This tweet about the "measurement problem" when spouting nonsense about "Global Warming" is hilarious. I'm not an expert on this so I'm not sure if satellite technology at least can give a better indication, but this really demonstrates the impossibility and voodoo of determining "average temparatures"!


What is the temperature in Hintertupfingen?

- At Huberbauer's stable it's 15 degrees in the morning, 24 at noon, 21 in the evening, but that was yesterday.

- In the marketplace it's 32 degrees at noon.

- In the cellar of Aunt Fine it's always 12 degrees.

- The church tower is 80m high, there it was just 22 degrees, 2m above the church square 23 degrees, on the ground 34 degrees, because the sun is shining on it. Under the village lime tree it's cooler, but no one measured it.

- Franz doesn't have a thermometer, Benno's is broken, Ferdi has one from the 19th century and Bruno has a digital one with two decimal places.

- It's hottest on the PV modules in the solar power park of Hintersolartupfcomplex. You could fry fried eggs on it, but nobody measures there.

- Over the village pond can't be measured, at Gerda's garden it's 20 degrees under the apple tree and 24 degrees at the garden wall, in the forest and on the field there's no thermometer either.

- On the main road, Gunter's car measured 27 degrees, but now rain is coming, the temperature drops to 21 degrees.

So what is the temperature in Hintertupfingen? How warm is it there today, yesterday, in winter, on average? And how warm is it in Germany? In Europe? And what is the "global mean temperature"? Whoever believes that there is such a thing and that it can even be measured, may explain how.

But of course you can choose weather stations, invent the missing ones over the ocean; add satellite data, mountain weather stations, weather stations at asphalted airports in harbors and in heavily built-up inner cities, closely spaced ones in the USA and scattered far in Siberia, non-existent ones in Antarctica, ones at night, during the day - correcting, adjusting, dividing, averaging, homogenizing, normalizing, parameterizing, chasing through algorithms, adding a hundred correction factors, shaking three times, mixing, stirring, and the computer spits out the exact "global mean temperature" to two decimal places. And lo and behold, it is 1.09 degrees higher than the Global Mean Temperature of 1853, which we somehow determined quite accurately.

And you believe all this because it is announced with a serious face in the daily news and because you are otherwise a climate denier and Nazi. Right?

The same site has a video about the use of technologies to alter the weather. One of the techniques is to use nanoparticles of aluminium. It has been found in increasing amount in some places. Aluminium nanoparticle fallout from climate engineering operations are building up in our snow, soils and runoff waters, the levels are far beyond alarming. Lab test results of snow from the side of Northern California's Mt. Shasta are a truly shocking example. Testing samples from this formerly pristine water source have revealed levels of aluminium that are so astronomically high that the meltwater can only be considered completely contaminated.
The website has made a comprehensive video about geoengineering: THE DIMMING, It is very pushy on the chemtrail business, (Though see for instance these SOTT articles: Cosmic COINTELPRO: Baiting chemtrails conspiracy theorists with straw men and Chemtrails? Contrails? Strange Skies) but goes beyond, and covers the problem with fine nano size aluminium particles in some detail. What the video does not mention are the changes in our atmosphere and the cosmic environment. Many of the effects of what we identify as the Wave are labeled as a result of geoengineering. For this reason, the video tries to use geoengineering as an explanation for more than it can carry, and therefore becomes like an overgeneralization that hides, although it pretends to fully disclose. In both the video from Media Zeee and Geoengineering Watch, there is a fair dose of concern going in the direction of fearmongering, and while that may be a bit too much, the point about the PTB not having the interests of the people at heart is quite true. One can reach this conclusion viewing what is happening from many perspectives.

Years ago I saw an article on the above website about chemtrails. A lot of people were talking about this subject at the time.

I started looking for other information online and found multiple sites running exactly the same story, exactly the same text, just presented visually to look different, different photos, different bold text so if someone was just scanning the info they might not notice that it was the same material. I could not believe how many sites had the same thing or variations of it - sometimes a pared down article with only some of the text that was duplicated verbatim, so I realised straight away there was something very wrong.

It was logical to me that the original author of that material would normally be suing all the other sites (it wouldn't take them long to notice their work had been plagiarised if they were constantly looking for information online / networking with others). I checked these websites over a long period of time and they had not changed the material on their sites. A lot of the sites had a very 'official' sort of feeling/design, very clinical, as if it was coming from a 'scientific source'.

