This is an excellent article by Eva Bartlett, a freelance journalist and rights activist, on her experiences in Syria. In particular though I wanted to share this inspiring and sincere comment from a regular sott reader, Winston Smith.

Eva Bartlett is another in a long line of brave and talented SOTT contributors, writers, editors and publishers, all bringing us the best that journalism has to offer. What an incredible article, and what a privilege to share in such a perilous journey of truth and insight. Cheers, Eva!

I have no connection to SOTT whatsoever, but periodically I stand up on my tiny soapbox and beg the readers to please help support SOTT by giving whatever you can to finance this wonderful website that brings TRUTH rather than the continuous lies and propaganda the MSM spews 24/7.

My wife and I are old, retired, and lived on a fixed, limited income. But today we will send a check for $300 to SOTT because we know that if we don't dig deeply and put our money where our mouths --and spirits-- are, there may come a day when SOTT is no longer with us. And that would make us very sad.

We know times are tough. Our meager income has fallen like everyone else's has, as interest pays a pittance and our savings dwindle. But we know that without brave souls like Eva Bartlett, and all the other great people who make SOTT what it is, the world will be darker, less illuminated place.

Our yearly contribution may seem like a lot, but it is really only $25 a month. Not much when you think about how much wealth SOTT brings its readers via its cutting edge articles on health, nutrition, science, history, and of course, geopolitical events.

No, we haven't been put up to this by SOTT, and we have no connection or contact with SOTT other than as daily readers. But note well that SOTT never intrudes on its readers seeking donations, and rarely, if ever, makes any funding drives, like so many other websites do.

Thus, every now and then I take it upon myself to very gently remind my fellow SOTT readers what a wonderful tree of knowledge we have growing here. Yet every tree needs regular feedings to survive. SOTT provides us our daily dosages of truth and knowledge, which are the nutrients that all beings need to live fruitful and happy lives. Let's return the favor.

So please dig deeply, and join us in supporting one of the brightest spots on the internet. A place where enlightenment and information are freely offered to all, rather than propaganda, lies and disinformation the MSM and countless other websites spew our way.

SOTT is a great thing for everyone. We all need to support it as much as we can, to keep it strong and growing.

Thank you, SOTT.

And thanks again to Eva Bartlett, another brave SOTT contributor bringing us a uniquely personal view that enriches us with its humanity and its insights.

(And now I'll get off my little soap box for another year.......) :-)

Thanks for sharing the link and especially the comment, Anam Cara.

It reminds us that SOTT is a work-in-progress and the energy output, also requires a corresponding measure of input - to keep the wheels turning. We often forget that financing is a large part of the equation?

Even in our own lives, we're aware - if we don't take responsible action towards things that matter most to us, which most often requires a level of input on our part, generally financing (rent, utilities, grocery) those options become scarcer or nonexistent. The same applies to the survival of SOTT and it's continued multi-level existence, which most of us (if not all) are a part of. Every little bit helps and is compounded by the efforts of others. It reminds me of the saying, "You get back - what you put in" in the sense of energy.

This is a beautiful comment and I agree 100%. Thanks Anam Cara. It is a good feeling to have a feed back from other readers, feed back like this give energy and hope, we feel less lonely, we know that outside same people like us deal with this world like us, are humans like us, with a soul. You made my day Anam Cara!

Thank you for posting that comment from Winston, as I wouldn't have seen it otherwise. It is hard to disagree with what he says :P

:hug2:

I've read the article written by Eva Bartlett a couple of hours ago, it's a powerful article, objectively describing/recounting the daily life of the poor Syrian people, their suffering, struggle, pain, terror they are going through daily thanks to the courtesy of the West's backed jihadists, and at the end of the article it was a real surprise(in a very good way) in reading Winston Smith's comment, it convinced me once more that people like Winston sees Sott indeed as one of the few lighthouses in this world that with her light shines off the darkness that wants to swallow the entire planet, so to me that means that Sott has reached that force to be able to make a difference in this world. So let's keep Sott's light shining. :)

Thanks for that Anam Cara, probably would have missed it otherwise but that was inspiring, good to hear. Keep the light shining!

Thanks Anam Cara - read that comment too from Winston Smith, and i must say it brought a warm feeling to my heart as well. Very inspiring to know that Sott reaches out to many people around the globe, and is making a difference. I'm sure this has many "butterfly wings" effects resonating in our dimension as well causing migraines for the 4D STS'ers ;). Just realised the name Winston Smith was the main character in the book 1984 as well.
