We spend one third of our lives in a state of sleep, yet the reason we do so is still illusive. Despite its clear importance, sleep seems to be one of the first things we sacrifice when the going gets tough. Are you sleeping properly? Are our modern habits interfering with this essential life process? How can we maximize the benefits of sleep to insure greater health and vitality?

All these topics and more will be discussed in today's Health and Wellness show. Also included will be Zoya's Pet Health segment. Join us weekly on Fridays at 10am EST on the SOTT Talk Radio Network.

Thanks. This one, along with a few Sott articles I saw on sleep, are timely for me. I've been trying to do too much, and falling into dissociation, which has resulted in less sleep. And I know better. I got a little more the past two nights, and it's a noticeable difference. Feeling achy and drowsy all day is not a good thing. :-[

Glad the timing is timely. :) As we discussed today (and I'm guilt of this too), we far too often discount the importance of getting enough sleep and at the right times, and in the right conditions. I really often fall for the trap that "well, I only need 6 hours, and from 2am-8am should be fine!" Of course I feel the negative effects afterwards...

Yeah, I've been not sleeping enough the last few weeks too. I go to sleep around 10 PM most of the time, but been waking up around 3 or 4 AM most days. I'll try to listen to this show soon. Thanks for covering another great topic.

Regarding the "how to get to sleep when you're unable to" part, i found that meditating while in bed is a good way to fall into sleep. Before university, i was able to meditate while lying in bed for as much as i wanted, but as i went there, i lost the ability for that. At least i can sleep, though...

Another way (although related) that i found to work is to lay in bed with closed eyes and watch the images that pop up. They will change their shape and might be completely random, but you have to let them evolve by themselves. Do not analyze them, don't try to create anything, just watch them and allow them be. If you do it correctly, you should be asleep before you realize it.

Loose teeth remedy

Boil comfrey root for 5-7 minutes in a covered pot. Get two tablespoonful of the stuff and the brown juice into your mouth. Pour some ~20% DMSO + distilled water solution into a clean small glass and have a nip from it onto the stuff already in your mouth.

Chew on the cooked comfrey root pieces, at least the grinding part feels awesome. Ignore the bitter taste. Chew and make sure all the juice gets everywhere in your mouth and GUMS (!!), where you have loose teeth. After about 4-5 minutes of sloshing and chewing, spit the stuff out.

Next day you will notice itching in your teeth / gum and your teeth will feel less loose and much more stable!

I guess repeated application can pretty much kill inflammation in your mouth and will be able to significantly lessen loose teeth or erase this phenomenon altogether.

Thank You for the show team for this invaluable info!

Just wondering if it were possible to interview Dr. med. Dietrich Klinghardt. He's been claiming for years that autoimmune diseases are caused by parasites.