It was clear to me that there was something very dodgy going on...
later when I read Secret History, and learned about COINTELPRO so many things finally made sense.

I watched parts of THE DIMMING from the same website, you refer to. There is not even an attempt to understand contrails or distinguish between the effects of spraying chemical compounds and ordinary contrails, they will not spend time on analysing how much water vapour is generated by the combustion of the jet fuel.

Looking for some numbers and illustrations, I found in a post by a site admin, Mick West:
To the point about "depending on operating conditions" the author wrote later in the thread that is it minor and if there is no visible smoke, (which would indicate an incomplete combustion) one will get 99 % CO2 and H2O.

Contrails are formed from extremely cold air mixing with hot exhaust gasses. Contrail formation is most likely at altitudes at or above 35,000 feet and at temperatures below -58°F (-50°C), therefore contrails are mostly formed by jets. Turboprop and piston engine airplanes generally fly in lower, warmer air where contrails are less likely to form.

Combustion, in its purest form, creates two compounds: water (H2O) and carbon dioxide (CO2). These gases are expelled from the engine at well above 1000°F (540°C), meaning the water vapor is entirely in the form of steam.

At the typical cruise altitudes of jet powered aircraft the outside air temperature is routinely -50°F (-45°C) or colder, this temperature difference nearly instantly condenses the water vapor into ice crystals, forming clouds. The phenomenon is similar to that of seeing your breath on a cold winter morning, but at a far larger scale.
To check the temperatures at altitude, I opened and set the temperature indications to 12000 meters. There was a lot of variation, - 35 degrees over southern Sweden, and near minus 60 over parts of Siberia (1500 km north of Lake Baikal). Clearly, one would expect more contrails where the temperature was lower. The chemtrailers also do not look much into why some planes do and others don't produce contrails:

The atmospheric conditions required for the formation of contrails are cold temperatures and low to moderate humidity. This combination of conditions occurs regularly at the cruising altitude of most turbofan and turbojet powered aircraft. Airliners, business jets, and military aircraft all use turbofan and turbojet engines to cruise at these high altitudes where contrail formation is most likely to occur.
Turbofans and turbojets directly expel their exhaust to the atmosphere, providing the mixture of carbon dioxide, water vapor and trace soot particles little time to cool. In contrast, turboprop powered aircraft that use jet engines to drive a propeller typically fly at lower altitudes; in addition they extract power from the exhaust gases to drive the propeller, and those gases pass through exhaust stacks to the outside of the aircraft.

This combination of power extraction, exhaust stacks, lower altitudes and warmer temperatures reduces the exhaust gas to outside air temperature gradient sufficiently to generally reduce the likelihood that contrails will form.

Modern piston engine powered aircraft are largely incapable of reaching the altitudes and thus temperatures where contrail formation is possible.
Additionally, the exhaust manifolds used on these engines allow the exhaust gasses to cool substantially prior to interacting with the atmosphere.

What Conditions Make Contrail Formation Likely?
Most importantly, extremely cold air mixing with hot exhaust gasses leads to the formation of contrails.
Rapid cooling of the water vapor from combustion temperature to ambient temperature forces ice crystals to form, creating the clouds that are referred to as contrails.

The second critical atmospheric condition is low relative humidity. Without low humidity present, water vapor in the exhaust gasses does not form into ice crystals that linger long enough to create a noticeable contrail.

High pressure is the third ingredient to forming persistent contrails. High atmospheric pressure is generally associated with colder temperatures at high altitude, resulting in larger temperature gradients from the exhaust to the surrounding air, thus resulting in the rapid cooling of water vapor to form ice crystals.

Engine design factors may also contribute to contrail formation. The exhaust temperature of an engine is dependent of a range of factors, but generally speaking newer, more efficient jet engines burn less fuel at hotter temperatures.

In order to achieve the same or greater thrust output, these newer engines pass larger amounts of air around the combustion section (this is called bypass air, and the relationship between bypass air and burned air is expressed as bypass ratio), leading to better mixing of the bypass and combustion air, encouraging the formation of contrails.

Studies of bypass ratio on contrail formation suggest that larger bypass ratios (less air burned, more air diverted around the combustion section) results in more frequent contrail production.

Why Do Some Contrails Take So Long to Disappear?

The persistence of contrails is largely dependent on atmospheric conditions. While too much humidity prevents the formation of contrails altogether, too little humidity results in contrails that sublimate from ice back to vapor quickly.

