Hint: :)

Note: At least one of the proposed answers came quite close to the solution.
That means: 'At least one' but could be more than one.

I think It might be a combination of ArdVan's and Mike's answer:

a) What is it?
An image of the Mars surface.

b) What kind of a phenomenon we are dealing with?
Sublimation Of Snow.

c) What does "SOS" in the Subject title stand for?
Sublimation Of Snow

d) What are the implications of this kind of phenomena for the society.
Sudden Glacial Rebound due to global warming is already happening on Mars. Thus global warming on Earth is NOT due to human activity and we have prove appositive that it WILL result in sudden glacial rebound. This exposes the climate spin hoax of the ruling psychopath that can now be rounded up. The real work of SAVING as many humans as possible can begin.

Thanks Ark for sharing this with us.

It is a pictured energy of a falling rain cutting through the air, (its upside down I think) and SOS has two meanings, those little streaks on bigger ones creates sos pattern (three short, three long, three short), but it also means “step out self" in thinking about this picture. And rain has implications on humans of course.

Maybe visualized sos signal emited in continuation , and it goes long, short, long , short . . . I just titititing it and it fits. :)

Maybe its just ice on roof’s edge.

Semicondutor opening switch - maybe the mp3 sound is then the hum of the pulsed generator - the sound does remind me of the hum of high voltage lines.

Summary form only given. For commercial applications of pulsed power an all-solid-state nanosecond generator has been developed. The generator is based on SOS-technology and designed to deliver 40 to 60-ns pulses with an amplitude of up to 1 MV at a 500-Hz repetition rate into electron beam or streamer corona discharge load. An output average power is up to 30 kW. A distinctive feature of the generator is that it uses all solid state switching system. As a final power amplifier an inductive storage and a semiconductor opening switch (SOS) are used. A magnetic pulse compressor pumps the SOS. Thyristor charging unit is used at the input of the generator. The semiconductor opening switch based on SOS-diodes is one of the key components of the generator. This unit has the operating voltage of 1.2 MV and cuts off currents up to 4 kA in about 10 ns. The unit is 400 mm long and its mass is about 5 kg. It contains 20 SOS-diodes: 10 diodes in series and 2 diodes in parallel. The generator is outfitted with 1 or 2 such units in parallel depending on the storage inductance. The design of the generator, its circuitry operating principle, and experimental results obtained will be presented

"......When the wounds had been anointed,
When the magic salve had touched them,
Straightway ancient Wainamoinen
Suffered fearful pain and anguish,
Sank upon the floor in torment,
Turning one way, then another,
Sought for rest and found it nowhere,
Till his pain the gray-beard banished,
Banished by the aid of magic,
Drove away his killing torment
To the court of all our trouble,
To the highest hill of torture,
To the distant rocks and ledges,
To the evil-bearing mountains,
To the realm of wicked Hisi.
Then be took some silken fabric,
Quick he tore the silk asunder,
Making equal strips for wrapping,
Tied the ends with silken ribbons,
Making thus a healing bandage;
Then he wrapped with skilful fingers
Wainamoinen's knee and ankle,
Wrapped the wounds of the magician,
And this prayer the gray-beard uttered
"Ukko's fabric is the bandage,
Ukko's science is the surgeon...."

-- Rune 9, The Origin of Iron

When I first looked at the photograph the pattern reminded me of a somewhat similar pattern that can be seen on the back of Trilobites only the photograph seems to be a magnified version with a view along its long axis. Trilobites have been nicknamed the robot vacuum cleaner and they have also been important in both paleontology and plate tectonics research. One of the major forces that help shape the Earth are based upon the slow movement of the tectonic plates. The tectonic plates serves as natures machine sewing and mending the earth in an incessant process of formation and re-formation. Trilobites were known to have thrived for a very very long time (years?). This survivability might be attributed to its durabe outer shell, however, other organisms living at that time have also been known to have a durable protective covering yet they did not survive as long. It may also be contributed to location but the fossils of Trilobites have been all over the world. Thus, it might be that this particular pattern facilitated its ability to survive by means as yet to be known. Maybe it was able to sense changes in the magnetic field as its shell was made of calcite and calcium phosphate minerals in a protein lattice of chitin. The English word "chitin" comes from the French word "chitine", which first appeared in 1836. These words were derived from the Latin word "chit n", meaning mollusk, which in turn comes from the Greek word khit n , meaning "tunic" or "frock". The Greek word "khit n" can be traced to the Central Semitic word "*kittan", which is from the Akkadian words "kitû" or "kita’um", meaning flax or linen, and originally the Sumerian word "gada" or "gida" [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chitin] Calcite is diamagnetic which means it has a zero net magnetic moment because they have the same number of electrons of opposing spin. Diamagnetic substances are slightly repelled by a magnetic field due to the negative charge of the electron clouds.

But it also reminds me of the the pattern of a Mimosa leaf, that is, a SILK Tree. Silk is produced by spiders when spinning a web or imprisoning its food for later consumption. Spider silk is made of complex protein molecules it has a tensile strenth of 1.3 GPa. Steel, an alloy of iron and carbon, has a tensile strength of 1.65 GPa. Iron has a tensile strength of 14.2 GPa. However, the ratio of tensile strength to density is 5 times that of steal. The silk that spiders produce self-assemble into a beta sheet conformation. These beta sheets stack to form crystals. Whereas the other segments form amorphous domains. Silk has also been used in surgeries as non-absorbable sutures. There is also a particular type of spider that burrows underground and spins a web near its hidden entrance waiting for unsuspecting prey to send vibrations to her domain and trap her prey by surprise and using the body for sustenance.

