I have started working on a litlte motion graphics promo, I havn't added sound yet and it's a bit rough but I thought I'd put a link to it so members can have a look and comment on what needs improving

how about reversing animation, so (puzzle)pieces would assemble instead of scatter, maybe with longer reading times. Also maybe different hues, so 'living planet' and 'psychopathology' don't hold same value. Maybe some subtext.. looking good

I agree, longer reading times and some kind of visual cue to distinguish between the different elements... perhaps the transition could explode out and then come back with the next word, kind of like fragmenting and then integrating...

Nice work! I like the detail of it...

Very well done imo a good start!

so far i have

connecting the dots - blue
axis of evil - red
psychopathology - red?
big brother - red?
health & wellness - green?
Science and tech - metallic grey
living planet - green

You have 7 elements, what about the 7 colors of Newton's wheel? Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, Violet...

sorry, been a bit busy of late, I have started impllimenting changes and things are taking shape, will hopfully have it done by the end of the week :)

Great stuff!

Was this created in After Effects? You can integrate it easily by pre-composing each separate text and then reversing the time on the ones you want to integrate. Also, sound effects would be awesome for this. Especially for the pieces coming back together. See here for a good example of sfx usage: _http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HWrtXA_wvK8

Yeah, that's really neat. Looking forward to the finished product.

:D yes I made it in After effects, and yes pre composing is a great tool, setting up the original "template" and then simply changing the text :)

I have finished it now, complete with sound track which I made in Logic.

I am about to upload it (which will take a few hours), so when I return from work this evening I will post a link to the new version.

I have also implemented JR's idea of using Newtons colour wheel.

thanks all for your input!

ok here is the new version http://www.vimeo.com/11128394

It's awesome! The only thing I would suggest is some animation for the words at the end as well, they seem to kind of "plop" onto the screen after all that smooth motion work throughout the vid. All in all, great work!