Temperature also affects this relationship, with research indicating that an optimum temperature for persistent contrails exists, decreasing with increasing altitude.

Additionally the presence of particulate matter in the engine exhaust may allow contrails to persist for longer periods of time by providing condensation nuclei for ice crystals to form around.
These condensation nuclei allow the ice crystals to grow prior to sublimating back to vapor, yielding longer lasting contrails.

Older jet engines and turbojet engines tend to create exhaust plumes with more of these particulates present resulting in potentially longer lived contrails.
Like that, there are many factors that facilitate the production of contrails, but none of these are discussed in the video. In the video, they interview a person, who complains his solar panels produce less due to dimming. My question is why he did not check the efficiency of the panels, which drops a little over time, or why did he not have a gadget that measured the number of hours of sunshine that can vary from year to year?

The patents for weather modifications listed on the "chemtrail site", mentioned in this post shows the number has grown much since the time of the session, and discounting HAARP, that leaves quite a number of technologies for "soon a fourth" which was "Artificial tampering by 3rd and 4th density STS forces in a number of different ways." Among the geoengineering patents there may be some which are very limited in effect, there may be some that are mainly a cover for something else, but there could also be some that work. Outside the patents, some technologies might have been developed that are not even patented.

How the technologies for tampering with the weather are used is another question. I wonder what the extent of the artificial tampering is. Could the artificial tampering be used to create weather chaos, that can be blamed on Global Warming which then can be used to push through Draconian laws? Could artificial weather tampering be used to decrease food production and assist plans for depopulation? It would not surprise, but as usual with wishful thinking, there are unintended consequences, not all may work as planned.

The short version:

In this post, I zoom in on tiny nanoparticles and cite an article that explains how some kinds of nanoparticles, containing cerium, aluminium, magnesium and cobalt can be added to fuels and depending on the kind of fuel and its use increase combustion efficiency and reduced CO2 and NOx. However, the same nanoparticles can also have harmful effects on health, especially nanoparticles of aluminium, and there were several papers about the harmful effects of nanoparticles on the biochemical processes of the cells. I could not find any smoking gun, that nanoparticles, of say aluminium, are used in jet fuels. If they were used by the military, it would most likely be a secret.

The long version:
Nanoparticles have diameters in the range from 1 to 100nm, and when one million nanometres are needed for one millimetre, then it is pretty small. One can also compare with the wavelength of the visible light that ranges between 380 and 750 nanometres, or aerosols which are below 1 micrometre in diameter. Nanoparticles suspended in the air are thus like small aerosols.

AZoNano which claims to be "the leading online publication for the nanotechnology community" published an article, Nanoparticles as Fuel Additives, by Will Soutter in 2012, (but they mention a study from 2018), which introduces the political setting with a focus on greenhouse gas emissions, explains how the additives work, and touches lightly on the side effects.
Nanoparticles as Fuel Additives

Transportation is one of the biggest sources of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in the United States, as this sector accounts for 28.5% of this country’s total emissions. These emissions primarily originate from the burning of fossil fuels, 90% of which are petroleum-based, that is used by cars, trucks, ships, trains, and planes.

In an effort to reduce GHG emissions, several Northeast and Mid-Atlantic states have adopted the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative carbon-trading plan. Furthermore, liberal environmental activists, like U.S. Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, have publicly stated their support for The Green New Deal. The Green New Deal, which is a radical approach to tackle some of the most concerning environmental issues plaguing the globe, plans to have all vehicles achieve 100% zero-emission rates by 2030.

While these initiatives continue to arise on the legislative level, a significant amount of research has been made on the fuel production side to address growing environmental concerns. Fuel formulations and additive packs are now being designed to improve fuel consumption and reduce harmful emissions.
What the harmful emissions are in their view is no surprise. However, some additives, if they are used, can be more polluting.
They continue explaining how the additives work:
In particular, soot emissions, which arise as a result of incomplete combustion, contribute significantly to the greenhouse effect. While this may be true, a reduction in soot emission can be achieved much more easily than carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions through the use of additives that help to promote more complete combustion. In addition to reducing soot emission, cleaner combustion also produces less carbon monoxide and nitric oxide (NOx) emissions, both of which have detrimental effects on air quality, especially in urban areas that commonly have heavy amounts of road traffic.

The expanded set of tools that have been made available to researchers through advances in nanotechnology is currently being used to create novel fuel additives that aim to improve the combustion cleanliness in engines. This article will explore a few examples of these fuel nanoadditives and their potential benefits.

