The loss of a great companion

My condolences for your loss, Nancy. It's very hard to lose a best friend, whether 2-legged or 4-legged. Just know that she had a wonderful life with you. That's really what matters most.

A big hug from me as well, Nancy and Ren. :hug2: :hug2:

Having a rescue dog as well, I've often asked myself who exactly "rescued" whom here? It seems to me, they come to us not asking for much. Just a strong desire to give and receive love. Take care and may Trixie rest in peace.

Two years ago I had to go with my cat Minnie to the veterinary to put her down. She hid under furniture and did neither eat nor drink. any more She showed me that way that she wanted to go. She was ill and blind at that time. We had 14 great years together. We brought her home from a animal shelter when she was about 2. She was a beloved family member and one of the most courageous persons I know. I am missing her very much.

Your Trixie remembers me of her. May Trixie rest in peace. I feel with you. Take care of yourselves during the next time. I am sure Trixie enjoyed the years with you. Hugs to you and Ren. :hug2:

Sorry to hear this Nancy, losing companions never seems to get easier. Best wishes to you and Renaissance and anyone else affected by this.

...so very sorry :( and grieved to hear of your loss, Nancy2feathers and Renaissance - sending deepest condolences to you both, and my heart and thoughts are in alignment with yours...in reverence...big hugs   to you both and all affected in your circle of family & friends :(

Thank you everyone for your thoughts. It's going to be quite different without her. We got some more time with her after she went on the raw meat diet. We thought we were going to lose her years ago. But she came back to life and her recovery remains one of the most amazing things I've seen. She had a full life and while I'm sad that she's gone, I'm very happy to have known her. She was a dear friend. Rest now, little girl.

Thank you everyone for your condolences and very thoughtful notes. I`m overwhelmed by all of your kind words.

It`s hard loosing my 4 legged furry friend. It`s so different coming down stairs and her not being there or her greeting me when I come

home and following me around like my shadow. I know I`m thinking of myself and I`m being selfish. She`s not suffering now and that`s

what`s important...I keep telling myself.

Jeeesh. I`m such a sap for my animals.

Big hugs from me too, Nancy and Ren :hug2: Our little animal friends teach us and give us so much when they are with us, and it is hard for us to let them go. But she had a good life with you, and putting her on the raw diet seems that it gave her more good life. Know that you did the best for her while she was with you.

I'm sad to hear about it too. I know full well how much our companions mean to us. Sending hugs!
