The Authoritarian Test

It looks like the test was built for the average Joe Beers. Quite difficult to get a realistic accurate result unless you're born in the USA and think like the vast majority of population.

I scored 156... wowsers.

I think the reason mine is unusually high is, unlike a lot of the others here like Adaryn and curious-richard, I didn't really interpolate or integrate concepts from psychopathy into my thinking of the answers. I didn't do this because, let's face it, when they say immoral deviant people they're not thinking of low- or zero-empathy individuals. They're thinking of those who work on the sabbath, raid animal testing facilities to free rabbits, and protest racism in the justice system. Et cetera.

Another thing that caught my eye were questions 13 and 21:
13.You have to admire those who challenged the law and the majority’s view by protesting for women’s abortion rights, for animal rights, or to abolish school prayer
...
21. Homosexuals and feminists should be praised for being brave enough to defy "traditional family values."

For 13, since when are abortion rights, animal cruelty laws, and secularization of public education opposed to majority values? Only people who belong to Moral Majority (which obviously is neither) could hold such a view, and they are endemic authoritarians imo. It's an interesting sort of subconscious implant of perspective and suggestion into the line of questioning.

For 21, it seems to mistakingly imply that it's good enough to defy traditional family values for the sake of defying traditional family values. Not abusing children is usually a traditional family value, and it's not like it's asking if we would praise gays or feminists for beating children as a symbol of protest.

For ex:
Everyone should have their own lifestyle, religious beliefs, and sexual preferences, even if it makes them different from everyone else.

I had to moderately disagree here. What if your "sexual preferences" are pedophilia or sadism? Involves physically or psychologically hurting others?

Ahhh, ok, I get it, it's all in how a person interprets the questions. To me pedophilla is not a "sexual preference" ...it's rape.

Here again, I'm not 'against' nudist camps, and everybody has free will to go around naked on a beach with other naked people if they want to; but that doesn't mean I think there's "absolutely nothing wrong with it". That'd need to be discussed, I think. Why some people do it, what are their "objectives" doing so, etc.

Yeah, for me nudity is not an issue, if my meat suit came with pockets, I'd probably forget my pants on a regular basis...but other people might have other motives.

In short, not so easy and clearcut.

OK, I grok...THANKS.

It's because I was thinking about the world as it IS, not as an ordinary person would (as Adaryn notes above). I realized that AFTER I had finished.

Ahhh, ok, ...and I was thinking of it as I think it SHOULD be

Ok, well that didn't work out real well. I tried taking it again, not being so rigid in how I look at things, and considering the questions in relation to how the world currently is.... and I got 24 :(

I got 61.
I could not help but think how whichever "sides " you'd chose are not free of psychopathic influences osit.

That was my thinking when doing the test too.

50 - I wonder what these Palin supporters would score: _http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zRqcfqiXCX0

35 - but I doubt this crowd reads this test the way he thought people would read this test.