They give two examples of nanoparticles which that add to efficiency of the fuel combustion process. The first is cerium oxide. Cerium is a Lanthanide, and one of the rare-earth elements.
Cerium Oxide Nanoparticles
Cerium oxide has the ability to catalyze combustion reactions by donating oxygen atoms from its lattice structure. This catalytic activity is dependent on surface area; therefore, using nanoscale cerium oxide particles can offer distinct advantages over bulk material or larger particles.

Adding cerium oxide nanoparticles to fuel can help assist in the decomposition of unburnt hydrocarbons and soot, thereby reducing the emission of these pollutants from the exhaust while simultaneously reducing the amount of fuel used. It has also been shown that cerium oxide decreases the pressure in the combustion chamber, which reduces the production of NOx and makes combustion reactions more efficient.

Cerium oxide nanoparticles can also be used as a short-term treatment for particulate filters in diesel engines. These nanoparticles help to clear away soot, which clogs up the filters, in an effort to drastically improve the performance of the filters and the overall cleanliness of the exhaust emissions. For example, the use of Karanja oil biodiesel that has been mixed with cerium oxide nanoparticles additives improved engine performance by 5%, while reducing NOx emissions by as much as 26%. Furthermore, this specific study found that this cerium oxide nanoadditive also significantly reduce particulate size number distribution, lowered particle size surface area distribution, and reduce total particulate number concentration as compared to diesel fuel emission characteristics.
The above Karanja oil comes from the seeds of the pongam tree, which grows in India and South Asia.

Aluminum Nanoparticles
Nanoparticles and microparticles of aluminum have also been extensively investigated as potential fuel additives. The main reason or this is because of aluminum’s ability to increase the power output of engines as a result of its high combustion energy. Recent advances in the fabrication and characterization of nanoparticles have provided researchers with a more detailed understanding of the relationship that exists between particle size and structure with performance benefit, thereby supporting research into aluminum nanoparticle fuel additives.

A study carried out by researchers at Purdue University, Indiana, found that nano-sized particles of aluminum provided a greater performance benefit as compared to aluminum microparticles. The characteristics of nanoaluminum in suspension were found to be more conducive to the formation of micro explosions during combustion, which assists the air-fuel mixing and leads to cleaner, more efficient combustion.

In addition, the aluminum nanoparticle suspensions in ethanol-based fuels were much better than those in model hydrocarbons, suggesting that nanoaluminum could be effective in additive packs for bio-ethanol fuels. In fact, a 2018 study found that incorporating aluminum oxide (Al2O3) nanoparticles into Jojoba biodiesel-diesel fuel significantly improved engine performance while simultaneously reducing the NOx emissions by 70%, carbon monoxide (CO) emissions by 80% and smoke opacity by 35%.

The actual exposure scenarios of aluminum and its compound nanoparticles have been simulated by various routes such as oral, inhalation, nasal drip, and peripheral administration. In addition, potential mechanisms including the disruption of the brain-blood barrier, the overproduction of ROS, abnormal mitochondrial function, and autophagy activation were also confirmed to be involved in the neurotoxicity of aluminum and its compound nanoparticles.

Results: When compared to the control group, the exposure to AlNPs showed a marked elevation in oxidative stress markers and inhibition of complex III which was accompanied by disturbance in mitochondrial function. In many respects, the Al2O3-NP was found to be the most toxic species alone and the most dangerous component of the combinations studied.
Then the AZoNano article goes into the effects of a magnesium- aluminium alloy and cobalt oxides. They work, with variations, similarly to the two previous examples: magnesium-aluminium nano particles works similarly to aluminium nano particles, and cobalt oxide nanoparticles show a similar effect to that of cerium oxide nanoparticle.

In a 2011 study, researchers from Anna University in India investigated the potential of cobalt oxide (Co3O4) and magnesium-aluminum (magnalium) nanoparticles as additives for biodiesel fuels.

The oxygen atoms in Co3O4 particles can moderate the combustion reactions in a similar mechanism as to how cerium oxide nanoadditives function. As a result, when Co3O4 nanoparticles were applied to the fuel, the researchers found that the combustion was cleaner and that both CO unburnt hydrocarbon emission was significantly reduced.

The cobalt nanoadditives were also shown to reduce NOx production. This is especially significant with biodiesel combustion since biodiesel fuels are often prone to high NOx emissions as compared to regular petrochemical diesel.

