I had read this article and was immediately reminded of the star trek next generation episode, the drumhead.
For those of you who don't watch TNG, basically an innocent man (tarsis) is taken to a trial suspected of conspiring against the federation (good guys), with no evidence other the fact that his grandfather was a romulan (bad guys), which he lied about to get into star fleet. It gets worse as Captain Picard is taken to trial with the same accusations when clearly he is not a traitor and everyone but the psychopathic judge can see that. Eventually he plays the petty tyrant so that her true self is revealed, and the whole court can see her for what she is, and the hearings are ended.
The alien Worf at the end , tells Captain Picard of his shame in believing the judge and her intentions. Picard then says that " villains who twirl their moustaches are easy to spot, but those who clothe themselves in good deeds are well camouflaged " And then "she or someone like her, will always be with us, spreading fear in the name of righteousness, waiting for the right climate in which to flourish"
It seems as though he is talking about psychopaths today! And so I thought this relevant to this article.
Perhaps this is the wrong thread for this so please move if that is so :)
