THE HISTORY OF THE WORLD .

These had me laughing from the belly all the way through and I thoroughly enjoyed them.
Thank you Laura for this little gift.

But, they are also food for thought on some level as:
The following are a collection of mistakes from exam papers. The
standards are Form 1 to Matric.
Which means these were unintentional errors by ignorant students. "to Matric" means some
of them came from students at the graduation level.

Well one cannot help but laugh as they are all so darn funny to those educated enough to understand the mistakes,
but it is also disturbing on some level to see how clueless many students are.
You'd like to think these were rare occurrences, but I assure you that after teaching for 23 years, errors like these are more common than we want to admit.

One of my many regrets in life is that I did not write the good ones down and save them as the years past--I'd have several pages too.
The most recent one that has stuck with me came from my Introduction to Film class. The opening statement of my student's essay read:
"Movies have been around for thousands of years."
Plato's cave???

MusicMan
I love Geek History..
Good pun!

I once shared the office of a professor. He was correcting a thermodynamics exam and when I asked why he was laughing the whole time, he showed me the exam sheet he had in hand, and the student wrote "let's suppose that liquid water is a perfect gas".

What a fool I've been my entire life. Thanks for posting this, now everything is starting to make sense. Also I can finally give up on finishing your secret history book. :P
