Also, people see colors differently.

Even the same person can see colors differently, which depends on the environment, light . . .

and color cultural bias, also the "introduction" to distinguish colors is set to see variations from " dark+blue colors, another ones see gold+white colors", and it would depend if you see just the image in the whole monitor, whatever dispositive, or focusing in the dress and there are other colors around from the desktop, at first, I agreed it was gold/white, because that was my first impression, considering that it looked "dark" because the photo was taken against light. But focusing in its hues, khaki color and pale baby color.

I googled "white gold blue black dress" on Google Images and some of the pictures show a white gold, others a blue black dress. So there are different images circulating, which might explain why some of you saw a white gold dress yesterday and a blue one today. If you haven't looked at the exactly SAME image, that is.

Strange that different people see the dress differently at the same time, though, but as was being said, people see colors differently.

I see it more as a test - and cannot understand why anyone would break up a friendship over that issue (which apparently happened), a test like: How much does it take to divide people (and conquer). Obviously not much :/

White and Gold for me. The lighting gives the illusion of white being blue and gold being brown or darker.
Frankly I have trouble seeing what the fuss is about.

breaking up friendships over this? LOL it tells a lot about what people consider to be friendship nowadays.

I initially saw white/gold. Then I still see white/gold but

Experts say - that we are all right. Doctor Paul Knox from the University of Liverpool argues that color is not something that really exists. There are, he says, different wavelengths of light that we see, but the color is something that we invent in our heads.

'Our eye meets the light of different wavelengths, which then triggers several different paths which are processed and different wavelengths. This is what the brain interprets as a color ', he explained.

But the situation is complicated by the example of the device where we look at the photo, the lighting under which we see and what is happening in our head, and our expectations.
I see a white and golden brown

Hello s_kur.
A question, you're from Argentina? because yesterday I opened my facebook and all I saw were post on the same topic!
I see no television, the truth I did not understand the "hysteria" about the color of a dress

Hola s-kur.

oh, sorry s-kur. I was really surprised by the magnitude of something as simple. (at least I saw it that way), I read some comments from facebook and (apparently) was to identify some kind of "Daltonism" (?) at least here in Argentina was given very important (as always the most mundane things appear in all the media of the country).

oh, lo siento s-kur. Me quedé muy sorprendido por la magnitud de algo tan simple. This puppy is scared and feels ill. The picture made my stomach hurt. The fuss for me is that looking at the same photo my husband saw a different color than I saw without knowing the context of the story.