The word mimosa is from the Greek word mimos ("to mimic"), referring to the animal-like movement of the leaves of some species in response to touch. Tenuiflora means "tender flower". Mimosa Tenuiflora then is to mimic a tender flower but Mimosa Tenuiflora is also known by the name Mimosa Hostilis and Hostilis is greek for unfavourable. Mimosa Hostilis/Tenuiflora is known to contain the hallucinogenic compound dimethyltryptamine (DMT) in its bark. DMT has been purported to be naturally produced by the pineal gland during sleep. It used by the Shamans to take them into other spiritual realms beyond the physical world. As you may know the pineal gland as been referred to as the Third Eye.

Therefore, I think that the photograph that depicts a pattern that might be conveying to us geological change as well as increased resonance of earth to higher vibrations, that the trap door is near and we should be alert and "tread" with caution and anything else such ideas may imply.

Here is some other information I found regarding the mathematical expression of suture patterns:

It may be interesting to note that those patterns on the back of a trilobyte can be represented mathematically by applying Fourier Transforms to describe suture patterns. [The following is quoted from the following site: http://palaeo-electronica.org/2003_1/suture/applic.htm]

" The combined power of a suture pattern is:

P(all) = Power(h) + Power(theta)

Power(h) describes variability in the height of the suture, the vertical distance between the top and bottom of the suture. A high Power(h) indicates that the suture is tall, along the longitudinal direction of the whorl. In the same way, the Power(phi) is a description of variability along the radial direction of the suture pattern. A suture pattern with non-singular points can be expected to have a high Power(phi). Power(all), Power(h) and Power(phi) of a straight suture line are all 0. The Fourier description of suture patterns also provides a basis by which suture patterns may be compared. Suture patterns reconstructed using only the first few frequencies display the same general shape.

The frequencies of both h and phi can be treated as orthogonal axes defining a multidimensional space (the number of dimensions equal twice the number of frequencies). The amplitude of each frequency of a suture pattern describes a point in this space. Another way of thinking of this concept is to consider the suture pattern a vector in the multidimensional space, starting at the origin and ending at the point defined by the amplitudes of each frequency. The magnitude of the vector is the square root of Power(all); the direction is determined by the relative amplitudes of each frequency. Each suture pattern defines a unique point. Visualizing the pattern in this way is a useful way to think about the analysis and comparison of suture patterns. Suture patterns can be compared by analyzing the relationships of points and vectors.

Suture patterns whose points are coincident are the same pattern; they have the same shape. Those whose points are near each other in space have similar shapes. Because the Euclidean distance between the points representing suture patterns is a reflection of their similarity, comparison of these distances is a comparison of suture patterns.

Each term of the Fourier series is usually expressed as a harmonic amplitude and a phase angle. The successive amplitude coefficients and phase angles describe superimposed sinusoidal curves of incrementally decreasing wavelength. Each term of the series is a harmonic (the harmonic number is the reciprocal of the period of the waveform), and the harmonic amplitude spectrum consists of a series of integer filters that exactly describes the overall curve.

[Side note on Bees]

It is known that a certain subfamily of bees known as Meliponinae and a fossil of this subfamily has been found and is the oldest on record. It is divided into three tribes:Meliponini, endemic of tropical America; Trigonini, represented by the sort Trigona type, which they are in all the continents, except in Europe; and Lestrimelittini, that has only a sort, Lestrimelitta, which lacks the collector structure of pollen and collects its food pillando the beehives of other species of bees. The nest of its young is constructed of concentric lines until the piquera, the opening normally between the floor and the camera of young, if he is inferior, obtaining that single can simultaneously enter a bee in several species. Without a doubt in an atmosphere with a high degree of competition or predatory competition it allows that the colonies are protected more easily as in serice to others STO. Meli is greek for honey and I couldn't find what the rest means. The honey is known to have antimicrobial properties. One species of Meliponinae is known as Tetragonisca angustula. Tetragon is related to earth and the number four. The Brythonic name Isca means 'water' and refers to the River Usk. The river Usk has also played a role in many local and regional legends. One of the most famous legends involves King Arthur, who is thought by many to have been based in Wales. Legend has it that Arthur fought a battle against Saxon invaders near Newport and, after a victorious outcome, sailed down the Usk on a boat to Caerleon, where he held council and based himself for large stretches at a time. August as in Augustula might mean grand, lordly (of or befitting a lord) "heir to a lordly fortune"; "of august lineage", revered, venerable (profoundly honored) "revered holy men." Nana-Ula is a hero in Hawaiin mythology, it is also the name of an ancient Tongan dance (split dance), and the Hawaiin language is derived from the Tongan language. Ula is also the name of a river in Lithuania. Maybe the behavior of these bees could give clues as to the current state of the transition into 4th density? [I am curious as to what they sound like.]

Well that put a damper on my answer. I had taken the image and put it sideways, you know so that you can see what the overly stretched out word is. Needless to say it was a failure.

I was going to go with a cut away of a cryogenic sword with the concept of sharpen our senses. I wasn't that far off if you consider folding space and ice-cream doesn't have bones. :)