Magnalium nanoparticles serve a similar function as fuel additives as compared to aluminum nanoparticles,
in that these nanoparticles exhibit high energy combustion that produces micro explosions. These micro explosions ultimately improve combustion efficiency to help to improve fuel efficiency or increase power output.

In this study, it was also noted that the magnalium particles acted as a heat sink within the combustion chamber, which allowed for a reduction in the overall temperature of the engine to help avoid hotspots and reduce NOx production.

Toxicity and Environmental Impact of Nanoadditives
As with many nanomaterials, the main challenge that prevents full commercial deployment of these nanoadditives is their potential environmental impact. Whilst nanoadditives have demonstrated the potential to improve fuel efficiency and the quality of exhaust emissions, they may also cause environmental issues if the nanoparticles themselves are carried into the exhaust gases during combustion.
It was not difficult to find papers on the benefits of nanoparticles in fuels, it was more demanding to find the papers on the side effects, and I did not succeed in finding proofs of widespread current use. This does not mean that the additives are not used, but perhaps some fly under the radar.

Review: Progress and Recent Trends in the Application of Nanoparticles as Low Carbon Fuel Additives—A State of the Art Review

Abstract: The first part of the current review highlights the evolutionary nuances and researchhotspots in the field of nanoparticles in low carbon fuels. Our findings reveal that contributionto the field is largely driven by researchers from Asia, mainly India. Of the three biofuels underreview, biodiesel seems to be well studied and developed, whereas studies regarding vegetable oilsand alcohols remain relatively scarce. The second part also reviews the application of nanoparticlesin biodiesel/vegetable oil/alcohol-based fuels holistically, emphasizing fuel properties and engine characteristics. The current review reveals that the overall characteristics of the low carbon fuel–diesel blends improve under the influence of nanoparticles during combustion in diesel engines. The most important aspect of nanoparticles is that they act as an oxygen buffer that provides additional oxygenmolecules in the combustion chamber, promoting complete combustion and lowering unburnt emissions. Moreover, the nanoparticles used for these purposes exhibit excellent catalytic behaviouras a result of their high surface area-to-volume ratio—this leads to a reduction in exhaust pollutantsand ensures an efficient and complete combustion. Beyond energy-based indicators, the exergy,economic, environmental, and sustainability aspects of the blends in diesel engines are discussed. Itis observed that the performance of the diesel engine fuelled with low carbon fuels according to the second law of efficiency improves under the influence of the nano-additives. Our final part shows that despite the benefits of nanoparticles, humans and animals are under serious threats from the highly toxic nature of nanoparticles.

The Liberals have done it again: now they want our natural gas furnaces and stoves removed and adopt an all electric option. As Environment Canada is being manipulated by their policies, they have no intention of telling the truth, instead forcing the Provincials governments to comply by making the consumers, us, in getting in the bandwagon. It is really funny how these people have no idea what's it like to live in -45 and sometimes -50 deg for several days and sometimes, weeks.

GUNTER: Alberta the big loser in federal Liberals’ clean electricity plan​

When you’re listening to the federal government’s eco-propaganda on its new clean electricity plan (especially when you’re listening to their bumf on how the plan will save your family money), remember these are the very same politicians, activists and bureaucrats who told you the carbon tax would make your family money when rebates were included.

Lots of the people behind the clean electricity plan, released by Environment Minister Steven Guilbeault on Thursday, were also behind Ontario’s Green Energy plan of the 2010s and have now moved into federal politics. Despite assurances that Green Energy would ultimately lead to lower power costs, electricity rates in Ontario doubled under that plan.

Guess what will happen under the federal plan.

Conveniently, Environment Canada controls all the factors that go into their own economic projections, so of course they can make their predictions show whatever they want them to show.

In the case of the new clean energy regs, the Trudeau government wants their forecasts to show, “Shifting to clean electricity (will save) households on their energy bills, away from the shocks of yo-yoing gas and oil prices.”

Yes, they admit that even in their manipulated formulas, “the national average household energy bill will increase by $35 to $61 per year if the regulations are adopted.” But the higher costs for home heating and electricity, they assure us, will be more than made up by the amounts we will save “as people move away from fossil fuels to heat their homes, cook food or power vehicles.”
Here’s a little hidden gem in the proposed regulations, expected to come into full effect by 2035: the Trudeau government wants Canadians to get over their dependence on natural gas furnaces and stovetops. They want us to move to heat pumps and electric ranges.

