ""terrorist" theme, quickly followed by a 10 second interview from Jim Veitch (sub title labelled him as NZ's Terrorism expert) who promptly stated "It was only a matter of time before we were to suffer some "terrorist" activity".
I posted a comment in NZ.Politics news group regarding the incident, advising that IMHO, she was a crazy not a terrorist, and that Jim Veitch & TVNZ were the terrorists for causing panic and suspicion with ill thought out (read Craftily designed) comments on National TV.
Not one reply or comment.
We recently had a "terrorist incident" up north where Police attempted to use the Terrorist laws that were rushed through Parliament shortly after 911 to charge a bunch of Maori, it all fell through in the courts so they charged those folk with Firearms offences. But that incident was used as an excuse to "re-evaluate" our Terrorist laws ..... which is in the process of parliament now. I bet this latest incident will add fuel to the Police case to get more powers than ever. (This from a police force whos commissioner was charged with raping a teenager some years back! He got off, but two of his cronies were already in prison on rape convictions! These convictions were withheld from the Jury in the commissioners case!)
Air NZ stated that the incident will mean a re-think of security for local flights.
