That kind of ego I have?

In the wake of the last session with Cs, the word "ego" has been important to me in recent months has been around in my head like a cyclical thinking, self-importance mentioned by Don Juan Matus to Carlos Castaneda, basically false personality mentioned by Gurdjieff, here is an excerpt from an article that I found (in Spanish):

"When a person has an ego exacerbated usually intimate and difficulty connecting successfully with others. In other words, difficult to understand an ego that is not yours. "
This would happen because the "I" or ego seeks to satisfy their own needs and motivations, losing sight of the outside world, which can almost always affect meaningful relationships such as family, work and friendships, family.
At birth, love, care, first from our parents, is that we feel important, valuable and a center is formed, this is not who we really are, it's just a byproduct of what others think of us, but a reflection; this would be the ego. society creates the ego, is something you can control, unlike the true self, this is not you can control.

Classification of ego
Ego knows everything.: It is that ego always thinks he's right, likes to give advice about everything, always answer without knowing, thinks he answer for everything, you can not remain silent.

Insatiable ego: The ego "centerpiece", does not like to go unnoticed, do anything to get attention.

Ego switch: Your need for self-reference is so strong that permanently interrupted, never let others finish speaking.

Envious Ego: Is not supporting the triumphs and successes of others. Degrades those who think they are better than him.

Prestigious Ego: It is the ego that seeks applause, appreciation and admiration for everything he does. He always wants to be the best. Often tells others: "I warned you," "I know", "I told you so, but you never listen to me", etc.

Ego Rider: Mounts what others say. It takes advantage of the data of others for their own benefit. Take advantage of what others say to structure their own interventions. It is copión and usurper.

Ego deaf: Never listen, likes to talk only to him, usually pretending to listen.

Ego handler: is one crafty ego always manages either misrepresenting, accommodating, cheating, lying or justifying that things always result in their favor.

Proud Ego: It is that competitive ego, argumentative, who does not like losing.

Ego premind (silent): It is that ego who quietly has a parallel discourse is judgmental, hypocritical and judgmental.
That kind of ego I have?

Well it's a bit difficult, I think that with which I identify, is the prestigious ego, in fact it is something new for me, recently I discovered this on me throughout my life had never sought recognition from others and in recent months has been very strong this in my head.

And you that kind of ego detected? :)

Very relevant to myself at the moment trying to label the person or 'ego' that i am, or have.
From the looks of it i have several that interplay :-[
Ego Rider, Insatiable ego, Prestigious Ego.

At times, especially in my younger years, i have seen other forms of the Ego you have given examples of that seem to have vanished quite alot.
Im sure that it can be broken off into a bigger spectrum. But the simpleness of the examples summed me up quite well for me to view and be honest with :). As we have separate I's, i assume that we can bounce round this ego list depending on circumstance. Something to definitely be weary of for sure!

This makes sense to me. A properly trained or cultivated ego is a strong obyvatel and deputy steward.

I don't think ego can be classified in the way described above. The ego is basically a collection of behaviors and behavior triggers. Daniel Khaneman's Thinking: Fast and Slow and especially Timothy Wilson's "Strangers to Ourselves" are very good books, which show that often how we perceive ourselves has very little to do with how we actually behave, since the conscious mind is simply used by the unconscious mind to justify this or that path of action. In the end, Timothy Wilson concludes that introspection as a tool for self-knowledge is not as useful as looking outside ourselves and seeing how our actions affect us and those around us.

Rather than trying to pidgeonhole yourself as having this or that chief problem, I think it's more productive to set for yourself an AIM, write down how people behave in order to achieve that AIM, compare that to your own behavior, and make changes accordingly based on the knowledge you've gathered so far. If an approach doesn't seem to work (after OBSERVING that it's not - you must remember your aim and measure all the results of your actions), just try something else or network with the forum about it. Odd are someone has come across a similar problem and is willing to share in order to help others and give back the knowledge they themselves needed and received at one point. I hope I'm not rambling at this point, but I hope it helps at least a little. :)

Thanks whitecoast, I had not thought about what you mentioned, when I started to interact in the forum, note that something strange was happening to me, had internal dialogues, not previously had, and was becoming out of control, self importance was me winning the battle, began a thought telling me, what you say are the most important points, you're the best, you've always been, etc, and all ended at the other end into a depression, it clearly was not true, was only this mask he was playing with me, the idea of competing with others, the idea of superiority over others, was taking me to a place that was suffering.

Yes, I think that when you are working, start falling masks, and come to light, other facets that are unknown, so it is important to be aware of our behavior with others, until they can control and even some group of selves , could be eliminated.

Ive noticed this arise aswell at times, usually when i imagine writing a post or reply - even recently it happens thinking about writing in my journal. Its, using the examples you have used, like the Ego roles are competing over who should take lead. Which one is best suited to mask what is really wanting to be expressed maybe?
At first it was hard to see the person/Ego(again simply referring to your given examples) i was. At first i was under the impression ''Everyone but me'' in regards to having an ego. Oh boy what a hit on the head The Work and Forum has done at showing me the light :lol2:. But as people reveled things about me and i seen it from an outside perspective, i was able to gage myself a little more fully - or atleast notice the manor in which i act.

Very good advise as to an initial AIM, and trying to see things in others that you can then watch for in yourself. This makes alot of sense to me, as its sometimes hard to observe the self first hand - an alternate I is probably just taking the reins. But to get examples and knowledge on said behaviors, gives something to look more closely at in the self and own actions in a form of comparison and reflection.