Do you, dear fellow Prairie resident, want to give up your gas furnace when the northwesterly winds start to blow on a January night and it’s -35 outside, just so Justin Trudeau and Steven Guilbeault can feel smug about their efforts to save the planet?
Like fully electric vehicles (another Liberal obsession), heat pumps aren’t meant for winters like ours.

Also, because the Liberals control all the variables in their eco planning, they can overlook practical drawbacks and fallacies.

They can ignore the fact that Canada would have to build the equivalent of another 100 power plants between now and 2035 if they want to eliminate fossil fuel electricity and the internal combustion engine, simultaneously. Where are those new plants coming from?

Since they won’t allow new natural gas plants and its unlikely they have the political will to build a dozen or more nuclear plants, just imagine how many wind turbines and solar panels they are going to have to erect in every park, on every farm and in every grazing pasture in the country.
Then there is the ignored regional aspect of Thursday’s plan.
Just a month ago, the feds promised the Alberta government they would participate in bilateral negotiations on the new net-zero power grid before imposing any regulations that would hurt Alberta. Now, just five weeks later, they spring this plan that would make it impossible to refit Alberta’s gas-fired power plants — an interim step the provincial government told Ottawa was essential if Alberta is to get to net-zero emissions overall by 2050.
As always, the Liberals negotiated in bad faith.
Moreover, the costs of this plan will fall disproportionately on Albertans and Saskatchewanians. Not only will we lose our oil and gas jobs and watch our economies shrink, but because our electrical grids are reliant on natural gas, the increases in power bills here will be much, much greater than the national average.


‘Unrealistic, irresponsible, and unconstitutional’: Alberta rejects Ottawa’s draft regulations on clean electricity
Was speaking to an electrical engineer that works at a coal mine that has a power plant attached. While he seems to have had his dose of koolaid with regards to green energy, he says that there will be a gap between the shutting down of coal fueled powerstations and the ability of green alternatives to take it's place because of lack of infrastructure. He is apparently telling his friends and family to buy generators and he is wiring up their homes to run off them.

He also mentioned that there is a Czechoslovakian company called Sev.en that is currently buying up as many coal fired power stations as they can globally because they see the power failures coming and are setting up to take advantage of them. Sev.en bought the powerstation that this electrical engineer works at last year.

I'm not sure about his take on Sev.en. Here is their blurb on their global investment division. Seems like they're about changing the powerstations to accommodate the shift to green energy - but, they're also buying coal and other mines. Maybe they're hedging their bets.

In October 2022 Sev.en Global Investments acquired a 100% share in Australia Salt Lake Potash, the owner of Western Australia’s Lake Way Sulphate of Potash project (SOP). Lake Way has been one of Australia’s first projects to extract SOP from naturally occurring brines using solar evaporation – a significantly more environmentally friendly production method than the Mannheim process through which the majority of the world’s SOP is produced today. The project has reached advanced stages of its development – with most of the production infrastructure already in place. Once completed, Lake Way is expected to produce c.200,000 tons of SOP per annum and to become a significant global supplier for the production of potassium based fertilizers.

Sev.en Royalties​

The Ultra Low Emission Zone (Ulez) has been expanded to include all of London's boroughs. Drivers must pay a charge of £12.50 per day to drive a non-compliant vehicle anywhere in the zone under the controversial clean-air plan.
A £160m scrappage scheme is still available for all Londoners to claim from, with a maximum of £2,000 being offered per vehicle. Small businesses, sole traders and charities are included in the scheme.

To monitor the new zone, Transport for London (TfL) said it would install 2,750 cameras across outer London. As of mid-August 1,900 cameras had been erected, almost 70% of the total number planned Meanwhile, the Met Police has received hundreds of reports of criminal damage being done to cameras, with more than 300 of them either vandalised or stolen.

Nevertheless, TfL's director of transport strategy and policy, Christina Calderato, insisted the transport authority was "ready" for the expansion.
Ms Calderato also recommended people signed-up to an Auto Pay account on TfL's website, where drivers are automatically charged so they "will never receive a PCN (penalty charge notice)".
Those driving in the zone in a non-compliant car must pay the £12.50 charge online or by phone up to three days after they travelled.
The penalty for not paying is set at £180, which goes down to £90 if it is paid within 14 days.

Despite this convenient option of being automatically charged, I think many people are going to opt for the camera smashing instead.
