The Ice Age Cometh! Forget Global Warming!

Help is on the way! Can't wait to see penguins in the Sahara!
Snow already on the way ! Here it is in Zouerate, N E Mauritania.

Only found this picture on internet, but it happened in 2020 too when I worked in Mauritania. It happened sometimes in winter when temperatures reach 0°C during cold winter nights in the desert.

I gotta say that the weather we are seeing here in Alberta (at least in my area) is weird. We had about 2 weeks of cold-ish weather at the end of November getting down to -26C at night with maybe 1-2 feet of snow, but that was it. We are now looking at -8C at night and +5C during the day. We've even had some rain. Long range forecast says it's going to be like this for the rest of the month! Well, we'll see about that. But the thing that I've really noticed is the calm, and this goes back into summer. There is no real wind day after day! Yeah, there are storms but, in general, it's the stillness of air that I've noticed. Maybe it's just me.

Some areas of Spain are under red warning of snow due to the strong storm Darra.
In the video from Benasque, where 40 cm of snow is forecast in the morning.

Images of the access to Benasque, which is covered by snow this Sunday. The announced entry of a mass of arctic air from the north of the Peninsula is leaving heavy snowfall and strong gusts of extremely cold wind in the Aragonese Pyrenees, with thicknesses close to 40 centimeters in places like Benasque, and is complicating traffic on the roads of the province, with the closure of the Portalet pass by avalanche risk on the French side, the cutting of two sections of roads and the mandatory use of chains or winter tires on up to 15 roads in the province of Alto Aragon.

Two atmospheric rivers moving in on the West Coast will bring a mix of rain and snow to the US's northern, central, and eastern regions.

And will have an impact on the traveling population during Christmas.

Meanwhile: 🥶

The #Alpes of the North and the #Jura will be full of #neige during the next few days with expected accumulations greater than 50cm on all the massifs (up to 1m locally in #Vanoise / Mt-Blanc).The #Vosges will also see their crests filled with 40 to 50cm of powder. The #Pyrénées can wait 40 to 60cm on the summits (>2500m).
