Hi Alexandra,

What would make this piece more "perfect", and why would it be so?


Just wondering.

I'm curious as to why you chose to ask this question, Azur, when in the context of the thread it was obvious what Alexandra meant by her remark - even before she explained it for you. Did you understand it to mean something different or were you trying to make a 'point' of some sort?

Azur, note that i put perfect in little ""'s because it is a subjective word.
We were discussing earlier in the thread about the background noise and disturbances. (if you listen to the youtube vid you will notice a funny humming sound cause by being created on a laptop webcam :))

Personally - it doesnt bother me at all :) but we were discussing poor quality equipment and our ability to use it to create and my comment was based more on the idea that 'perfect' really doesnt matter as we had fun creating and expressing. (Vlad was worried becuase his mix was also done on his laptop instead of his proper mixing equipment)

so ...your question...'what would make it 'perfect'....i guess it depends on who is listening to it:) from my view point... i like it the way it is.

the word 'perfect' is too broad and opinionated :)

Err, thanks for explaining and sorry you had to. If I had actually read the rest of the thread with care, uhm, I wouldn't have asked you this.

I actually liked the noise, thought it was a brilliant part of it on purpose. Kinda like your sub-conscious fills in what it could be and the thought that came to me was that the message is hard to communicate through all the static. There was a coolness factor to it.

Thanks, it was fun to watch this creative effort.

Couldn't download Vladamir's music coverage, it says:

While I was listening to your poem, I thought of Dream within a dream by the band called Propaganda ( you might not remember them as they very briefly popular at the end of 80-ies) as a musical background. Actually, this gives me idea...

To me Chill Out primarily means escape from daily grind,

Chill out (sometimes also chillout, chill-out, or simply chill), a term derived from a slang injunction to relax, emerged in the early and mid-1990s as a catch-all term for various styles of relatively mellow, slow-tempo music made by contemporary producers in the electronic music scene. The genres associated with chill-out are mostly Ambient, Trip-hop, Nu jazz, Ambient House, Ambient Trance, New Age and other sub-genres of Downtempo—a major branch of electronic music. Sometimes the Easy Listening sub-genre Lounge is considered to belong to the chill-out collection as well. ;)
